Beloved Friend — Tchaikovsky and His World: A Philharmonic Festival

For three weeks, Semyon Bychkov conducts the New York Philharmonic in a celebration of Tchaikovsky’s music, a composer who influenced him, and one whom he later inspired. The festival’s title, Beloved Friend, was taken from the frequent correspondence between the composer and his patroness, Baroness Nadezhda von Meck — who financially supported him for 13 years while stipulating that they could never meet!
