I

I

started attending NansemondSuffolk Academy in the sixth grade when I moved from Louisiana to Virginia. I have participated in basketball and soccer at both the junior varsity and varsity levels. I have also had the absolute pleasure of serving as a section leader and the drum major within our band program and as the team captain of our Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am blessed to have been surrounded by adults and students who are diverse in appearance and thinking, who care about the welfare of those around them and who are all dedicated to the betterment of the school in which we all hold so dearly to our hearts. Next year, I plan on attending Wake Forest University, where I will pursue a career either in pre-medicine or pre-law.

have attended NSA since the second grade. My favorite activities are Cross Country and indoor and outdoor Track and Field. I am also captain of the Quiz Bowl team and was formerly a member of the concert and marching bands. I also head the Haitian Awareness Club. NSA has taught me to be myself and to not always go with the crowd. NSA has also helped instill a sense of honor in me as a result of our Honor Code. I am grateful to attend NSA, because I know it is a quality, competitive education coupled with a tight-knit student and faculty community, bolstered by teachers who actually care about their subjects and their students. I feel very privileged to be able to attend a school with such quality facilities and programs. My lasting impression from NSA is that it is possible to have an educational community where your classmates and teachers feel like family. One of my goals for the future is to go into education. I would love to teach history or English—my two favorite subjects.
