2010-11 RECAP The Nyack College Women’s Basketball team finished the season with an overall record of 10-17 and 6-13 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The team fell short of the playoffs by one game behind rival Dominican College. The highlight of the season was Nyack’s victory over Dominican College 51-45 on 2/23 The team was lead by new head coach David Julien who looks to continue to build on the vision of the program. Senior forward Victoria Sweet was named to the All- CACC 2nd team, and 2nd team NCCAA AllEast Region. Sweet averaged 14 pts and 10.5 rebounds (2nd in the conference) to lead the Lady Warriors. Senior players, Lekesha Harris 2.96 assist per game (13th in the conference) and Gretchen Tobias were both vital on and off the court helping to lead the Warriors. Bobbi Van Fleet completed the season averaging 8.2 rebounds per game(9th in the conference) to finish 2nd on the team. These 4 players who were all members of the 2009-2010 CACC Regular Season Championship and 20092010 Conference Tournament Championship will truly be missed. The future is promising though for the Warriors as the team will be led by the core group of Cassaundra McNeill, Khamari Tellis, Courtney Peay and Ashley Tallman. These four players will be looked upon to continue the mission of building on the vision of the program which is to build women of character, through trust, discipline, dedication, sacrifice, communication and collective responsibility.
