The First Aid Instructor (FAI), recognized as Occupational (OFA) Level 1 Instructor, trains instructors to apply teaching and evaluation philosophy to techniques and approaches required to teach first aid skills. Candidates also learn about long-range/short-term planning, class management, safety supervision and the principles of evaluation.
Lifesaving First Aid Instructors can teach the entire Lifesaving First Aid Continuum upon certification to include the following programs: • CPR A/AED, CPR C/AED • Emergency First Aid with CPR A or CPR C (OFA Level 1 equivalent) • Emergency First Aid Child & Residential Care with CPR C/ AED (OFA Level 1 equivalent) • Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED (OFA Level 1 equivalent) • Basic Life Support Responder (CPR-HCP) • Airway Management & Oxygen Administration Prerequisites: 1) 18 years of age by the first day of the course 2) Current Standard First Aid 3) OFA Level 1 or Equivalent (need not be current) 4) Given First Aid responsibility in a work environment for 1 year Oak Bay Recreation Centre - Discovery Room Apr 13–May 15 W 5:45–9:00pm & Su 8:30am–5:00pm $399/6
