Experienced students and beginners are welcome to join. This Saturday course is offered on alternative weeks (see Extra Info:). Learn and develop your pottery techniques in creating items with support, advice and guidance from the tutor in each 5 hour session.

Pottery – Make a Vase in a Day

This course is aimed at beginners. You will learn a variety of building and decorating techniques including slab construction, joining clay, surface decoration, use of slips and sgrafitto. Your vase will be glazed and fired for you and can be collected at a later date.

Build a Brick Wall

Construct a basic wall using bricks while gaining skills and experience. You will learn how to mix mortar, cut bricks correctly and safely, identify queens closers and then put these skills into practice and build an English bond wall.

Lay a Patio

Construct a basic patio using slabs while gaining skills and experience. You will identify the elements that make a patio, learn the correct method of laying a patio and put this into action by constructing a basic patio using slabs.

Basic Sewing Machine Skills in a Day

Are you a complete beginner looking to make sense of how to use a sewing machine or are you looking to refresh your skills and wanting to have guidance on aspects of the sewing machine. On this course you will learn all you need to know about using and making the most of a sewing machine. During this workshop you will make a variety of samples to refer to and create a handy draw string bag to consolidate your newly learnt skills.

Dressmaking: Create a Pattern & Make a Circle Skirt in a Day

A follow on course from Basic Sewing Machine Skills in a Day where you will make a simple circle skirt with a zip. Learn to take body measurements and cut a pattern to size. This course is aimed at enhancing learners with basic and intermediate skills. You will also develop pattern cutting and construction techniques, the end result will be a skirt from your measurements.

Advanced Monoprint: 1 Day

Monoprints are one of the most direct forms of printmaking. The process is often described as liberating and fun with beautiful and often unexpected results. During this one day work shop you will learn how to create original, multi-layered mono prints using transfer drawing, masking and textured surfaces using the etching press. Suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh their skills. Materials provided.

Mindfulness Mini Retreat Day

A wonderful opportunity to refresh and deepen your personal practice of mindfulness in a silent group. The day will focus on sitting meditation (breath, body, sounds, thoughts...), gentle mindful movement, full body scan, mountain meditation, silent sitting and walking practice. Full guidance and support by the retreat facilitator.
