hi We are your six elected executive officers representing you this year. We all focus on different areas of the student experience, such as education or sport. We were voted in by the student body after a week long election process in order to represent you.

Jessica Small VP Welfare I’m Jess your VP Welfare for this year, I was a second year Psychology student when I was elected and I am taking time out from my studies for the role. Prior to becoming your VP Welfare I was a member of the Union Executive Committee and the Women’s Forum Representative. This year I am hoping to work on mental health, accessibility and equality, hopefully you will see some of my campaigns pop-up over the year! Twitter: @UPSUwelfare

stress less Stress Less is a wellbeing initiative ran by the Executive Officer team to promote self care and health during your studies. There will be lots of chances to get involved with Stress Less over the academic year and release any tension from student life!

hi Davide Bertelli VP International & Outreach My role is to represent international students and to help you make the most out of your University experience. I am an international student and I got involved with the Students’ Union because I am passionate about positive change and I feel I can contribute to raise the international students’ profile.

I am always more than happy to see any student and listen to any idea or suggestion you may have: feel free to come to the Hive to see me at any time during the year. I would like to work closely with Forums and Societies to organise campaigns and projects together. Twitter: @UPSUIntOut

international students

students’ union The Students’ Union offers extensive support for international students, providing many different outlets to help and support you. The SU advice centre is able to read through and help you understand housing contracts for you, as well as providing support on issues around student life. We facilitate societies for international students, such as the Nepalese, Nigerian, Chinese, Afro-Caribbean and many more! Societies make up the core of student life, providing opportunities for engagement, representation and to make friends.

Is your Nationality represented by any students’ society? No? Well, the SU always welcomes new societies and it is really easy to start a new one. Have a look: upsu.com/societies We also provide student forums as an outlet for students to discuss ideas, issues and proposals to feedback to the Executive Officer Team. They aim at bringing all the students together to make a positive and long-lasting impact. The chairperson of each forum sits on the UEC (Union Executive Committee) and has the right to vote for or against motions put forward by students.
