Skeletal System
Purpose: The skeletal system gives support to the body Bones: Supports the body Cartilage: Provides structure and support to the body’s other tissues without being as hard as bone Joints: Allow the body to bend Ligaments: Connect bones The Skeletal system works with the muscular system by giving muscle something to pull against so skeletal muscle can move. The Skeletal system works with the digestive system by protecting the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, and gull bladder Osteomilitus is an infection in the bone. It can cause different parts of the bone to die.
Muscular System
Purpose: to make the body mobile Cardiac: This muscle allows the heart to squeeze in and out Skeletal muscle: Provide movement to the body parts. Smooth muscles: contract hollow organs Tendons: Work with other bones to move the body Muscular system works with the digestive system by having smooth muscle in the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum Muscular system works with the skeletal system by moving skeletal muscles bone to bone Clostridium tetani is the bacteria responsible for often fatal disease tetanus. Tetanus is characterized in rigidity movements and convulsive spasms in skeletal muscle.
Circulatory system
Purpose: to transport materials throughout the body Heart: Pumps blood to keep the body alive Atrium: Is used to store blood Ventricle: Brings blood to the heart and back Arteries: Carries oxygenated blood around the body Veins: Carries oxygen depleted blood to the heart Capillaries: Connect arteries to the veins Blood: Keeps the body alive Red blood cells: carry oxygen through the door The circulatory system works with the skeletal system by moving oxygen and glucose around the body The circulatory system works with the muscular system by moving waists so they can be disposed by the body
Arteriosclerosis makes fatty deposits in the arteries the walls to stiffen and thicken the walls. This causes too much fat, cholesterol and calcium. This causes too much fat, cholesterol and calcium. This can restrict blood flow or in severe cases stop all together resulting in a heart attack or stroke
Respiratory system
Purpose: To transport air into the lungs Pharynx: A passage way used by food, liquid, and air, without it we cannot talk Larynx: Houses the vocal cords Trachea: Brings air to and from the lungs Bronchi: Transports air from lungs to the trachea Alveoli: Replaces co2 with of then delivers the o2 to the cells in your body
Respiratory System works with Skeletal System by providing oxygen to the bones so they can go to work Respiratory System works with Muscular system by providing oxygen so the muscles can go to work An inflammation of the bronchial tubes
Digestive System
Purpose: To break down foods Mouth: It chews food Saliva: Moistens food to be easier to chew Esophagus: Pushes food in the stomach Stomach: Breaks down food to get nutrients Pancreas: Creates important hormones, including insulin, glucagon and somatostatin
Liver: Purifies and filters harmful or unnecessary things Small intestine: Absorbs nutrients from food Large intestine: Absorbs water from food then gets rid of useless materials Gl tract pathogen can cause abdominal pain, bloating, and diarrhea, heart burn, and difficulty swallowing Digestive system works with skeletal system by providing nutrients by providing nutrients for bone growth and repair Digestive system works with muscular system by providing nutrients for muscles to do work
Nervous System
Pns: Is your voluntary control Cns: Receives information from the outside Nerves: Receives instructions from the body parts and sends them to the brain. Brain: Controls the central nervous system in animals. Spinal Cord: links the nerves to the brain. Nervous System works with skeletal system by using the spinal cord to deliver messages to the body. The nervous system works with the muscular system whereby the brain cerebral controls movement and cerebellum. Parkinson’s disease includes uncontrollable muscle spasms.
