January 2018 Clients, Partners, and Friends; This is the second year of going with an electronic version of our year-end review. We have only drawn positive feedback. We hope that you enjoy receiving it. 2017 was a good year for Owen Ames Kimball. Where the local economy has been very strong there has not been an abundance of the types of projects that have been a fit for our firm. However, we have stayed relatively busy through the year. We had many good projects. Again, this year, we have had many aviation projects underway. The education sector has been strong this year with many projects mainly in Collier County but, for all three districts we serve. Our mix of traditional CM renovation projects, new construction and heavy civil has become more balanced with at least in total volume fairly equal. We have been fortunate to continue our great relationships with ongoing clients plus adding a few new clients. Hurricane Irma came through this year. It was extremely fortunate that the damage was not far worse. It did manage to disrupt our operations for close to a month and put some projects back that amount of time on their respective schedules but, we were able to support many of our clients as they had needs from the damage of the storm, and while that never actually is a profit center, it did keep some of our folks busy and there is still some associated work from that going on. Throughout the year we have worked to expand our relationships with the design community and foster new partnerships with up and coming subcontractors. We look forward to doing more of the same in 2018. We enjoyed our joint venture partnership with Tobler Construction, although not too much actually happened in the field this year. We had the opportunity to work on several projects which we still are optimistic about going forward. As has been the norm for many years now, we continue to work synergistically with our sister company Thomas Marine Construction (TMC) and 2017 was no exception. We enjoy the ongoing relationship. Out of the proceeds of the year’s work, our Community Support Committee was able to give a helping hand to many organizations this year and the employees of the company were able to fund the United Way campaign with an increase by over 6%. Our local United Way is and has been instrumental in vetting and funding inclusively local charities in our area. At Owen Ames Kimball, we are looking forward to a great 2018 in every way, due in most part to all of you. We are truly grateful and look forward to talking with all of you throughout the coming year. All the Best,
David Dale and the entire O-A-K team
