Por Anabel González Born in San Francisco, Andres Amador is a quirky artist. This creative artist uses beaches as a canvas, and sand as paint. His works take special beauty from aerial views that overlook perfection of geometric shapes, he uses elements such as the strings method signature. The works, which can grow up to 30 square meters are carried out at low tide, and take about two hours of work. With a rake, Amador gets the difference in sand tones, combining raked sand and sand without raking.

Nacido en San Francisco, Andrés Amador, es un artista peculiar. Este creador de arte utiliza las playas como lienzo, y la arena como pintura. Sus obras toman especial belleza desde vistas aéreas, desde donde puede apreciarse la perfección en las formas geométricas, para las que emplea elementos tales como cuerdas a método de compás. It is undoubtedly at the front where the illustrator shines like few others. Jean has signed covers for all major publishing companies of the comic industry, in titles like Amazing Fantasy and Batgirl. Oh là là

Graduated with honors in 1931 in the School of Fine Arts of Nihon-ga, in Japan, and after being drafted into the Army in 1945, this Japanese artist spent time touring Japan, China and Europe. It is on these trips, where he discovered the Nordic countries and the beauty of the frozen landscape that characterises his works. Three years later, he presented “The Road”, which reflects an empty path. The simplicity of this work was recognized and later artists have made their own versions. A creation of 27 murals was made for a Japanese house called Shofuso built in Nagoya in 1953 for an exhibition at the famous New York museum.

Located on a hill in Genoa in northern Italy, impressive sculptures make this cemetery a magical place.

With more than one square kilometer, the monumental cemetery Staglieno, stands as one of the largest cemeteries in Europe. Opened in 1851, this beautiful location, has beautiful gardens designed by the Genoese architect Carlo Barabino. Among its impressive mausoleums, those of important figures such as Constance Lloyd (wife of Oscar Wilde), Ferruccio Parri or political songwriter Fabrizio De André. Famous for its sculptures, it highlights the works of Leonardo Bistolfi, and Edoardo Alfieri Giulio Monteverde.

These halos are similar in appearance to a rainbow but are caused by the fraction of light through ice crystals in high altitude “cirrus” clouds. This phenomenon is unusual as the ice crystals must be aligned horizontally to refract the sun’s rays, which must be at the top of the sky (at least 58 degrees from the horizon). Therefore, the Nimbus can not be observed in locations

This occurs only when the sun is high in the sky north of 55 ° N, except from some high mountains. Considering that Cirrus clouds are about 20,000 feet above ground, it is the tilt of the earth that produces 90 colours that are clearly seen. Also, if the alignment of the crystals are in the correct position it makes the cirrus cloud shine brightly as if it were a flame. Despite the difficulty of seeing this amazing phenomenon, there is a particularly good specimen, photographed northwest of Idaho USA, on June 3, 2006, which was published in the New Scientist and the Daily Mail. The fire rainbow, as it is sometimes called, can be confused with other phenomena such as a sun halo. This phenomenon is oriented as a section of the rainbow, such as an arc stretching above the horizon.

Firstly the primary decision is, what do you want for your child? Do you want their primary language at school to be Spanish or English, remembering that you or your child may want to return to The UK or other English speaking countries in the future for employment or family reasons. This is very easy. If you choose a school that has been inspected by and is a member of NABSS (National Association of British Schools in Spain) you can rest assured that the School is essentially British and the first language spoken will be English. This will then be licenced by The Junta Andalucía as a foreign school and the curriculum and teachers qualifications will be monitored by The British Council. If you require a British School, I would always recommend you check the NABSS web site www.nabss.org which lists all member schools and details the inspection procedures amongst many other important details. The British Council do not recommend schools in Spain but they do say that the NABSS website is useful for selecting the right school for your child which speaks for itself. If you choose a Spanish School, whether private or state, the primary language will obviously be Spanish and English

will be taught as a second language.This is fine but you will find all the British schools have a large percentage of Spanish students from professional families that realise the importance of speaking perfect English to complete University education and enhance their career path. I do highly recommend that a child has extra English lessons with a qualified English Teacher to support what a Spanish School delivers. You will find that NABSS schools have teachers that are UK qualified and speak English as their mother tongue. This is extremely important allowing a seamless transition from another British school whether in Spain or overseas. When you walk through the doors at a NABSS school you are guaranteed that your child will be totally familiar what is happening in the class room. All of this assures a seamless transition. I would add that all NABSS schools are regulated and inspected on a regular basis. Beware of other apparent organisations of approval of British Schools as NABSS is the only official organisation recognised by The Spanish Government for British Schools. The children take their SATS examinations from Year 2 to Year 6 just as it would happen in The UK. This will prepare them for their British secondary educaOh là là

tion from Year 7 eventually leading to the taking of their GCSE examinations at 16. Always ask if the school has TEFL teachers (Teaching English as a foreign language) on site to ensure that children who’s first language is not English progress rapidly to full fluency. Never be worried about asking to see approvals and most recent inspection report. If it is not available ask why? I would add that the local Town Hall are totally responsible for Health and Safety and issue an opening licence for the building independently. Even with all the approvals mentioned above a school cannot operate legally without a Town Hall Opening Licence. To summarise a British School will provide a mirror image of what you get in The UK and many include some Spanish within the school day. A Spanish school provides The Spanish National Curriculum with English as a second language. With his unique approach to painting, El Greco is considered by many a s a modern, or even a pre-modern painter - perhaps the first of his kind. Where would Picasso, Pollock, Kandinsky and Chagall have been without him? The commemoration of the 4th anniversary of El Greco has already offered over seven exhibitions, many concerts, lectures… and more to come… It will also dress the streets of Toledo with shows specifically created for this ocassion. Performing arts will flow by the city inviting visitors to participate in an authentic fiesta of music, light, dance and colour. From spectacular living wheels of colours to the actors of fire, the Year of El Greco will also shine in the streets, sharing performances that will evoke the time and the places in which El Greco imagined and created his works.

A unique art style El Greco’s appearance within the world of Spanish painting during the last third of the sixteenth century marked the advent of a new and innovative way of painting, both in a pictorial sense and in terms of addressing those compositions of a religious nature that presented themselves. In turn, El Greco was obliged to adapt to the artistic and commercial practices of Spain at that time, essentially in Toledo, which is where he would settle definitively in the 1580’s. Starting with his earliest commissions in Toledo, El Greco relied on a group of craftsmen and assistants who enabled Oh là là

him to create a series of altar-pieces, in addition to a series of other more minor works, destined for a varied clientele that included different parishes, convents and numerous private clients. The establishment of a permanent workshop in the painter’s house led to a complex creative dynamic in which El Greco took charge of the most important works himself, as well as producing the prototypes for his most popular compositions, based on the subsequent elaboration of replicas, variations and copies featuring different degrees of participation on the part of the workshop.

The biggest ever exhibition of the painter’s work is currently on show in Spain and abroad and attracting crowds from all over the world. Breathtaking The Toledo exhibition located in more than 8 venues was breathtaking, embracing around 70 original works from the earliest religious icons and landscapes to his later portraits and biblical scenes. It is, in truth, a diary of the artist’s life embodied in paintings, drawings and sculptures that show stylistic shifts at different stages of his life. The elongated shapes of the figures in his compositions, the use of contrasting colours, the presence of strangely curved horizontal lines, the synthesis of Byzantine and Western elements - all these make El Greco’s art so enigmatic

and different from that of his contemporaries. Everyone, it seems, has their own unique understanding of El Greco. Intense struggle At a time when pure landscape painting was a rare thing (meaning without a visible human presence), his View of Toledo (1597-1599) was groundbreaking. The painting leads the viewer across a landscape where the city rises up through the hills, and its final view of a church tower carries the onlooker’s gaze up into a dramatic, lighteningfilled sky. El Greco limits his colour range to green and grey-blue (in addition to black and white), but is still able to suggest an intense struggle between light and darkness, the spiritual fusing with the secular. Otherworldly One of the most compelling paintings is Laocoon (1610-1614), which had a big influence on the Expressionist painters of the 1900s. The mythological subject matter is evident here in the appearance of the Trojan priest and his sons, while the space itself appears non-physical, flat, as if the figures exist in a single, otherworldly dimension. They say the line between a genius and a madman is ‘practically invisible’; the art of El Greco is proof of that statement. Have you been told about the risks? Is the success rate/ failure rate the dentist told you about comparable with what you’ve seen on the Internet? 3 Do not base your decision purely on price The cheapest solution is hardly ever the best, and in most cases just a quick fix. El dentista debería trabajar con implantes de empresas renombradas, como en todo, hay diferentes calidades, hay implantes desde 30€ hasta 300€ ¿Cuál de ellos piensa que podría durar toda una vida? 4. Piense a largo plazo, porque usted invierte en futuro Si se decide por un implante, deseas tener una solución a largo plazo, pero si la fábrica que produce los implantes y piezas de prótesis desaparece, su implante queda inútil. “Un implante bien colocado es como un diente universal y puede ser utilizado para muchas diferentes posibilidades protésicas a lo largo de toda la vida.” Dice la Doctora Nadine Hotz.

No solo las mujeres conocen el término “zona problemática”.También los hombres se quejan sobre uno u otro “michelin”. Mientras que a algunos incluso tras un extenso entrenamiento y fuerte ejercico les persisten ciertas zonas problemáticas, hay otros que tras un estresante día de trabajo no encuentran el tiempo para entrenar. Lo bueno es que, para casi cualquiera, la cirugía estética moderna ofrece oportunidades y atajos. Según los cirujanos de Cirumed Clinic, lo que para las mujeres ya es un medio desde hace años, comienza a ser aprovechado también por hombres. La cantidad y calidad de los deseos e intervenciones no es menos que la de las mujeres. Mientras para las mujeres las partes más importantes son la zona de la barriga, las piernas y el trasero, entre los hombres se trata sobre todo de pequeñas zonas con grasa en los flancos y el pecho, los llamadas michelines o Love-Handles, los cuales mediante diferentes técnicas -operativas y no operativas- pueden ser reducidas. Entre otras zonas problemáticas que molestan a los hombres encontramos las bolsas de los ojos y los párpados. Una blefaroplastia es de gran ayuda en esto, mientras que una barbilla demasiado flácida se puede hacer más masculina mediante un pequeño implante. Una nariz grande y muy marcada se puede adaptar a la forma de la cara mediante una corrección. Y un culo flácido se puede estirar para que quede bien tonificado. “Nosotros utilizamos para las pequeñas zonas con grasa en hombres, sobre todo en la zona del pecho y en los flancos, dos medios; Liposucción y una terapia con frío”, nos explican el Dr. Alexander Aslani y Dr. Alexander Hamers de Cirumed Clinic. En una liposucción se aspira la grasa sobrante del cuerpo y en la terapia con frío (Coolsculpting) se mata las células de grasa y se eliminan del cuerpo. Una liposucción es una pequeña intervención operativa, que se suele hacer en sedación y con anestesia local. La técnica más inovadora es una combinación de un chorro de agua con liposucción (AquaJet), en la cual las células grasas se expulsan mediante un chorro de agua, combinando esto con una liposucción-láser para quemar las células grasas remanentes y estirar la piel que cubre la zona. Coolsculpting es una terapia de frío, en la cual se congela la zona de grasa previamente seleccionada y que elimina aproximadamente un tercio de las células grasas

que se encuentran en esta. Esta terapia se lleva a cabo en la consulta y no necesita de ninguna preparación especial, ninguna anestesia y ningún tipo de recuperación. Ambas terapias se adecúan para tratar la mayoría de las zonaz problemáticas en hombres. En caso de un pecho demasiado grande, llamado ginecomastia, el tejido del pecho, indicará el tipo de terapia a escoger. Esto debe ser tratado en una cita informativa con elcirujano. Unos ojos con un aspecto siempre cansado por bolsas hinchadas y párpados más caídos de lo normal, se pueden tratar mediante una intervención corta. En anestesia local se elimina la piel sobrante y la grasa que se encuentra debajo. Mediante esta intervención la cara tendrá unas facciones más frescas, jóvenes y en forma. Pero no siempre son los pequeños desperfectos los que el hombre quiere y puede cambiar. A veces simplemente molesta la nariz grande o doblada cuando se mira al espejo. En algunos casos esta idea madura durante años hasta que el afectado se decide por una operación. En estos casos se trata de cambiar el desperfecto de forma, tamaño o rectitud de la nariz hasta adecuarla a la forma de la cara mediante una rinoplastia. En el momento en el que la nariz se complemente mejor con la cara, toda la cara será más atractiva. Hay ocasiones en las que no molesta que la nariz sea demasiado grande en la cara, sino que la barbilla es demasiado pequeña. En estos casos ayuda un aumento de barbi-lla. Ésta se puede acentuar mediante un pequeño implante, lo que ayudará a formar una cara más masculina y marcada. Cada vez hay más hombres a los que no les basta con los resultados de entrenar sus glúteos en el gimnasio. Para hacer el culo más redondo y tonificarlo, en varios casos se requiere de una cirugía de aumento de glúteos. Mediante la liposucción en ciertos zonas con grasa no deseada, michelines, pecho o barriga, se gana una grasa que después será transferida a los glúteos para darles forma. El resultado es un culo redondo y tonificado. La mayoría de las intervenciones se realizan en sedación y con anestesia local, tras las cual el paciente puede regresar a casa incluso en el mismo día de la operación. Apart from the spiritual goals, the physical postures of yoga can be used to alleviate health problems as well as to reduce stress, and even the most stubborn spiritual sceptic cannot deny the physical benefits of this feel-good, low-impact workout. Yoga is not a real workout If you think that yoga is just sitting in funny positions and balancing in pretty poses, then you are in for a great surprise. Whilst stretching and balancing make up much of the foundations, yoga classes can be rigorous hard core workouts for the whole body, ranging from hot yoga classes that demand great stamina to intense and concentrated position classes that require great core strength as you use your own body to support your weight. Of course there are gentler classes, such as Hatha Yoga and other slow-flowing classes, but it is fair to say that the more you put in the more you will get back. The deeper into a position you stretch, the suppler you will become and the greater the change you will notice in your body. There’s a brand new sport sweeping Europe and the world and you probably haven’t heard of it. An unlikely pair of sports, football and golf, have been combined to create a game that is now played in over 50 countries worldwide since its invention in 2009: the aptly named sport of FootGolf! As strange as it may seem, these two 100 year-old sports with seemingly completely different fan bases have united to form the fastest growing new sport in the world. It’s a simple concept that involves kicking a standard football around a golf course into oversized holes. The rules are essentially the same as golf, with the holes typically cut innocuously to the side of or behind the greens, protecting the green’s delicate surface. FootGolf Marbella opened its doors to the public on July 13th 2014 at El Campanario Golf and Country House. The partnership is heading into its third month in September and it looks like a perfect match. To date, hundreds of people have played FootGolf, many have played multiple times. Unlike golf, there are no barriers to

Colaborar con Vogue y revistas de moda tan importantes es fantástico. Me encantaría que dentro de muchos años la gente siga hablando de mi como fotógrafo de moda. Me considero fotógrafo de moda y retrato, intento mezclar estos dos estilos para hacer algo diferente y porque es el estilo que he encontrado o que me ha encontrado. Supongo que

Helmut Newton captó la naturalidad en el sexo, Anne Leibovitz la fotógrafa más influyente retrata como nadie a celebrities, pero que fotógrafos influyen a Rudolphi, quienes lo inspiran? Mario Testino, sin duda es un referente para todo fotógrafo de moda. Es un fotógrafo que sigo, que me inspira y que sigue trabajando hoy en día sin parar. Viaja durante todo el año a las ciudades mas importantes del mundo, para fotografiar para las revistas más importantes del mundo de la moda. El hecho de que Mario Testino me influya tanto, es que para mi, usa el estilo que tanto me gusta, que es mezclar moda y retrato, dandole

mucha importancia tanto a la ropa de alta moda como al personaje que la viste. Ya has encontrado el estilo que te hará famoso? En mi web podéis ver un estilo que se repite que ni yo se como definirlo, supongo que todo el mundo tiene un estilo, dependiendo de sus influencias o incluso de su personalidad. Lo importante es darte cuenta de cual es y perfeccionarlo. Está claro que trabajando mucho y ofreciendo algo diferente al público, hay mas probabilidad de éxito. Mi trabajo es una mezcla de la persona a fotografiar, la ropa, el ambiente y la iluminación. Teniendo todo eso bajo control puedes trabajar muy cómodo y sacar unas imágenes preciosas. El equipo de personas que trabaja conmigo es una parte muy importante de que en una producción todo vaya sobre ruedas.
