ONLINE LEARNING: HERE’S HOW IT WORKS Learning online has never been easier. Here are the five delivery styles we offer to suit different learning needs. You’ll find these options listed in the Delivery Style section of each listing.

ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS: This training is like traditional on-campus classes where students must be online in the virtual class during regular class times. ONLINE ASYNCHRONOUS: This training allows students to access course materials anytime. Work is designed to encourage virtual interaction with materials and instructor. ONLINE HYBRID: A combination of online synchronous and asynchronous learning. BLENDED: A combination of face-to-face and any type of online delivery style. FACE-TO-FACE: Learning occurs in person at a physical location.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED • An Internet-connected computer running Windows or macOS • Speakers or a headset • A web browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled • Plus, if the course includes online video-conferencing, you will need a webcam with microphone • Mobile devices: Not all course features are available on tablets or smartphones • Recommended web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge

LOCATION AND TIMES Programs and courses will include location and time information in the details. ONLINE Learning is both student and instructor directed, with instructors usually providing instruction during the regularly scheduled class time (synchronous). Some online courses are offered without regularly scheduled class times, but the instructor is usually available and has online office hours. The more you engage, the greater the connections you will have with the learning, your classmates and your instructor. KELOWNA, PENTICTON, REVELSTOKE, SALMON ARM OR VERNON Learning is delivered at one of the College’s campuses or a specified off-site location. It is a traditional face-to-face college course or for example a lab that is part of a course. We follow all guidelines by WorkSafeBC, the Provincial Health Officer and Interior Health to ensure a safe learning environment. TIMES If a time is specified, you should be prepared to be available at that time. If the course is online, you will attend virtually. If a campus is indicated, you are expected to attend on campus at that time.
