Join Phoenix Dance Theatre as the company starts a year of celebration of three decades of outstanding and inspiring dance. Artistic Director Sharon Watson has revitalised Phoenix, taking the company back to what it does best – compelling, entertaining and diverse programmes – and reintroducing classic pieces from Phoenix’s rich history. If your child would like the opportunity to perform The Whatsit by Allie Spencer in our Studio, this Summer School is for them. Join us for week packed full of drama games and exercises, with a performance for family and friends at the end.
A full-day workshop for one class, bringing to life a period in history. Our Education Officer uses participatory drama techniques to explore what life was like. Choose from the Vikings, the Romans, World War II, the Aztecs or the Tudors.

Learn about physical theatre, ensemble performance and character development. See at first-hand how the play The Wish Collector by Oladipo Agboluaje is transformed from page to stage.
One class of children spends a whole school day working with our Education Officer to create their very own play, which they perform at the end of the day. Choose from Omutugwa (an Africa Cinderella story) or Henry VIII.
Adults aged 16+ Monday 11 – Saturday 16 July Develop your skills in movement, voice and characterisation as you rehearse and perform the play Kaspar the Wild by award-winning playwright Tim Crouch. Our Summer Schools for 9 – 14 years cost £75, and our Adult Summer School costs £125. All prices include two complimentary tickets for the performances (additional tickets extra).
