“I feel very proud and honoured to have signed a new contract to be manager of Yeovil Town.”
WHERE CAN
YEOVIL EXACTLY FINISH
THIS SEASON? BY OLLIE KEABLE
Y
eovil Town have 5 games reamining to life in League 2 and first up is a trip to rivals and promotion hopefulls Bristol Rovers. With Rovers promotion hopes all but secured, it ponders the question, Where exactly can Yeovil finish this season IF they win all their remaining games.
Yeovil currently lie in 20th place with 5 remainign games yet to play, and fans are begining to ask where exactly can they fininish. With Darren Way finidng a new rejocyed wining run all bar a few results, it seems that everything is pon the up for the somerset outfits.
ONE LAST TRIP
Yeovil’s finall away game will be against Barnet on Saturday 30th April. A game which would secure mid table for both teams. A win for Yeovil would see them over take Barnet if results went their way , and of course previous results fortuned them.
FIRST UP BRISTOL ROVERS
THE LAST GAME AT HOME
Yeovil take a short trip to long term rivals Bristol Rovers on Saturday 16th April in a game that could see Rovers all but book a place in a play off position. But if yeovil win they can climb the table to as high as 19th a position which looked highly unlikey at the turn of the new year. But after Darren Ways massive impression as manager, anything seems possible.
Yeovil play their last game at Huish Park on May 7th against play off hopefulls Leyton Orient, in a game which could see Orient secire that final play in the play offs or see Yeovil rise to 13th position in the league and mid table security.
SECONDLY A TRIP TO WYCOMBE ANYONE? Yeovil will yet again be on their travels 3 days later to Wcoymb Wanderes for a 19:45 kick off. 3 points on the road would see the Somerset club rise as hig as 16th if results turn in favor. A win for Wycombe would see there hopes of that final play off spot strengthen.
So there you have it Yeovil could finish as high as 13th places in the league if they win all their games and results go their way. But what we haven’t looked at where they could finish if they didnt do so well, with Yeovil not secure in the league if results go against them the Glovers could find the selfs relegated out of the football league.
CHAMPIONS WILL BE CROWNED Yeovil wil host top of the table Northampton town in their 2nd to last home match. A night where Nothamtpton could see them selves crowned as League 2 champs.

eovil fell to their first defeat at home since Darren Way took charge as Exeter ran out 2-0 winners at Huish Park in Sky Bet League Two. The Grecians scored the first opposition goal at Yeovil since Portsmouth’s equaliser against Town in February, as Ollie Watkins volleyed past former Exeter keeper Artur Krysiak.
Exeter: Olejnik- Moore-Taylor,Woodman, Brown, McAllister- Noble, Harley, Holmes, Taylor (Davies 85’)- Stockley, Watkins (Nicholls 83’). Subs not used: Ribeiro, Wheeler, Tillson, Pym, Grant. Booked: Watkins 9’, Holmes 52’
And the win was sealed when Jake Taylor made it two in the second half as the Devon side left Huish Park with all three points, as Town lost at home in League Two action since November.

But despite Yeovil starting the game brightly, it was the visitors who took the lead on 15 minutes. After a onetwo with teammate Holmes on the edge of the area, Watkins made space to fire low past Krysiak in front of the home terrace. The opener was against the run of the play, and despite conceding their first goal for 472 minutes at Huish Park, Town looked to get back into the game straight away. Several crosses flew into the Exeter area, but agonisingly Yeovil failed to capitalise. The Grecians nearly made it two when Taylor’s drive from outside the box hit Krysiak’s right-hand post, before Stockley’s acrobatic volley flew just over the bar as the visitors looked to double their lead. It was a case of Yeovil having more of the ball but the visitors having the more clear-cut chances. Town had a big opportunity to equalise with ten minutes of the half left as a flowing move found Zoko with only the goalkeeper to beat, but the Ivorian shot straight at Bobby Olejnik from ten yards out. As the game restarted, Yeovil started with real verve. Kevin Dawson ran at the Exeter defence and shot with the outside of his foot, but his effort in front of the home terrace went just wide of the Grecians’ goal. Darren Way looked to get his side back into the game, and introduced the attacking threat of Harry Cornick and Jack Compton for Ben Tozer and Tahvon Campbell within ten minutes of the restart.
Stockley again went close to doubling the lead for the visitors with a 25-yard free-kick as his shot flew towards the top corner, but Town keeper Krysiak gathered well. But the Grecians made it 2-0 with twenty minutes to go. Taylor wriggled down the right-hand channel and his first shot was saved well by Krysiak. But the winger was first to the rebound and his shot smashed into the net to send the travelling supporters into raptures. The pitch was becoming more and more slippery as the hail bucketed down, and Exeter very nearly made it three. As the ball came out to Taylor from a corner, his shot cannoned into Krysiak, but this time the rebound was kind and the ball was cleared. Ryan Bird was brought on as Way made his last throw of the dice, and the striker went close to halving the deficit as he met Compton’s corner, but the Exeter defence got in the way to stop it going in. Compton forced Olejnik into a fine save as the clock ticked down towards full time, but Exeter and their vocal travelling support left as the first away side to win at Huish Park in the league since Wycombe in November.

SUPER FAN NOMINATED FOR AWARD
T
he Football League have announced the shortlist for the Capital One Supporter of the Year award, with the winner to be revealed at the Football League Awards 2016 this Sunday. The shortlist was revealed on BBC 5 Live’s 606 show and is made up of one fan from each division, with each being the Capital One Supporter of the Year in their division. Supporters representing Bristol City, Colchester United and Yeovil Town are included and will be invited to attend the gala ceremony in Manchester alongside some of the stars of the Football League season.
20
The three fans on the shortlist are: Oskar Pycroft (Bristol City) – Championship Eight year-old Oskar never misses a Bristol City home match and his own home is awash with club merchandise and memorabilia. He has cerebral palsy but his devotion and passion for his club, along with the dedication he has shown in his long battle to walk so he could lead out his team, has made him an inspiration to his fellow fans and anyone fighting against a severe illness or disease. Not only has he become a totemic figure at Ashton Gate, his passion as a fan has resonated with others to the extent he even inspired fans of rivals Bristol Rovers to back his cause. Tommy Leggett (Colchester United) – League 1 Tommy is a Colchester United fan whose support for the club has helped him to make a difference. His son Alfie was diagnosed with a rare condition which will leave him blind and most-likely deaf as he grows older. In order to raise money for him and having to start at 4:30am, Tommy recently ran nearly 40 miles from his sides’ Weston Community Home Stadium to their Essex rivals, Southend United’s, Roots Hall Stadium, arriving in time for the derby. He raised over £3,500 for Alfie’s treatment, uniting two sets of supporters who for every other day of the year will be ardent rivals. Pat Custard (Yeovil Town) – League 2 Pat is a woman who would do anything for anyone and her selflessness has made her a
massive part of Yeovil Town Football Club. Pat volunteers at the club to help improve matchdays for other supports and people visiting Huish Park – anything from arranging tickets for fans who cannot get to the ticket office to painting the ground during pre-season. Pat also follows Yeovil up and down the country, never missing a match and even insisting on paying for her season ticket despite her dedication to helping out at the club preventing her from catching the whole of games. The Capital One Supporter of the Year is one of 10 categories that will see trophies presented at the Football League Awards 2016. Shortlists for categories recognising club’s community, youth development and family focussed activity have already been announced, as well as the shortlist for the best goal of 2015. Shortlists for the Sky Bet Players of the Year and Football League Young Player of the Year will be revealed Sunday. For the first time this year the Awards will also recognise the best 11 players and manager from across the 72 clubs, with the ‘Football Manager Team of the Season’ to be announced on the night. WThe Football League Awards has a new venue this season with it being held in Manchester for the first time. Live updates as the winners are announced will be provided via The Football League’s Twitter page, @football_league.
