Here in Victoria, good planning makes it possible to harvest produce from our gardens during every month of the year. Knowing when to sow seeds is important, but it’s just as crucial to know when and how to transition one crop to another. This presentation will show you how to plan to grow year-round, care for your soil, protect your crops in winter, and we’ll even touch on pests and diseases!

In one day, you can make home your own full sized, comfortable, and sturdy, indoor/outdoor rustic styled willow chair. Using Willow for the bent shoots, and Alder for frame pieces, this is a great first rustic building project. No previous wood-working experience needed, all tools and materials will be provided. This is a full day, 9:00am–5:00pm. Participants are encouraged to bring a helper as well.

ITALIAN FOR TRAVELLERS 19 YRS+

This course is designed for those who have no previous knowledge of Italian and wish to acquire basic conversation and reading skills. The focus will be on providing those who visit Italy, for tourism or work, the skills to ask for directions, order in a restaurant or café, travel in Italy by train, bus or automobile, and have simple conversations with Italians about life and work. The grammar will be kept to a minimum while building vocabulary and proper pronunciation. Please bring $6 to cover course photocopies or $22 to cover the cost of a textbook, pen and paper, and a full water bottle.

SPANISH FOR BEGINNERS 19 YRS+

This course is designed for students with little or no previous knowledge of Spanish who are interested in gaining basic notions of the language. This introductory course will allow you to put new vocabulary and structures into practice in order to be able to get along in daily life situations like asking for places, shopping for food at the market, ordering from a menu in a restaurant, talking about yourself, and much more! Please give the instructor $5 to cover the cost of photocopies.
