The 2022-2023 term is coming to an end

Happy March!

Unfortunently the 2022 through 2023 term is coming to an end. Let’s end our year together with a bang! Let’s increase our service hours and fundraising and get ALL our paperwork in. Some up coming reminders is the deadline for LTC registration is on March 17th, pricing for all attendees has increased $25! The delegates form needs to filled out by March 14th and if attending LTC the delegates need to be the same for both LTC and the online caucus. February MRF is due on March 10th, if your club has any missing paperwork check the paperwork chart found later in this newsletter. Lastly I want to thank all our clubs, officers, and members for the amazing work you have all done over the past year. It has been an amazing opportunity to work as your Lieutenant Governor, I know my successor Alex VanMeter will do a fabulous job!

In Your Service,

Kyle Earle

March Hello

Goodbye February

Service Spotlight On February 8th Ogdensburg Free Academy held a hockey game, titled “Hockey v. Cancer”, to help raise funds for the Richard Winter Cancer Treatment Center at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, in honor of two of our faculty members: cancer fighters English teacher Lonnie Shipper and bus driver Pete Amo and successfully raised $3,250 for the center. Funds were raised in many ways, including a 50/50 raffle, Chuck-A-Puck, a T-shirt sale coordinated by QT Laser, and other private donations. The two special guests were also awarded the “Player of the Game”, following the team's tradition of presenting the winner with a hard hat and chain necklace. The game, which ended in a 6-2 win for OFA, had a meaningful impact on everyone involved and was considered a great success. Two days before the event, OFA Key Club traveled to our local elementary school, John F. Kennedy Elementary, to help the kiwanis affiliated K-Kids design and decorate posters for the game. After school, on the day of the game, members helped decorate the Golden Dome with streamers and the posters they had made two days before. We had a great amount of volunteers, Key Club and otherwise. It was great seeing the community and student body come together to make the event special, and the OFA Key Club was honored to be a part of it! by Merin Curatolo, Ogdensburg Free Academy Key Club
