Determinen un presupuesto Decidan la cantidad máxima de dinero que están dispuestos a invertir. En ella debe estar incluido el arreglo personal de los novios y el viaje de luna de miel.
Determine a budget Decide the maximum amount of money you are willing to spend. It should include the personal preparations for the bride and groom and the honeymoon trip.

Lleven las cuentas Para estar al tanto de las cuentas creen un documento en el que desglosen cada partida, los gastos y evidencien si ha habido cambios. Esto les servirá para saber si siguen en presupuesto. Dividan el documento en tres columnas: estimado, modificado y real. Además, establezcan una columna adicional llamada “extras” para anotar ahí algunos gastos no contemplados inicialmente.

SELECCIÓN DEL BIZCOCHO El pastel de bodas es el centro de atracción en la recepción, forma parte de la decoración y todos aguardan por probar esa obra de arte que cada vez son más sofisticadas, creativas y ni hablar de la variedad en sabores. Un aspecto muy importante antes de comenzar a darle rienda suelta a tu imaginación es tener en cuenta el ambiente donde se llevará a cabo la celebración, es decir si será en un salón con acondicionador de aire o en exterior, ya que de ello dependerá el acabado a utilizarse. Luego entran en consideración la preferencias y gustos de los novios tanto para el diseño como para el tipo, sabor y relleno. Actualmente es muy común seleccionar un sabor distinto en cada una de los pisos. También se estila tener más de un pastel. Tener claro el número aproximado de invitados es fundamental. El pastel debe reflejar la personalidad de los novios e ir a tono con la decoración y el tipo de ceremonia que se realice. Las recomendaciones de conocidos, leer reseñas o comentarios en las redes sobre su trabajo y hacer prueba de pastel serán de gran ayuda para la buena selección del proveedor. Recuerden que además tienen la oportunidad de hacer pequeñas tortas que pueden obsequiar a los invitados. El costo es variado y dependerá de los detalles, la complejidad, la cantidad de pedazos a suplir y el renombre del pastelero.

REMEMBERING MY ENGAGEMENT AND MY WEDDING PREPARATIONS MAKES ME REALIZE I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO MY SOULMATE FOR ALMOST 25 YEARS!
I
staba buscando las toallas para ir a la playa a celebrar junto a toda mi familia la Noche de San Juan cuando me percato de que Roberto y yo nos habíamos quedado solos en el apartamento. Me estaba esperando en la sala con una expresión en su rostro como de gato que se comió al ratón. Había acomodado la videocámara en cierta posición y me dijo: “Ven, párate aquí”. Tan pronto me detuve donde me indicó pulsó el botón de grabar, se arrodilló frente a mí, sacó un anillo de su bolsillo y me dijo: “Te amo y quiero que te cases conmigo”. Han pasado casi 25 años desde esa inolvidable noche, pero aún la recuerdo como si fuera ayer. Transcurrieron casi 10 meses de preparativos para la boda que se celebró el 27 de abril de 1996. Rumbo al gran día hubo muchos momentos felices y de grandes satisfacciones, también un incidente más o menos desafortunado sobre el cual les contaré.
was looking for the towels to go to the beach and celebrate with my whole family on the Noche de San Juan festival, which celebrates the beginning of summer, when I noticed that Roberto and I were alone in the apartment. He was waiting for me in the living room, and he had an expression on his face like a cat that devoured a mouse. He had set the camcorder in a certain position and told me, “Come, stand here.” As soon as I stopped where he had told me, he pressed the record button, knelt down in front of me, pulled a ring out of his pocket and said, “I love you and I want you to marry me.” It’s been almost 25 years since that unforgettable night, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. Nearly 10 months of preparations for the wedding on April 27, 1996. Heading to the big day, there were many happy and fulfilling moments and also a more or less unfortunate incident that I will tell you about.
Una boda, ¿íntima? Inicialmente pensamos en una boda pequeña, algo íntimo y sencillo. ¡Pero terminó siendo de 250 personas! Mi mamá, Belinda Rodríguez, era coordinadora de eventos para una empresa multinacional. ¡Difícilmente iba a ser una boda sencilla! No obstante, el presupuesto era limitado, por lo que nos pusimos muy creativas a la hora de planificar. Cada domingo en la tarde, durante varios meses, teníamos un taller de manualidades improvisado. Junto a un grupo de buenas amistades confeccionamos los centros de mesa con flores de seda y la envoltura para los recordatorios. Los preparativos se convirtieron en una excusa para reunirnos, ponernos al día y compartir. ¡Qué bien lo pasamos!
An intimate wedding? Initially we thought of a small wedding, something intimate and simple. But we ended up having 250 people! My mother, Belinda Rodríguez, was an event coordinator for a multinational company. It was hardly going to be a simple wedding! However, the budget was limited, so we got very creative when it came to planning. Every Sunday afternoon, for several months, we had an improvised craft workshop. Together, with a group of good friends, we made the centerpieces with silk flowers and the wrapping for the favors. Preparations became an excuse to get together, catch up, and share. We had a great time!

El traje soñado, hecho realidad ¡Y cómo olvidar el día que encontré mi traje de novia! Como ya había modelado varios tenía una idea de como lo quería. Fui a El Imperio Salón, en aquella época era lo mejor en trajes de novia. Una de sus dueñas, doña Linda, me dijo: “Tengo un vestido espectacular y es el primero que traigo a Puerto Rico de la prestigiosa casa de moda Pronovias”. Cuando me lo medí supe inmediatamente que ese era. ¡Parecía sacado de un cuento de hadas!

My dream dress, came true And how to forget the day I found my wedding dress! As I had already tried on several wedding dresses; I had an idea of how I wanted it. I went to El Imperio Salón, back then it was the best place for wedding dresses. One of its owners, Doña Linda, told me, “I have a spectacular dress and it’s the first one I bring to Puerto Rico from the prestigious fashion shop, Pronovias.” When I tried it on, I knew immediately that it was the one. It looked like something out of a fairy tale!

La ceremonia y la recepción Nos casamos en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Piedad, en Isla Verde. Esa localidad tiene un significado especial para nosotros pues allí se casaron mis padres y de niños estudiamos en su colegio. De hecho, antes de que fuéramos novios, era donde cada domingo veía a Roberto tocando guitarra durante la misa y desde entonces suspiraba por él. La recepción fue en el Club Tropicoro, en El San Juan Hotel. Algunas de mis compañeras de universidad viajaron para formar parte del séquito; mi familia por parte de padre se trasladó desde Oregon y San Francisco. Los parientes de Roberto viajaron desde los Estados Unidos y Colombia. Y por supuesto que también se unieron a la celebración nuestros amigos y familiares de Puerto Rico. Todo fue perfecto y mejor de lo que jamás había imaginado, excepto que el videógrafo desapareció. Por eso nunca pudimos obtener el vídeo oficial. Sin embargo, me quedan los recuerdos y algunas fotos. Después de la recepción nuestros mejores amigos terminaron en nuestra habitación. Roberto grabó esa fiesta improvisada que fue el highlight de la noche. Aunque debo admitir que nos dio trabajo desalojar el cuarto, a las 3:00 de la mañana todavía seguía la rumba y nuestro vuelo salía a las 6:00 a.m. Pero como tendríamos toda una vida para disfrutar el uno del otro, no apresuramos a nadie para que se fuera. Después de todo, en pocas horas nuestra luna de miel sería en Europa, nos esperaban experiencias increíbles y estaríamos solos por tres semanas.

The ceremony and the reception We got married in Nuestra Señora de la Piedad Catholic Church, in Isla Verde. That venue has a special meaning for us because it was where my parents got married, and when we were children, we studied at that school. In fact, before we were boyfriend and girlfriend, it was where every Sunday I saw Roberto playing guitar during Mass and I yearned for him ever since. The reception was at Club Tropicoro, in the El San Juan Hotel. Some of my college classmates traveled to be part of the wedding party; my family on my father’s side came from Oregon and San Francisco. Roberto’s relatives traveled from other parts of the United States and Colombia. And of course our friends and family from Puerto Rico also joined the celebration. Everything was perfect and better than I ever imagined, except that the videographer disappeared. That’s why we could never get the official video. However, I have the memories and some photos left. After the reception, our best friends ended up in our room. Roberto recorded that impromptu party which was the highlight of the night. Although I must admit that we had some trouble clearing up the room, the party was still going on at 3:00 a.m. and our flight was leaving at 6:00 a.m. But since we’d have a whole life to enjoy each other’s company, we didn’t rush anyone to leave. After all, in a few hours we would be in Europe for our honeymoon, amazing experiences were awaiting us, and we would be alone for three weeks.

Contamos con opciones de coctel y variedad de sangrías o mimosas. Nuestros platos van desde tortillas, huevos benedictinos, wafles, sliders, ensaladas, cremas y sopas”, especifica nuestra entrevistada. Acto seguido, aclara que cuentan con opciones para vegetarianos. “Para ellos brindamos tofu o carne de soya, ensaladas de granos, cremas y pastas”. Si deciden casarse durante la semana, ¡tranquilos! Resulta que pueden considerar esta opción cualquier día. “Cabe destacar que el brunch se puede efectuar en cualquier día de la semana. En el caso del Comfort Inn, lo trabajamos de 10 invitados en adelante. Este y nuestros otros menús se pueden personalizar. Queremos que los eventos sean tan únicos como nuestros clientes”, finaliza Rodríguez.

Esta acción va seguida, si así lo deciden, de la contratación del chef que diseñará el menú. “En la entrevista inicial con la pareja se decide cómo se servirá el menú (servido, estilo bufé o en estaciones). También se discuten detalles como la procedencia de los invitados, el tipo de comida que se desea (menú típico puertorriqueño, internacional o étnico) y si hay personas que sigan alguna dieta especial, alérgicos o vegetarianos”, explica a NUPCIAL Chef Marisoll Hernández. De igual manera, es importante saber si se ofrecerá la cena posterior al ensayo y conocer todos los detalles protocolares del evento. Además de la comida, nuestra entrevistada especifica que como parte del presupuesto de esta partida, es importante tomar en cuenta la manera en que se presentará y el personal a cargo. “En ocasiones, se ofrece el servicio de meseros, bartenders y el resto de los elementos como vajilla, cristalería y cubiertos”, aconseja Hernández. Cada curso en detalle • CANAPÉS - “La selección debe ser surtida y balanceada para así cumplir el paladar de cada invitado. Se recomienda calcular entre seis y ocho piezas por invitado”. • SOPA - “Ya sea caldo o crema, todo depende de lo que desean los novios en su cena servida. Se toma en consideración el tiempo designado para degustar la comida, que usualmente es entre 60 y 75 minutos”. • ENSALADA - “La mayoría de las parejas aceptan las recomendaciones del chef, por lo qué hay más libertad de escoger ingredientes innovadores, más allá de lechugas”. • PLATO PRINCIPAL - “Es un plato completo, con todos los elementos y raciones proporcionadas. El conjunto ofrece hasta seis onzas de proteína (un dueto entre carne, cerdo, ternera, pollo, pescado o crustáceo) y su salsa, almidón (arroz, papas, couscous o quinoa) y vegetales frescos”. • POSTRE - “Son pequeñas piezas tamaño cóctel de diversos sabores que crean un conjunto de belleza en el decorado del evento. I introduce new and past trends; I use local products and fresh ingredients. I combine flavors! I play with the colors of nature, with the textures of each ingredient in its natural state without violating or hiding its flavor or smell,” she points out.

A CLASSIC WITH A PUERTO RICAN TOUCH The drink known as “Old Fashioned” is a classic of American cocktails. Para su diseño se toma en consideración el estilo que prefieren los novios”, señala a NUPCIAL Víctor Ortiz, decorador y propietario de EOS Events. Los elementos que se seleccionan para darle vida a esta parte de la ambientación son tan variados como puedan imaginar. Aquellas parejas que prefieren una atmósfera rústica, optan por elegir la mesa de madera y mucha vegetación, la cual puede incluir árboles o arreglos con variedad de hojas. Por su parte, las que se sientes más a gusto con un aire más sofisticado seleccionan mobiliario a base de cristal y acrílico, incluso piezas que

Las rosas en tonalidades más claras, al igual que las hortensias, las orquídeas y otras flores blancas son muy solicitadas. Lo que está en boga La propuesta decorativa que ha diseñado Ortiz se basa, precisamente, en la delicadeza y sofisticación que muchos novios buscan para su enlace matrimonial. La mesa de espejos sirve de punto de partida y sirve de soporte a los candelabros de vidrio de distintas longitudes, las cuales portan velas blancas. Justo frente a la pareja se han dispuesto unos cubos de cristal con flores, también blancas. Rosas mini, lirios cala pequeños, tulipanes y orquídeas son las flores seleccionadas para realizar la composición floral. “Esta es una propuesta más limpia en términos de flores. Las protagonistas son las velas y la calidez que brinda su luz”, establece el experto. Tres cubos blancos de distintas alturas se colocan al lado de la mesa de los novios para darle mayor interés. Sobre dos de ellos se han colocado sendos candelabros y velas pequeñas. A su vez, en la parte posterior se ha dispuesto una mesa más alta que aglutina cilindros de variados niveles con velas flotantes. Muchas parejas prefieren que el bizcocho esté allí ubicado, otras deciden colocarlo en un lugar cercano, creando así otro punto de interés. Otras variaciones Comenta el decorador que hay novios que prefieren compartir la mesa con su séquito o con familiares cercanos. A tales fines, este concepto funciona a la perfección ya que puede traducirse en una mesa alargada para 12 o 16 comensales. Incluso, la mesa más alta puede ubicarse en el área del coctel o bien puede utilizarse a manera de divisor para separa un área lounge de otra más formal. “Las posibilidades de intercambiar los elementos para crear el ambiente perfecto son infinitas. Todo reside en que los novios tengan claro el concepto que desean desarrollar”, puntualiza nuestro entrevistado.

What is in vogue The decorative proposal that Ortiz has designed is based, precisely, on the subtlety and sophistication that many brides and grooms are looking for in their wedding. The table of mirrors serves as a starting point and supports glass chandeliers of different lengths, featuring white candles. Just in front of the couple, glass cubes with flowers, also white, have been arranged. Mini roses, small calla lilies, tulips, and orchids are the flowers chosen to make the floral arrangement. “This is a cleaner idea in terms of flowers. The main features are candles and the warmth of their light,” says the expert. Three white cubes of different heights are placed next to the bride and groom’s table to give it greater interest. Two candlesticks and small candles have been placed on two of them. At the same time, a higher table that binds cylinders of various levels with floating candles has been arranged on the back. Many couples prefer to place the cake there, others decide to place it nearby, thus creating another point of interest. Other variations The decorator says that there are brides and grooms who prefer to share the table with their wedding party or with close relatives. For this purpose, this concept works perfectly as it can be translated as an elongated table for 12 or 16 people. Even the highest table can be placed in the cocktail area or it could be used as a divider to separate a lounge area from a more formal one. “The possibilities of exchanging the elements to create the perfect environment are endless. Everything comes down to the couple having a clear idea of the concept they want to develop,” said Ortiz.

Esto porque la flores y los materiales no están en temporada o bien por el elevado costo que conlleva producirlo. • Contrato - Una vez se pongan de acudo, es necesario que firmen un contrato. En el mismo deben estar detallados todos los acuerdos a los que llegaron con el florista, así como el costo y los términos de pago. Deben ser conscientes de que si al final deciden agregar más elementos de los que estaban estipulados originalmente, es probable que tenga que pagar adicional.

RECOMENDACIONES DE LA EXPERTA Para que la sexualidad y el arte de complacer y ser complacido siga vigente en la pareja sin importar el tiempo que se lleve de casado la sexóloga recomienda: - La comunicación es fundamental en la relación, tanto la comunicación verbal como la no verbal. - Para una plenitud sexual no puede faltar la comunicación sexual, basada en el diálogo y el mutuo interés en las necesidades de la pareja. - El romanticismo, la creatividad y la estimulación de todos los sentidos, el conocimiento de nuestras zonas erógenas y de las de nuestra pareja nos mantienen conectados evitando la monotonía sexual. - Es importante mantener una continua educación sexual para adaptar nuestra sexualidad acorde a las etapas de la vida.

La intimidad de la pareja es un proceso constante de reevaluación y evolución. “Si uno tiene más experiencia que el otro se debe poner en claro que el de menos experiencia tiene la voluntad de aprender y el de más experiencia de enseñar con calma y paciencia. os conflictos en las parejas que comparten un mismo techo suelen ser causados por la distribución (o no distribución) de las responsabilidades (quién hace qué), el poder (quién decide lo que hay que hacer) y las expectativas, entre otros. “Los puntos de discordia pueden ir desde las finanzas y el cuidado de los hijos, hasta la religión, actividades sociales, intimidad y comunicación”, establece Sandra López, psicóloga. Otras diferencias pueden parecer más triviales, pero a base de la repetición y la falta de diálogo pueden convertir la convivencia en una pesadilla. “Nos referimos a la ropa tirada en el piso, tapas del inodoro que no se bajan, toallas dejadas en la cama, zapatos abandonados en la sala, etc. Aunque a simple vista parecen insignificantes, cuando se observan en profundidad representan los elementos previamente expuestos: responsabilidad, poder y expectativas”. Solución de problemas La solución de los problemas tiene que partir de que ambos son capaces de comunicarse y de que tienen la capacidad de generar y valorar las alternativas que presente cada uno. “Otro factor importante es el compromiso, definido como la decisión de que, pese a las dificultades que surjan, continuarán luchando contra los problemas (Beck, 1988). Cada uno de los miembros de la pareja debe tener la confianza y seguridad de que siguen unidos, en una misma dirección tratando de subsanar las diferencias y lograr el propósito de formar una familia”, esboza nuestra entrevistada. Algunas estrategias que pueden ayudar a subsanar las diferencias de la vida diaria son: • Empatía- Es ponerse en los zapatos del otro y validar sus sentimientos, aunque no necesariamente esté de acuerdo; desarrollar un entendimiento del problema comprendiendo y respetando el punto de vista del otro, aunque no justificándolo. • Objetividad- Separar el problema de la emoción que genera. • Comunicación- Importante hablar desde la perspectiva del “yo”. “Yo me siento de esta manera” es diferente a decir “tú siempre haces tal cosa”. La segunda opción no solo es una acusación directa, sino también una generalización (“siempre”). Este tipo de comunicación genera más problemas de los que resuelve. Cuando se toma la decisión de vivir con la otra persona y crear un proyecto de vida en común, ambos deben aprender su nuevo papel de cónyuges y encarar cambios importantes en su estilo de vida a fin de lograr un acoplamiento saludable. “Cada uno debe tener la capacidad y la apertura para negociar de tal manera que puedan establecer nuevas pautas de comportamiento, valores y creencias que ayuden al desarrollo personal y familiar. En caso de enfrentar problemas mayores o no lograr llegar a unos acuerdos satisfactorios para ambos, se recomienda buscar ayuda profesional”, finaliza la experta. Other differences may seem more trivial, but because of repetition and lack of dialogue, coexistence can turn into a nightmare. “We are referring to the clothes thrown on the floor, toilet seats that are not lowered, towels left on the bed, shoes left in the living room, etc. Although at first glance they seem insignificant, when viewed in detail, they represent the elements previously mentioned: responsibility, power, and expectations.” A Solution to the Problems A solution to the problems must start from both being able to communicate and have the ability to develop and evaluate alternatives presented by each of them. “Another important factor is the commitment, defined as the decision that, despite the difficulties encountered, they will continue to address the issues (Beck, 1988). Each of the partners must have the confidence and assurance that they are united in the same direction trying to deal with the differences and achieving the goal of starting a family,” says López. Some strategies that could help to bridge the differences in daily life are: • Empathy - It is putting yourself in the shoes of the other person and validating their feelings, even if you don’t necessarily agree; developing an insight of the problem by understanding and respecting the point of view of the other person, although not justifying it. • Objectivity- Separate the problem from the emotion it generates. • Communication- It is important to speak from the perspective of “I.” “I feel this way” is different from saying “you always do such a thing.” The second option is not only a direct accusation, but also a generalization (“always”). This type of communication generates more problems than it solves. When you make a decision to live with another person and create a common life project, both must learn their new role as spouses and face important changes in their lifestyle in order to achieve a healthy coupling. “Each one must have the capacity and openness to negotiate in such a way that they can establish new behavioral patterns, values, and beliefs that help personal and family development. In case of facing major problems or failing to reach satisfactory agreements for both, it is recommended to seek professional help,” concludes López. Ajustes y disfrute Para que el presupuesto no se vea tan comprometido, la contable recomienda las áreas que se pueden ajustar. “Si las utilidades llegan muy elevadas hay que tener más cuidado con el consumo. Si el alquiler es muy alto hay que buscar uno más económico. Lo que deben evitar es ajustar su reserva de ahorros para pagar otros gastos”. Como matrimonio, además de tener un hogar, querrán disfrutar de vacaciones, lo que hay que planificar desde el inicio de la relación. “Mínimo deben ahorrar el 10 % y para viajes un cinco por ciento del presupuesto. Primero se debe lograr estabilidad financiera, porque si el ingreso no da para vivir estable, no se debe gastar en viajes”, orienta nuestra entrevistada. Para que financieramente haya solidez la experta hace énfasis en la moderación. “Muchas veces a los recién casados les cuesta dejar su vida financiera de solteros y no se ajustan a una vida financiera familiar. Es un aspecto difícil armonizar pero se logra”, concluye.

Adjustments and enjoyment So the budget is not that committed, the accountant recommends the areas that can be adjusted. “If the utilities are too high, we need to be more careful with consumption. If the rent is too high you have to look for a more affordable place. What they should avoid is adjusting their savings reserve to pay for other expenses.” As a couple, in addition to having a home, you would like to enjoy vacations, which you have to plan from the beginning of the relationship. “At minimum, they should save 10% and for travel, five percent of the budget. Financial stability must first be achieved, because if income is not enough to be financially secure, it should not be spent on travel,” Blanco recommends. For financial soundness, the expert emphasizes moderation. “A lot of times newlyweds find it hard to leave their singles financial life and don’t adjust into a family financial life. It’s a difficult aspect to blend but it could be achieved,” she concludes.

iel su pasión por el servicio la llevó a estudiar administración hotelera. Sin embargo, años después descubre que su gran amor es el diseño floral. Tanto así que crea su empresa de decoración de eventos, lo que le permite “practicar mi vocación verdadera: servir y crear en un mismo escenario”. Creyente de la educación, Liriano ha dedicado el último año perfeccionar su técnica. “He estado viajando ara asistir a diferentes escuelas de diseño como la MC Queen, en Londres, Inglaterra, la New York Floral School e Inidep, entre otras. Educarme en congresos internacionales y compartir experiencias con colegas ha sido clave para este renacer”, confiesa. Laboratorio floral Dispuesta a compartir sus conocimientos, Natalia Liriano ha creado una actividad en la que se combina la franca camaradería con lo más avanzado en el diseño floral. “En el 2019 creé el NL Flower Lab, un evento de networking y en el que se despierta esa creatividad floral que me ha llevado a conectar con nuevas personas y ampliar la oferta de nuestro negocio”, manifiesta. A la par con el desarrollo de su establecimiento, está profesional ha sido panelista en eventos desarrollo profesional de mujeres para hablar sobre rediseño de negocio. Asimismo es pionera en el Caribe en el diseño de tatuajes y joyería de flores naturales. aithful believer in education, Liriano has spent the last year perfecting her technique. “I have been traveling to attend different design schools such as the MC Queen, in London, England, the New York Floral School and Inidep, among others. Educating myself in international congresses and sharing experiences with colleagues has been key to this rebirth”, she confesses. Floral Lab Willing to share her knowledge, Natalia Liriano has created an activity that combines frank camaraderie with the most advanced in floral design. “In 2019, I created the NL Flower Lab, a networking event and in which that floral creativity that has led me to connect with new people and expand the offer of our business”, she says. Along with the development of her company, this professional has been a panelist in professional development events for women to talk about business redesign. She is also a pioneer in the Caribbean in the design of natural flowers tattoos and jewelry. on esto en mente es que Ana Agosto ha ideado el Wedding Planners Education Group, una plataforma cuya finalidad es, precisamente, adiestrar a estos profesionales. “La responsabilidad del coordinador va más allá de hacer que todo corra bien durante el evento. Está pendiente de otros detalles que solo un profesional de esta industria conoce”, establece la también profesora del curso de coordinación de eventos que ofrece la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. Un proyecto en grande Agosto ha desarrollado un sistema educativo que comenzó con el seminario “Wedding Planners Experience”. “Ha sido bien acogido tanto por los coordinadores expertos como por aquellos que buscan abrirse paso. Fue un seminario de dos días en el que incluyeron temas relacionados con la función y las responsabilidades del coordinador”, establece quien lleva seis años en la industria.

He or she needs to be aware of other details that only a professional in this industry knows,” says Agosto, who is also a professor of the event coordination course offered at the Sacred Heart University A big project Agosto has developed an educational system that began with the “Wedding Planners Experience” seminar. “It has been well received by both the expert coordinators and those who are seeking to establish themselves. It was a two-day seminar that included topics related to the role and responsibilities of the coordinator,” says Agosto, who has been in the industry for six years.

De ese cúmulo de información, y de la experiencia adquirida en su trayectoria, fue que se ideó el primer manual del coordinador. “Me siento honrada porque este esfuerzo en mantener educada a la industria ha sido todo un éxito”, dice entusiasmada. Como parte de los ofrecimientos de Wedding Planners Education Group se incluyen las clases magistrales que cada dos meses ofrece. “Diferentes recursos, especializados en diversas áreas, abundan en temas necesarios para el coordinador de bodas y de eventos”, acota quien posee varias certificaciones internacionales en coordinación de eventos. From this wealth of information, and from the experience gained in her career, the first coordinator’s manual was developed. “I’m honored because this effort to keep the industry educated has been a success,” she says excitedly. The entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes Ana Agosto does not stop. The master classes offered every two months are included as part of the Wedding Planners Education Group offerings. “Different resources, specialized in diverse areas provide more details on topics needed for the wedding and event coordinator,” adds Agosto, who holds several international certificates on events coordination. i mamá, Reyita Maldonado Fournier, comenzó con un negocio de ropa para mujer. Sin embargo, vio la necesidad de vestir a las niñas para eventos más formales como la primera comunión, graduaciones y bodas. Fue así como nació La Muñequita”, recuerda Yolanda Sánchez, propietaria. Son varios los factores que se han confabulado para que la aceptación del público sea cada vez mayor. “Diseñamos y confeccionamos ropa para diferentes ocasiones especiales. Son estilos exclusivos con materiales de alta calidad provenientes de Francia, Suiza y España”, establece Sánchez. Asimismo destaca que “el servicio que ofrecemos a nuestra clientela es algo que nos ha permitido seguir adelante”.
