Did you know Cirque Italia has TWO traveling shows?! For the first time ever, The NEW GOLD UNIT IS COMING TO KNOXVILLE, TN with the state of the art water show you DON’T WANT TO MISS!!! Cirque Italia has grown to the point where the next logical step can only be to expand operations and double our presence at the national level. In response to our wonderful fans all over the U.S., and with over 90% of shows being sold out, NOW is the perfect time for a substantial investment. Beginning in 2017, Cirque Italia, the first traveling Water Circus, introduced a second unit, the Gold Unit: a luxurious experience where technology and preforming arts are mixed to create a one-of-a-kind show. Now for 2018, a brand-new performance has been created. This new performance will feature an ultra-modern water curtain that controls every droplet of water meticulously. Audience members can expect to see words and beautiful patterns as the water falls to the ‘lagoon’ below. Cirque Italia is ready to provide a breathtaking experience. This new stage by itself is enough to amaze the most demanding audience, and synchronized with the most creative display of superhuman talent - the result is simply out of this world! The latest trends of the industry are challenged with every Cirque Italia appearance and this 2nd unit is not going to be any different. A careful casting selection has united the best artists from all over the world. This production will feature acts all the way from Russia to Mexico. Cirque Italia believes in multiculturalism as one of our strongest assets. Packed full of incredible acts, there is no room for boredom. The variety presented is exceptional. For those who enjoy whimsy, we have an Avatar. There is almost no bodily limit for our contortionist, Ricardo, as he bends in ways you never would have imagined. Our incredible wheel of death performance features a front summersault flip, something you will be hard-pressed to see anywhere else. If that doesn’t get your head spinning, perhaps our 5 roller skaters and their incredible tricks and turns will. And although Cirque Italia does not use animals in our performances, this year we will be featuring amazing lifelike elephant puppets. They are so well made, you might just think they are real. Whether it’s a futuristic laser act or mesmerizing aerial performances, the show has something for all tastes and expectations. One thing Cirque Italia sets out to accomplish is to create a type of world-class entertainment suitable for all age groups.

This new second unit also follows the same strict animal-free policy that makes the Water Circus stand out from other circus entertainment shows. The “magic touch” of the Italian entrepreneur Manuel Rebecchi, President and Owner of Cirque Italia, added to the flawless direction of the COO, Chanté DeMoustes, and has turned this once romantic project into a successful production known and acclaimed all over the country. Don’t miss the opportunity to be amazed and transported to a fantastic realm where your deepest dreams can -and will- come true. For more information visit www.cirqueitalia.com and make sure to check all our social media accounts. Tickets can be purchased now starting at $10.00-$50.00 depending on availability. ABOUT DZHUS

AW18 COLLECTION, “ESCAPISM”

DZHUS is a conceptual womenswear brand launched in 2010 by Ukrainian designer and stylist Irina Dzhus. Avant-garde yet utilitarian, DZHUS is known for innovative cut, multifunctional transformer garments and austere industrial aesthetics. Inspired by the complex structure of the ambient, Irina Dzhus generates unique experimental constructions.

Escapism is a concept of avoiding the frustrating reality by focusing on an individual’s subjective Utopia. Facing today’s massive pressure of standards, cynical system and destructive rhythm of living, an ingenuously creative mind finds a transcendental way to survive.

Short-listed for the International Woolmark Prize in 2015, DZHUS present their collections during Ukrainian Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. DZHUS vegetarian-friendly clothing is stocked at concept stores in the USA, Austria, Japan, China, Australia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and Russia and sold online worldwide. DZHUS’ customer is an independent intellectual in search of the perfect shell for her distinctive inner world. The brand has been featured in the top international media: Vogue, Dazed&Confused, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Elle, Elle Decoration, Cosmopolitan, L’Officiel, Dezeen.com and many more.

Featuring abstract geometry of shapes and ascetic monochrome, structured complex cut and multipurpose transformations, DZHUS clothing serves as a protective cocoon for the fragile unique individuality, a mediator in its adaptation to the surrounding conformism. For designer Irina Dzhus, the paradox of doing independent design within the concerns of the commercial industry has become a deeply personal experience. For DZHUS Autumn/Winter 2018 line, she has vastly used textiles with creasy finishes and technical textures, raw edges, details looking as if they were incomplete or distressed, open constructive elements. Such technological symbolism is missioned to make a statement about the pricelessness of the creative process and pays honour to the survival mechanism of the avant-garde essence existing in the fashion business realm.

XOXO

Photographers RYAN WEST + ROWAN DALY

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE Hello Lindsey, how are you? LINDSEY MORGAN I’m great! I’m answering from my bed while in pajamas and eating snacks. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE What made you want to get started in your acting career? LINDSEY MORGAN I always loved playing “pretend” or using my imagination, but I remember being deeply moved by the bravery of actors. They’re fearless to perform in front of hundreds and expose themselves and embody all aspects of the human spirit. I just thought if I could be a little like that, like them, then I’d be happy. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE Did you always see yourself being a actress?

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE If so, how did you overcome them? LINDSEY MORGAN It took me a really long time to realize exactly what I was feeling or going through, or why I wasn’t happy when I was successful and seemingly living my dream. I was encouraged to go to therapy and just talk about how I felt. At first, I felt so dumb or less than or weak for having to go talk to someone about my “stupid, champagne” problems. But I realized after going through that, my thoughts were so self-defeating and unhealthy. I was treating myself badly and hurting my spirit. I discovered the self-defeating stories I was telling myself and the negative patterns in my life I was living and I changed them slowly, one by one. I forced myself to examine and process and reevaluate. I know a lot of people don’t believe in therapy, but it helped me, my work and my personal growth immensely. I feel like I understand more about myself and others because of it, which grants me a higher level of empathy for others and the world.

LINDSEY MORGAN No, not at all! I wasn’t sure what I saw myself being. For Career Day I was a Spice Girl. All I knew was that I wanted to be creative and free, but also help people. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE Did you have any struggles with anxiety and depression in your career? LINDSEY MORGAN Yes, depression runs in both sides of my family, so it is something I can be prone to. I am sensitive already and am always exploring my emotions and trying not to push them away. This career can be very demanding of your heart. There is a ton of rejection, financial and career instability and insecurity, the requirement to travel and never be rooted in one place for long, and long hours pouring yourself out emotionally without being replenished. Even though you are acting, your body and your heart feels real emotion coming out and is affected by it. I can’t fake cry, it always has to come from a real place of hurting. Not to mention this career can put your life under a microscope and there’s a certain demand to always be perfect, and if you’re not, you risk being “exposed.” If you’re not 100% confident in yourself (which at 20 when I started, I wasn’t anywhere near), it is so easy to be shaken and taken advantage of and feed into the negative, self defeating voices in your head.

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE What was your favorite acting role? LINDSEY MORGAN I think my favorite acting role to date is Debbie Espinoza, in SUMMERTIME. SUMMERTIME is an indie film I did last summer that just got into the Tribeca Film festival! So I’m very excited about that. I loved Debbie so much because she was a part of me that I hadn’t been connected to in a long time. She brought out a very passionate, sensual and carefree side of me that I don’t always let out because I have so many responsibilities. I loved the freedom she brought to my life.

Obscurae Magazine Volume 35 // ASPCA Spring Issue 2018 Page 69

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE Where do you see yourself in ten years?

how similar we are to animals and how we both are capable of feeling love and loss.

LINDSEY MORGAN The dream, the plan, is to be starring in movies and TV, and creating my own content and art. Possibly married and definitely kids at some point. Basically, being an overall boss and happy.

That being said, animals are amazing companions, and I think they can recognize our suffering and bring pure love and energy to the forefront of our daily lives. It helps feeling a sense of closeness to a living thing.

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE What dreams do you still have that you want to make? LINDSEY MORGAN I have always dreamt of being on Broadway. That’s a huge one for me. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE What was it like growing up in Texas? LINDSEY MORGAN Flat. Very flat. Kidding! It was great. I grew up in a very suburban area. Classic neighborhood track home. I had a verynormal childhood but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE Do you find working animals a good resource for those who suffer from anxiety to get out in the outside world? LINDSEY MORGAN I think and have read that working with animals is an excellent relief for anxiety. It’s a beautiful reminder about the beauty of life. Animals can only be themselves and be present and that is an excellent reminder for us to have, to not overthink and just be and give love. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE This month we are doing an issue that is going toward supporting animal rescues, do you have any thoughts on that?

"I think animal rescues are great. Animals are without a voice and it’s ultimately up to us to always be their voice and help them as much as we can." - Lindsey Morgan I feel like sometimes I can be in some crazy situations and my upbringing will forever ground me and inspire me. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE What is it like working on set for the show The 100? LINDSEY MORGAN The 100 is great! It’s such a funny set, because when we are rolling everyone is very serious and intense but the moment we call ‘cut’ usually everyone is goofing off and laughing and having fun. I am happy to have grown up on it and have learned so much from my time. I will cherish my experience forever.

LINDSEY MORGAN I think animal rescues are great. Animals are without a voice and it’s ultimately up to us to always be their voice and help them as much as we can. OBSCURAE MAGAZINE Do you have any last words you’d like to share with our audience? LINDSEY MORGAN Thank you for reading! Season 5 of The 100 premieres April 24th on The CW! You can find me on Instagram and Twitter @linzzmorgan.

OBSCURAE MAGAZINE What are your thoughts on animals helping with anxiety and depression? LINDSEY MORGAN I remember growing up, I had two dogs and one of them passed away from cancer and the other (a labrador), who was generally always happy, became very sad and not herself. I remember my mom telling me she was grieving the loss of her friend and was depressed. It made an impact on me on

AWOLNATION SET FOR EXTENDED NORTH AMERICAN RUN BEGINNING MAY 10 Headlining Stops Include Nashville, Orlando, Cincinnati, and Appearances at Multiple Festivals Current Single “Handyman” Top 15 Hit at Alternative Radio! Los Angeles, CA (March 13, 2018) – Chart-topping, platinum-selling Awolnation will continue to tour through the summer adding more than 17 headlining dates and festival stops to their North American run, announced today. The first leg of the Here Come The Runts Tour will finish this week on the west coast with an exclusive event at the KROQ Sound Space followed by two nights at The Wiltern before crossing the pond for a European run in April, returning to the US for their second leg beginning May 10 in Las Vegas for the 107.5 OBC Festival. Full routing below.

“AWOLNATION has made an album that has sailed far beyond the constraints of pop security and has made a piece of art.” – The Ithacan “…they can never be accused of lazily making a “typical” AWOLNATION song because there is no such thing.” – Cornell Sun “The wildly eclectic album playfully references rap, disco, new wave and country.” – Kansas City Star “…a tour de force of the current indie and popular rock landscape.” – The Mancunion

Critics have embraced Here Come The Runts:

Formed in 2010, Awolnation crafted one of the most influential songs in years with the chart-topping, record-breaking track “Sail.” The first single off the gold-certified full-length debut Megalithic Symphony, “Sail” was certified 6x platinum in the US and holds the record for the most weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by an independent artist, the second longest for any artist. The song has also achieved global success: certified 10x platinum in Norway, 6x platinum in Canada, 3x platinum in Sweden, 2x platinum in Australia and New Zealand, platinum in Switzerland, gold in Austria, Germany, and the UK. The critically-acclaimed sophomore release Run spawned three other Top 10 US singles – Top 5 tracks “I Am” and “Woman Woman,” as well as their first #1 hit on the Billboard Alternative Chart, “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf).” Awolnation have chosen to use their success as a platform for good, partnering with various charities including Music Saves Lives, Love Your Melon, and The Lance McCullers Jr. Foundation. “…an eclectic rock album in the classic definition.” – Newsday

“…underneath all of the electronic gadgetry, he is still a shockingly solid songwriter.” – AV Club

Support for the headlining run will include Missio, Lovelytheband, and IRONTOM as noted below. General onsale begins Friday, March 16, 10am local time. For more information on tickets please visit http://awolnationmusic.com/. Critically acclaimed Awolnation plan to spend the summer on the road in support of their third studio album and #1 Alternative Album chart debut, Here Come The Runts (Red Bull Records), the follow-up to the platinum-certified debut album Megalithic Symphony, and 2015’s Run. Here Come The Runts sees founder and lead singer Aaron Bruno once again at the helm producing, writing and recording the new album, “with this record I really wanted to make a rock n’ roll/pop album” says Bruno. “And I say ‘pop’ how I grew up listening to it, in the sense of Dire Straits or Born In The U.S.A or The Cars or Tom Petty.” The album features current top 15 Alternative Radio hit “Handyman,” with adds at more than 50 alt stations nationwide including industry tastemaker KROQ in Los Angeles. The video for “Handyman” has more than 1.2 million views, directed by Ravi Dhar tells “a good ole fashion love story,” says front man Aaron Bruno, and features accomplished film/TV/stage actor Monte Markham alongside actress Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes).

“There’s something for everyone, from the fearsome, brassy title track’s hysterical angst to the sweet whistling and Beach Boys-style harmonies of My Molasses, via the rampaging guitar which underpins the anthemic Cannonball.” – TeamRock “…this record from the mind of Aaron Bruno is one that definitely stands out from the list of modern pop albums.” – The Oswegonian

Aries ( 21 March – 19 April ) – This month has more productive and positive potentials than you might think. You are determined to make adjustments in your life style, your work, your home, and other areas of life. Your sense of timing and balance is superb now, and your efficiency is improved ten times over. Relationships and partnerships benefit from expansive, warm energy, or successful new ones are entered into this month. You absorb the mood of those around you quite easily now, and your temperament is somewhat changeable as a result. Favorable Dates : April 7, 8, 16, 17, 25, 26 Favorable Colors : Red & Yellow Taurus ( 20 April – 20 May ) - It’s time to strike a balance between your own needs and those of another. It’s time to compromise and negotiate. A spirit of altruism and generosity, making connections with others from a different background, widening your mind through unusual or different experiences, expanded faith, are all themes this month. You are especially mentally alert and busy this month, and opportunities to travel or simply move about can present themselves. You stand to widen your social circle, update your skills, communicate more effectively, read even more than you do now, advertise, publish, and write more this month. Favorable Dates : April 3, 5, 12, 14, 21, 23 Favorable Colors : Green & Grey Gemini ( 21 May – 20 June ) – You are able to find avenues for self-expression quite easily, and the way you go about deriving pleasure out of life is markedly different, and hugely more interesting, than usual. Your imagination is fertile, and you view your pastimes and the entertainment with open eyes. Cleaning out closets, re-organizing the environment in which you live and work, and other such activities come to the fore. Others may turn to you for advice or recognize your competency and experience in a particular area of life. Favorable Dates : April 3, 4, 12, 13, 21, 22 Favorable Colors : White & Yellow Cancer( 21 June – 22 July ) - It’s a good time to focus your energies on a pet project, get your finances in order, and get yourself out there. The pursuit of pleasure is high up on your list of priorities, and, as long as you don’t overdo it, you are likely to find yourself enjoying life more than usual. Your hunger for satisfaction in partnership and in life in general is strong during this period. This is an excellent time for beginning health regimens, diets, and the like, simply because it is a time when you look in the mirror and see yourself clearly. Favorable Dates : April 1, 4, 10, 13, 19, 22 Favorable Colors : Blue & Yellow Leo ( 23 July – 22 August ) – Your feelings, ideals, and beliefs expand, and you have a strong desire to make everyday life more magical. You begin to feel more confident and settled on a psychological level, and you are less affected or intimidated by your usual fears and inhibitions Your sense of security is strongly reinforced by close partnerships. All you need to do is keep from becoming distracted by your especially needy ego at this time. You may find that you are relied upon for emotional support from a partner. Existing partnerships may be especially nurturing, quiet, and emotional this month. Favorable Dates : April 2, 5, 11, 14, 20, 23 Favorable Colors : White & Green Virgo ( 23 August – 22 September ) - You express yourself in ways that surprise the people around you. Impulsive decisions are possible. You need to make a few changes in your life, and you now have the courage and drive to do so. Just be careful that you recognize the areas of your life that are dear to your heart. Financial speculation should be approached cautiously, whether it’s due to an increased desire to take risks, or to speculate with borrowed or shared money, or if a spouse or partner is inclined towards risk-taking with shared resources. Favorable Dates : April 2, 8, 11, 17, 20, 26 Favorable Colors : Red & Yellow

You could feel an unusual pressure to structure your time and effort, and to cut out communication that seems unnecessary This stage of your life may be marked by hard work. Financial success may not be remarkable, yet it is generally steady, if slow to come by. You are developing your ideals and your commitments. A long-term goal you’ve been working on could come to an end and your goal becomes realized. You could also decide to give up on a goal you’ve had to make way for something else. You need to analyze the direction your life is going in and make necessary changes if you don’t like the path you’re on. You feel considerably more free to be yourself, and others tend to accept you more readily. Favorable Dates : April 3, 7, 12, 16, 21, 25 Favorable Colors : White & Blue Capricorn ( 22 December – 19 January ) – Your efforts now are very constructive, and you are not inclined to want to leave any loose ends untied. You are likely to derive much satisfaction from taking care of practical concerns in your life. This is a time of long-range planning that will bring you benefits down the road. You will be getting serious about learning, studying hard, and changing your attitudes towards work. You will be working on perfecting and refining skills that will be useful on the job, and some will be forced into that position. Career matters are dynamic and exciting Favorable Dates : April 8, 9, 17, 18, 26, 27 Favorable Colors : Yellow & Blue Aquarius ( 20 January – 18 February ) - This can be a good time for going out a lot, meeting someone new or rekindling romance, being creative and inspired, and being enthusiastic about what it is you find fun. Some of you will form a partnership that either leads to marriage or is otherwise significant, some will enhance an existing close relationship, and most will derive much joy from their relationships with significant others. New partners met this month are likely to feel much like a breath of fresh air and you are more open to the intangible realms of inspiration and beauty. Your ability to handle the details required to do a good job is significantly enhanced this month, and others increasingly become more aware of your skills. The ideas you come up with are more radical than usual, and you’re open to ideas that are unusual, innovative, and unconventional. You’re attracted to people who are original thinkers. A casual romance may be taken to new levels. Favorable Dates : April 1, 3, 10, 12, 19, 21 Favorable Colors : Red & Blue
