DEAR VALUED GUEST Welcome aboard Carnival Panorama, the third in Carnival Cruise Line’s Vista class which introduced a number of innovations, new accommodation categories and other cruise industry firsts. Carnival Panorama offers all of the popular features of her sisters, Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon, along with several unique features, including Sky Zone — the first trampoline park at sea —as well as the line’s first-ever Choose Fun water park and its first culinary studio, an interactive experience offering cooking demonstrations, tastings and more. Our two-decades-long close relationship with our Italian shipyard partner Fincantieri gives us access to the latest shipbuilding and design technologies, and Carnival Panorama represents the pinnacle of our combined experience of building dozens of ships together.
MICKY ARISON
Carnival Panorama is also the product of thousands of creative, talented and dedicated people who have worked for many months to bring her to life. I commend the many team members at Carnival Cruise Line who helped plan, design and complete this exciting new addition to the fleet. As you explore the ship during your cruise, please take a moment to appreciate the quality of the craftsmanship throughout the vessel, from the distinctive lounges, elegant dining spaces and spacious staterooms. This ship was built for your comfort, safety and enjoyment. May you take home fun memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for choosing Carnival Cruise Line for your vacation. Sincerely,

LEADERSHIP
AT THE HELM
The Captain and Senior Officers The senior leadership team launching Carnival Panorama bring to the ship almost 100 years’ combined experience at Carnival Cruise Line. They are three of the most talented and experienced mariners in the cruise industry:
Captain
CARLO QUEIROLO
A 33-year Carnival veteran, Captain Queirolo joined the company as a deck cadet aboard TSS Festivale in 1985 and, after moving up the ranks, was named captain in 1996. During his three-plus decades at sea, he has commanded just about every ship in the Carnival fleet and has been part of the inaugural teams for Carnival Elation, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Glory and Carnival Dream. He is a native of Rapallo, Italy.
Chief Engineer
NUNZIO PRIOLO
Nunzio Priolo joined Carnival in 1980 as a third officer after serving in the Italian Navy and working aboard a number of cargo vessels. After moving up the ranks, he was named chief engineer in 2004 and was part of the start-up team for Carnival Miracle in 2004. Over his extensive Carnival career, he has served on nearly every ship in the fleet. He is a native of Catania, Sicily.
Hotel Director
DAMIR MRSIC Damir Mrsic joined Carnival in 1993 as a member of the beverage operations team and was named hotel director in 2009. During his Carnival career, he has worked as bar manager and food and beverage manager, while serving on the start-up teams for Carnival Legend, Carnival Freedom and Carnival Splendor. A native of Zadar, Croatia, Mrsic graduated from the Maritime Academy in Salzburg, Austria. He worked in several hotels along the Adriatic Sea before joining Carnival. CARNIVAL PANORAMA 7

JOHN HEALD CARNIVAL’S FACE OF FUN
The quick-witted cruise enthusiast shares how the good times are about to roll right here on board.
He has launched 17 Carnival ships as cruise director in a shipboard career spanning 32 years, and some say John Heald’s presence on board is a sure sign of good times ahead. We caught up with Heald to learn a few fun facts about Carnival Panorama.

Love John Heald? Love all things Carnival? Visit shop.carnival.com, the cruise industry’s first-ever digital shopping store, for exclusive brand merchandise — from ugly holiday sweaters to cruise-themed charms, including one inspired by John himself (opposite page). What are you most excited about with Carnival Panorama? I think I’m most excited for the people on the West Coast. They are true Carnival Cruise Line fans and I have read so much on my Facebook page from so many different people about just how thrilled they are to have a new ship sailing from Long Beach, California. What’s the first thing you’ll try when you arrive on the ship? Do you think you’ll try the trampoline? Absolutely and I shall do it in my spandex Choose Fun aerodynamic clothing. Seriously, this is going to be such a great addition and I know the kids will be excited but I would not be surprised if older people join in on the fun as well. What features and experiences should guests absolutely not miss? Well, for those of you who don’t know me I think you need to look at the photo of me before I answer this question. Then you will understand why I’m going to head towards the word “food” first. We have come so far in my 32 years and the fact that we have so many different culinary options and variety of choices is quite breathtaking. I definitely would not miss any of the food outlets, from JiJi Asian Kitchen to a whole smorgasbord of selections on Lido.
What makes these features so special? I guess for me because I remember the days when the only decision on Lido deck was whether you wanted cheese on your burger or not. So to see such a choice in variet y and such brilliantly tasty food is something that I am quite astonished at. And then when you look at the entertainment selections with all the live music, incredible new shows and comedy club, Panorama will really be something that will be jaw-dropping to everyone in so many different ways. You’ve launched so many ships in your career with Carnival. What are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen over the years? Yes, I’ve launched 17 new ships as cruise director. I think apart from what I just mentioned with food, certainly the areas that we have given to children are important. The real estate that they have on the ship demonstrates just how important our space in the industry as a family cruise line is still. The one thing that has not changed in my 32 years is the crew. Ever since I started until today it has been the crew that have always been and always will be our secret sauce and I’m so proud of them all. What are you eager to see come to life in the next new build, Mardi Gras? I honestly never thought that I would see the day in my career when a ship of this size would offer so many unique, exciting and quite honestly incomparable features. This really will be the icing on the Carnival fun cake and I truly believe she will be the best ship at sea. Stay tuned for more on all the fun!
Aboard Carnival Dream in 2009, Heald introduces the ship’s godmother, Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden.

GODMOTHER VANNA WHITE SETS SAIL Vanna White is known for adorning America’s TV screens as co-host of the popular game show Wheel of Fortune. For the past 37 years, she has watched over the contestants of the show and applauded their success. Now, she’ll be watching over the guests and crew of Carnival Panorama as godmother to the new ship. Carnival’s choice is the perfect one. Wheel of Fortune and Carnival Cruise Line have a natural connection. Wheel of Fortune slot machines are popular attractions in the casinos across the Carnival fleet. White touches the letters of the puzzleboard and the hearts of the show’s contestants when she reveals the puzzles that reward millions in cash, prizes and vacations including Carnival cruises. “Vanna has been that welcoming face, cheering on and watching over Wheel of Fortune contestants for decades. We love the fact that Vanna will be doing the same for Carnival Panorama, her guests and crew, as the ship’s godmother,” says Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
WHEELY FUN FACTS ABOUT VANNA She has never worn the same dress twice on the show. All of her dresses on Wheel of Fortune are borrowed from designers and are accompanied by shoes that she owns. She once owned two Learjets. She was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 20, 2006. She is 5'6" without her 4-inch heels. Wheel of Fortune celebrated its 7,000th episode in syndication on May 10, 2019. She was inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame in April 2018.

LIFE TAKES A SPIN Before winning her role at the puzzleboard, White spent her childhood in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She attended the Atlanta School of Fashion Design and became one of the area’s top models, and then took a leap of faith and moved across the country to pursue acting in Los Angeles. In 1982, she was one of 200 hopefuls auditioning to co-host Wheel of Fortune. Merv Griffin, the show’s creator, said he chose her for the coveted spot because “she turned the letters the best.” Little did she know that this game show would change her future forever. Now, over 7,000 episodes later, she’s one of TV’s most popular hostesses, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a place in the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame. She has her own line of yarn, called “Vanna’s Choice.” A portion of proceeds from sales of the yarn is donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, of which Carnival is a longtime supporter. Her list of accomplishments continues to grow as she steps into her new role as godmother to Carnival Panorama. “Carnival Cruise Line has been delivering fun and memorable vacations while taking great care of their guests for almost 50 years, and it is such an honor to be asked to be a part of their newest ship coming to California,” says White. Duffy is excited about the new godmother and knows that Carnival has made the right selection. “Every night, millions of Americans welcome Vanna into their home,” she says. “Beloved by millions, she’s the perfect choice as the godmother to our newest ship.”
“Whenever we give away a Carnival cruise on the show, it always generates excitement and I can’t wait to see the ship and meet the crew!” — Vanna White

FUN FIRSTS Are you ready to Choose Fun on the high seas? Because that’s what awaits you on Carnival Panorama, the third in Carnival’s highly popular Vista class of ships. The ship offers several impressive firsts. It’s Carnival’s first new ship in 20 years to be homeported on the West Coast, where it has settled into an expanded and transformed cruise terminal at Long Beach, Calfornia. The terminal boasts striking new design elements like a Sierra Nevada backdrop and the cruise industry’s first-ever 1980s-style arcade for your enjoyment. On the ship, you’ll have hours of fun soaring and jumping in the first-ever Sky Zone trampoline park at sea or zipping down the slides at the splash-tastic Choose Fun aqua park, endorsed by Carnival’s very own Chief Fun Officer, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Leading the shipboard fun are the cruise industry’s first female duo, Cruise Director Emma Nixon and Entertainment Director Brittany Boyd, ready to make this your most memorable vacation ever. Foodies get their own place to play at sea: the first Carnival Kitchen. Take a cooking class, treat your palate to special tastings and join other hands-in activities hosted by talented chefs.
Opposite: Splash it up at the new Choose Fun aqua park, which a certain expert (OK, it’s Shaq) has determined is “very very very very very very fun.” Above: See what’s cookin’ at the first Carnival Kitchen.
Shipboard entertainment literally hits the heights with Carnival’s first-ever “dancing drones.” They interact with the shows’ music and 12 talented performers to add an exciting, never-before-seen visual element to the show experience. With all the new feaures, don’t worry: Classic fun is still on board. Hit the links on the mini-golf course, shoot hoops on the basketball court or try the challenging ropes course offering heart-racing views to the sea 150 feet below. Dig into a juicy burger at Guy’s Burger Joint or Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse; feast on Asian cuisine at JiJi Asian Kitchen; or carve into a decadent steak at Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse. Let the fun begin!
We interrupt this page for an important message from the CFO:

HISTORY IN THE MAKING Welcome to the West Coast, Carnival Panorama! You’ve set sail on Carnival Panorama, but do you know you’re part of history? This is the first new Carnival ship to be based on the West Coast in 20 years. It’s a perfect fit for Carnival, which hosts more guests sailing from Long Beach, California — over 600,000 — than any other cruise line. To get ready for Carnival Panorama, the Long Beach terminal underwent a multimillion-dollar makeover that nearly tripled the available size and added some striking new features with recognizable California landmarks, including a backdrop of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range. The dome was once home to the Spruce Goose, aviation legend Howard Hughes’ famed wooden airplane, and it now pays homage with a replica of the craft. It also houses the original model of the plane used in the 2004 Leonardo DiCaprio movie The Aviator, giving it that Hollywood flair. And if that doesn’t impress the kids, they’ll love playing video games, another new addition to the terminal. It will keep them entertained while they wait to get their seagoing vacation started. “The Long Beach cruise terminal underwent a complete transformation to improve all aspects of the embarkation and debarkation process for our guests,” says Fred Stein, Carnival vice president of revenue planning & deployment, revenue planning and pricing. “The new design is truly beautiful and creates a great first and last impression of the cruise experience. Guest ratings speak for themselves with our scores at record levels as the embarkation/debarkation experience is one of the key factors for how our guests rate their overall cruise experience.”

Tossing confetti to celebrate the Long Beach terminal’s grand reopening.
Ensuring guests’ experience is memorable from beginning to end, Carnival Panorama was carefully selected as the ship to debut in Long Beach for several reasons, Stein adds. It’s the only ship on the West Coast to offer over-the-top amenities like an onboard brewery, SkyRide and the only Sky Zone at sea, not to mention hundreds of balcony staterooms for watching the passing scenery.
“It was time for us to take our West Coast program to a whole new level and Carnival Panorama was the perfect ship to make this happen.” — Fred Stein Vice President of Revenue Planning & Deployment, Revenue Planning and Pricing
“Carnival Panorama is perfectly suited for West Coast cruising and we know that it will be a big hit with our loyal past guests as well as help us to attract first-time cruisers,” says Stein. “It was time for us to take our West Coast program to a whole new level and Carnival Panorama was the perfect ship to make this happen.” The West Coast fun doesn’t stop in the cruise terminal, as Carnival Panorama is part of the company’s West Coast expansion that includes a return to San Diego and a new schedule from San Francisco aboard Carnival Miracle.

Cruise Director Emma Nixon
A six-year Carnival veteran, Nixon served as comedy club manager and assistant cruise director before being named cruise director of Carnival Spirit in 2015. She’s known for her positive nature and infectious laugh. DESIGN PERSPECTIVE
AN IN-DEPTH DESIGN
Sailing along on the open ocean, Carnival Panorama embodies a connection to the sea just about anywhere you look. Keeping this connection in mind, the design team set out to keep the feeling flowing from deck to deck.
Connection to the sea from deck to deck
The main goal was to evoke the excitement of passengers the minute they board – a “wow” factor, if you will. The stunning décor and seemingly endless array of activities on board certainly accomplishes that. “The design and architecture of the Vista class has been very popular, so we kept the principles of those but also have new concepts,” says Petu Kummala, Carnival senior director of interior design & architecture. “For example, the Sky Zone trampoline park is completely new and a first on a cruise ship, while the atrium and promenade principal architecture remain the same. However, the design itself is warmer and exciting while maintaining the contemporary look that distinguishes the Vista class.” The atrium grabs everyone’s immediate attention, creating that wide-eyed, mouth-drop-open, can’t-wait-to-set-sail feeling. After all, you only get one chance to make a first impression. “The principle of the atrium, basically any atrium we design, is to create a level of excitement the moment guests board their cruise,” says Kummala. “The moment you step into the atrium, you will see the open, large and high space with the Dreamscape centerpiece creating that WOW moment.” At the same time, designers sought to make the space as welcoming as possible. “We especially want to keep the first-time guest from being hesitant of entering an enclosed, crowded environment,” he says.

CREATING EXCITEMENT The creative process when designing the ship was a unified effort. As with all of Carnival’s projects, the internal team typically works with two to four outside designers alongside their own talented in-house design team. Bringing the ship to life is what excites the design team, from creating the overall general arrangement of the entire vessel to the room layouts. Both are integral steps to a successful design. “I’m a firm believer that having a good plan is the basis of all good design. You can create something beautiful but if the plan and layout doesn’t work, the overall design is not successful,” he says. The process begins with preliminary concept sketches, then moves on to more detailed designs, working closely with onboard operators the entire time. The detailed designs are then presented, and once approved, the project can move forward. After the design team completes their work, the shipyard and contractors build mock-ups and the ship starts coming to life. “We travel to the yard to see the mock-ups in person which helps us, together with the yard and their contractors, to create solutions to the problems that always arise with new and complex designs. This is a very important step in the overall process for that reason and where we start seeing the small parts of how the finished designs will look. It’s always exciting as it is the step where the designs start taking concrete shape,” he says. No design is truly complete, though, until the guests come on board. “That is always the most exciting part, when you see guests come on board, gaze around and really start enjoying our creation,” says Kummala.
CONNECTING WITH THE SEA On Carnival Panorama, those gazes will immediately see how the connection to the sea is highlighted around the ship. It’s that seamless blend that distinguishes a cruise vacation from a landbased one. The design team works to capitalize on this and taking advantage of the ever-changing experience a cruise affords. “Because of the constantly changing sights of sunsets and sunrises, we want to ensure we have inviting outside areas for lounging and windows that are as large as possible to create these incredible views,” he says. Some examples of these areas are the aft balconies on Deck 2 that are very close to the sea – just 28 feet above the water line, in fact — and offer a wonderful vantage of the ship’s wake. This creates another WOW moment, and it could be where you might spot a dolphin or two!
Guests can feel like they are one with the sea on the large lanai deck that encircles Deck 5 with outside dining options and bars and private Havana stateroom patios. Lie back in a chaise lounge chair or sway back and forth in a swinging hammock overlooking the vast ocean, facing the open-air outdoor promenade with easy access to the Havana Bar and Pool. Mojitos anyone? On the upper decks the team maximized the space to incorporate entertainment, activities and dining options that all have “a view and connection to the sea,” he says. On Deck 12, the Choose Fun aqua park will take hold of you with two distinctly different slides, each promising their own splash-tastic fun. Zip down the 455-foot-long Red Fun and the 300-foot-long Blue Fun. Now imagine experiencing this with the ocean stretching out before you. Bet you’re already planning how many visits you can squeeze in, right? Carnival’s Seaside Theatre is an open-air entertainment complex that’s home to the popular Dive-In Movies. You’ll watch more than just nightly movies on the 270-square-foot LED screen; concerts and sporting events are also screened there. Relax under the stars and take a peek at the ocean every once in a while. Challenge yourself while breathing in the crisp ocean air at SportSquare, an open-air recreation complex. Maybe you prefer to put pedal to the airborne metal on the SkyRide, a bike-ride-inthe-sky attraction that takes you around the deck. Hunger can easily set in after all this fun and Carnival Panorama offers plenty of open-air dining options. Enjoy patio seating at: • Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse, where napkins are a necessity. • Fahrenheit 555, a classic American steakhouse. • The Library Bar, a warm and cozy venue. Come on board and you’re sure to feel that connection to the sea from the moment you enter the atrium and as you make your way from deck to deck. The design team worked hard to ensure this is your experience — one that you’ll remember and want to repeat as often as possible. Opposite: Sketching the creative concept of the Library Bar. “I’m a firm believer that having a good plan is the basis of all good design,” says Petu Kummala, head of the design team.

PLACING OF THE COIN
An ancient tradition celebrates construction.
Executives and shipyard workers celebrate a major construction milestone. Bottom photo, from left: Antonio Quintano, director of the Fincantieri shipayrd in Marghera, Italy; Benoit Clement, Carnival senior vice president of new builds; and event godmother Antonella Cazzin, longtime Fincantieri employee. Far-right photo, from left: Benoit Clement with Antonella Cazzin and Marco Scaramuccia, Carnival Panorama project manager, Carnival corporate shipbuilding. Top, inset: The commemorative coin, which legend says will bring good fortune to the new ship.
The teams who built Carnival Panorama commemorated the ship’s exterior outfitting with the time-honored maritime tradition of welding a coin to the ship. The ceremony dates to the ancient Romans, who believed that attaching coins to a ship provided divine protection. Representing Carnival at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, was Benoit Clement, senior vice president of new builds. Antonella Cazzin, a Fincantieri employee for more than 35 years, served as godmother for the event. The Carnival Panorama commemorative coin is available for purchase in The Fun Ships on board — a unique remembrance of this special cruise.

Carnival’s onboard retail shops have always been the place to find the latest name brands and talked-about trends. Now, Carnival Panorama is taking The Fun Shops to a whole new level — not just in size but in the brands and experiences offered. It’s the culmination of everything Carnival has achieved in years of leading the innovation of shopping at sea, says William Butler, vice president of retail services. “A lot of features from previous ships are fully realized on Carnival Panorama,” he says. “We’re building off of many things that have been very successful for us, which creates a whole new shopping experience — testing and trying some new brands that have never been at sea before, and presenting them in creative new ways that we think will really resonate with our guests.” The new Fun Shops offer: • Exclusive Carnival designs created by celebrated fine jewelry brand Effy • Carnival’s largest dedicated area for fragrance and beauty • More attention-getting spaces for both fine timepieces and fashion watches • An expanded collection of Carnival-branded merchandise • The fleet’s largest Cherry on Top™ store

EFFY EXCLUSIVES The Fun Shops carry a full assortment of jewelry by Effy, the brand world-renowned for exquisite craftsmanship of diamond and gemstone designs. Effy collections feature designs exclusive to Carnival Panorama, including a special inaugural collection created to commemorate the new ship — the first-ever Carnival branded jewelry by Effy. Effy is the perfect choice for The Fun Shops; both combine classic style with a modern sensibility. The company was founded more than 30 years ago by Effy Hematian, who built his jewelry business into one of the most admired and respected in the industry. The company is especially renowned for its colored gemstones and for the quality and craftsmanship that go into each design. Effy uses more than 150,000 carats of precious gemstones each year, and they’re hand sorted at the company’s New York City factory. “From day one,” Hematian says, “I’ve been obsessed with quality and craftsmanship. If you have a true passion for what you do, anything is possible.” Butler is excited about adding the Carnival name to Effy’s creations. “It’s a great new way of enhancing our fine jewelry collection,” he says.
BEAUTY & FRAGRANCE: LET’S MAKEUP Carnival hasn’t just created its largest beauty and fragrance space, but has made great use of the extra real estate. Besides taking home the top skincare, cosmetics and fragrance brands on your wish list, you can try on the products and even explore a new look with full beauty makeovers. Make an appointment with one of the experts at HipFish™ Beauty and you’ll be ready for your close-up in that special photo shoot on deck or your glamorous evening out.
WATCHES: TAKE YOUR TIME Selling areas for watches have been enhanced for greater appeal, and “we’re introducing a lot of great new brands,” Butler says. Perhaps the most striking thing is that the watch space doesn’t segregate “fine” and “fashion” watches, but brings them together. It reflects the way guests shop for watches back home, choosing a Swiss timepiece for formal or high-visibility occasions, fashion watches for more casual moments in the day. Why keep them apart in the store, when they work together in real life?
Top and above: Effy fine jewelry. Left: TAG Heuer Carrera watch. Remember your cruise every day with a Carnival refrigerator magnet.
And as Butler says, “It’s an awesome assortment of both fine watch brands and fashion watch brands.” Why not celebrate both?

BEYOND THE LOGO When it came time to create their new season of exclusive branded merchandise, Carnival designers decided to think outside the logo. Far more than a logo attached to T-shirts, mugs and ship models, these are collections meant to be used and displayed proudly to stir memories. There’s exclusive Carnival Panorama merchandise, of course, but also the Heritage Collection of classic brands and the California Collection celebrating the spirit of the Golden State. Don’t worry; you can still get a miniature model of Carnival Panorama or a T-shirt that declares what an incredible time you had on the new ship. But for originality and style appeal, Butler says, “We think this is the strongest we’ve ever had when it comes to inaugural merchandise.”
MUCH MORE IN STORE There’s lots more to talk about, but you’ll have to see for yourself. Be sure to stop by to explore must-have creations from coveted brands, including John Hardy and Swarovski. Check your Fun Times for the latest special event or sale, where you’re likely to save even more than The Fun Shops’ usual tax and duty free prices. Here on board, shopping really is an event. “The Fun Shops are a further extension of the cruise experience, and the assortment we’ve curated for Carnival Panorama really attests to that,” Butler says. “The brands we offer and the way we present them are meant to emulate the experience that our guests have had elsewhere on the ship.” The Fun Shops are open on sea days and in the evening when the ship has left port. Stop by and let an associate help you find something fun and fabulous! Shop assortment may vary by voyage.

FOCUSED ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Diamonds International and Crown of Light It’s known as one of the the world’s largest tax and duty free diamond retailers and one of the largest employers on the islands where it operates, with an unwavering focus on corporate and social responsibility and giving back to the communities it serves around the world.
Bringing a Shine Back to the Islands In 2017, the Caribbean was hit with one of the most horrific hurricane seasons in recorded history. Shortly after, the cruise industry played a vital role in the reconstruction of the islands. Being located throughout the Caribbean, Diamonds International was an integral part of the rebuilding process, and came to the islands’ aid by chartering planes with supplies, food and water, rebuilding homes and keeping everyone’s job intact at a time when it had to close 20 stores. The company is the main sponsor of the Baby Haven orphanage in Namibia, southern Africa, providing food, clothes, shelter and toys through generous contributions every year. But it’s not just about the retailer donating money. Employees are not afraid to get their hands dirty! BRING YOUR APPETITE
From casual dining to sophisticated meals, there’s plenty to offer. Carnival Panorama is a foodie’s dream, with a tempting variety of international cuisines offered at a multitude of full-service restaurants and casual dining spots throughout the ship. Anything you crave, from classic American barbecue and steak to adventurous Italian, Asian and Mexican cuisine, is yours to savor. Here’s a taste of the menu:
Buffet: Lido Marketplace Stroll the poolside venue, where you can map out your food adventures for the entire length of the cruise. Extensive hot and cold buffets are themed each day, so one day could be Caribbean fare and the next could be Italian cuisine. Feel like a slice? Grab one (or a few) with a selection of five different toppings from quattro fromagi to pepperoni at the 24-hour pizzeria Pizzeria del Capitano. Also at the Marketplace, you can help yourself to an overstuffed burrito on a fresh tortilla at the BlueIguana Cantina, bite into a juicy burger personalized with a choice of dozens upon dozens topping variations at Guy’s Burger Joint (also from Guy Fieri) or dive into a luscious lobster roll from the nearby Seafood Shack. Plus, there’s a deli with all types of sandwiches and traditional sides or cap off your meal with a host of handmade sweets from the dessert station.
Small Plates: Alchemy Bar Tantalizing choices — called Alchemy Bar Snacks — pair perfectly with Alchemy’s hand-crafted libations like the Island Old Fashioned, Cucumber Sunrise or The Perfect Storm, which are created by lab-coated mixologists at the popular cocktail pharmacy-themed lounge.

Cucina del Capitano
Italian: Cucina del Capitano Carnival’s storied history with Italy — all of its captains are Italian — means Cucina del Capitano’s menu of classics, served family-style in an atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy Italian home, is a must try. Not just a treat for the palate, it’s a delight for all the senses. The ever-popular singing waiters serenade guests; walls are adorned with childhood photos of the captains; kitchen aromas waft across the dining room, fragrant reminders of the captains‘ homeland. Start off with Nonna’s Meatball covered in tomato sauce or with a creamy, housemade burrata served with chardonnay-poached cherry tomatoes. The Captain’s Signature Dish is a rotating specialty that’s a choice among risotto, branzino, chicken parmigiana and many other Italian classics. Finish the meal with one of three Italian desserts and, of course, an espresso. Treats: JavaBlue Café When you need a jolt of caffeine, head to the JavaBlue Café where they offer lattes, cappuccinos and other caffeinated favorites, as well as “spiked” coffees made with liqueurs, and deliciously decadent confections. So…are you hungry yet?
Cucina del Capitano’s antipasti board (left) and spaghetti beckon a rustic Italian country-home atmosphere famiglia-style.

SPECIAL ADVERTISING FEATURE
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE LAUNCH OF CARNIVAL PANORAMA™ Milano Diamond Gallery We are proud to go into the blue with you! Milano Diamond Gallery is a family-owned business that has continuously innovated the Caribbean jewelry market, from being one of the first trusted retailers in the early ’90s to becoming a manufacturer with an extensive collection of fine jewelry. Today, Milano looks to continue raising the bar with unique designs that use the best materials in the industry at unbeatable price points.
“My mom is my inspiration” — Rahul Kheskwani
Jewelry Tips from Milano Diamond Gallery Chief Operating Officer and GIA-certified gemologist Rahul Kheskwani offers this advice: 1.
Diamond Studs
• Go for size. Don’t focus on the color or clarity as no one
is going to look at them too closely.
• Always try them on. Diamonds always look bigger
when worn than in the showcase.
2. Pendants
“The Islands have been good to us, so we always need to give back.” — Rahul Kheskwani
• Look for maximum sparkle or design. This is the most
looked-at piece of jewelry a woman wears.
• Try on the piece and shimmy around a bit to be sure it lies flat
and doesn’t twist and that the chain is the perfect length for you.
Milano’s Baguette & Round Diamond Ring Collection is a perfect updated spin on an old classic.

Diamond Tennis Bracelets:
• Lay the bracelet flat. Examine color and size and make
sure they all match.
• If the bracelet is hard to get on and off, that’s actually a
good thing. This is one piece of jewelry that gets the most
wear and tear and you want it to be secure.
Milano manufactures the Dancing Diamond Collection using a patented mechanism for the setting to allow the diamonds continuous movement. A must see in port.

WHERE THE FUN MEETS THE SEA
If you’re looking for a seagoing adventure jam-packed with family-friendly entertainment, you’ve cast off with the right crew. We’re talking nostalgic fun with Hasbro games; your chance to channel your inner rock or pop star with Lip Sync Battle: Carnival; morning-to-night activities for toddlers; and a hangout spot for teens. Cap the night off with one of Carnival’s award-winning Playlist Productions shows. “Adding a Vista class ship to the West Coast is incredibly exciting,” says Christopher Nelson, Carnival’s vice president of entertainment. While all ages and cruise styles are covered, families will be especially thrilled. “Families will love the youth spaces, outer decks and live entertainment,” Nelson says. “They will experience great entertainment together as well as break apart and find moments to do their own thing. I think their favorite part will be boosting their adrenaline in the Sky Zone. This is a perfect experience for the entire family and is something they have not experienced at sea before.”
LIP SYNC BATTLE: CARNIVAL Chances are you’ve watched the Emmy-Award winning Paramount Network TV show Lip Sync Battle, with hosts Chrissy Teigen and Rapper LL Cool J. Here you can compete in Carnival’s onstage adaptation that lets you channel your inner idols and make the crowd go wild. Following a spirited tryout on the lido deck, finalists will step up to the signature Lip Sync Battle marquee, pick from a variety of props for authenticity and let the Carnival team do the rest with lights, music and backup dancers. See if you have what it takes to be crowned champ, pose with the coveted LSB belt and take home an exclusive gift. CARNIVAL PANORAMA 61

WHERE THE FUN MEETS THE SEA PLAYLIST PRODUCTIONS Your cruise wouldn’t be complete without a first-rate show in the multi-level Liquid Lounge, where there’s not a bad seat in the house. On Carnival Panorama you can choose from two new shows or opt for one of the audience favorites, and if you’re a total Playlist Productions fan, catch them all. You won’t want to miss these two new shows, exclusively presented on Carnival Panorama, that pay homage to the Woodstock era and all things New York City. Developed by Carnival’s in-house creative team and some of the top producers from London’s West End, Las Vegas and New York, the hightech Playlist Productions shows combine a great musical score, talented singers and dancers, amazing costumes and scenery designs, against a backdrop of interactive media on mesmerizing LED panels to create unforgettable nights of show-stopping entertainment.
THE PARTY DOESN’T STOP Carnival’s legendary deck parties keep the party going with highenergy dancing and theme nights like the 80s Rock and Glow Party where you can break out your Day-Glo and headbands to dance the night away. There’s also Serenity nights where the adults-only retreat is transformed into a chic, South Beach-inspired dance club with spectacular lighting and special effects and a crowd-pleasing mix of music spun by Carnival’s professional DJs. Live music is a Carnival staple, so whether you prefer a string trio in the atrium, live music in Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse, a sing-along in Piano Bar 88, dancing with a Latin band in the Havana Bar or the ever-popular Rock Band with different theme nights from classic rock and roll to today’s most popular hits, you’re covered.
BROADWAY BEATS follows a band of entertainers as they immerse themselves in the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods that come to life with hyper-realistic LED screens of signature NYC elements: the towering skyline, subway cars, bold street art and more. The show playfully mixes city rhythms and electronic dance music and takes an imaginative, exhilarating trip through the city with brand new interpretations of some of Broadway’s greatest hits. ROCK REVOLUTION was inspired by this year’s 50th anniversary of the most famous festival in rock history: Woodstock. The show reimagines the iconic music and fashion of 1969. With a modern kaleidoscope of dance, concert technology, high-tech scenery and props and a live band performing recognizable tunes from bands like the Beatles, the Doors and the Fifth Dimension, Rock Revolution re-creates the psychedelic 1960s with a modern twist.
These shows complement two audience favorites that debuted on Carnival Horizon in 2018: SOULBOUND is a fun, high-energy show that offers a gothic-inspired journey through New Orleans with stops at recognizable Crescent City landmarks like an apothecary shop and cemetery highlighted by levitating chairs and other spookily stunning illusions. As spirits are playfully captured and brought back to life through dazzling special effects, cast members belt out R&B favorites like “Soul Man” and “Born Under a Bad Sign.” Billed as a “breathtaking performance beyond your wildest dreams,” CELESTIAL STRINGS merges the beauty of classical music with modern pop beats. It takes place in an enchanted garden that seamlessly transforms from season to season, stimulating the senses with unbelievable visual imagery, 3D cast interactions and elaborate sets that bring the garden to life. Celestial Strings is truly a multi-sensory symphony for the soul. Top: Broadway Beats, a tribute to New York City’s dynamic streets. The mixedage music and movement curriculum features group singalongs, activities and musical instruments to keep kids engaged and energized while learning. Parents can choose from two classes: a 30-minute drop-off for kids ages 2 to 5; and a 30- to 45-minute family class for kids 6 and older. Both are led by Carnival’s expert youth staff. “We are so excited to bring Zumbini to our ships and to give families and their children this unique experience,” says Nelson.

It’s the perfect multigenerational family excursion: Grandparents, parents, teens and little ones each doing their own thing on their own and coming back to share good times together. It’s the kind of experience families can get when they book outings with Carnival Adventures, the carefully crafted assortment of excursions offered through Carnival Cruise Line. Multigenerational tours are a focus of the program. But there’s a Carnival Adventures excursion for you no matter your cruise style — for everyone from thrill-seekers to cultural explorers, couples to extended families. These one-of-a-kind excursions, available only through Carnival Adventures, are led by trusted local providers and are frequently reviewed by the expert adventurers known as Team Orange. “We help our guests experience the ultimate visit by giving them choices in excursions that are appealing to them,” says Erika Tache, senior director, product development, for the program. “Our adventures can cover all different levels of activity ranging from adventure to pure relaxation and everything in between. We also offer small-group VIP tours. We have plenty of options for our multigenerational tours, with different things to do suitable for different age groups all while being on the same excursion. If you are looking to give back to the community, we offer community-based tours where you have the chance to visit local schools or orphanages and make a difference to the places you visit.”
How Carnival Adventures Makes It Easy Here’s what you won’t experience with Carnival Adventures, says Tache: No stress: “We will help our guests avoid the unnecessary headaches of trying to navigate a port on their own, and instead guests spend every moment possible absorbing everything that made the destination so appealing in the first place.” You’re met on board by your guides, rather than having to wait outside in the sun. No worries: “We guarantee a timely return to the ship, so guests don’t spend the time looking at their watch, but rather enjoying exciting excursions.” No missing out: “All excursions are thoroughly researched by Team Orange, who find the best local operators to show you around like an old friend visiting.” Team Orange Is On It They’re the most experienced, knowledgeable team around, constantly fine-tuning selections to make sure everything is up to exacting standards — especially yours. The team is first off the ship and last back on board at every port, to make sure you’re having the time of your life. Have questions about your excursion? Want some expert help choosing your next one? See Team Orange at the Carnival Adventures desk on board.
With so many families cruising, multigenerational excursions are an important focus, says Tache. “We really want to make sure everyone can keep together and that there’s something for everyone.”
BOOK IT Carnival Adventures excursions can be booked online, on board at the Carnival Adventures Desk or through Carnival’s free HUB app. Before you set foot on the ship or even begin packing, you can have all your excursions reserved and will find your tickets waiting for you in your stateroom upon boarding. Now — let the adventures begin! Look for Team Orange to help you choose your next adventure. CARNIVAL PANORAMA 69

But any stroll within one of Mexico’s most popular resort towns should begin along the Malecón, the pedestrian, statue-studded boardwalk featuring The Friendship Fountain by California artist James Bottoms and the Roman-like Los Arcos Amphitheater.
Puerto Vallarta boasts one of the four best beaches in the world, accessible only by boat, and Carnival Adventures will take you there on the All Inclusive Las Caletas Beach Hideaway. All ages can have a blast swimming, snorkeling and sunning at this secluded spot, which also offers cooking classes and mezcal tasting. Bonus for younger visitors: Kids’ Adventure Park and Teen Adventure Cove.
A short walk from the square, the Plaza de Armas leads visitors to the cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and its distinguishing crowned clock tower. A few blocks away, the “Gringo Gulch” neighborhood still attracts American expatriates who enjoy living in an exotic destination with all the comforts of home.

ON THE HORIZON
WHAT’S NEXT? A preview of Mardi Gras, launching in August 2020. Ready to Mardi Gras? That’s Carnival’s next ship, where vacation will be redefined from the moment you step aboard. Debuting in 2020, this awe-inspiring ship is already making waves. It pays homage to the first Carnival ship, 1972’s TSS Mardi Gras, which changed the cruise industry then, just as the new vessel will change it again. From the first roller coaster at sea and more than 180 suites across 11 levels — not to mention being the first North American cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas — this ship will take the legacy of its predecessor to new heights. Here’s a peek:

BACK TO THE FUTURE OF CRUISING The new Mardi Gras is the culmination of everything Carnival Cruise Line has brought to sea since first changing the industry almost a half-century ago. In 1972, Ted Arison founded Carnival on the idea that everyone, not just the rich, deserved a fun seagoing vacation. He wanted beautiful ports of call, delicious food and unique entertainment to be within reach. Arison purchased RMS Empress of Canada and converted it to TSS Mardi Gras, which set Carnival’s reputation as the “Fun Ships” from the very first voyage. In the years since, Carnival has pioneered such innovations as the first water slide at sea and built the industry’s first megaship, Carnival Destiny. It’s become the No. 1 family cruise operator while remaining popular among all generations and types of cruisers. Carnival is looking even farther into the future as it approaches its 50th anniversary in 2022, with plans under way for a second ship in the new Excel class. With every new Carnival ship has come ever-more-amazing innovations and experiences. Yet each one is simply a fulfillment of Ted Arison’s dream of bringing the fun of cruising to everyone. It’s a legacy he would be proud to claim.

INTRODUCING SIX DISTINCT ZONES Explore the ship’s six distinct onboard zones that feature a new way to experience dining, entertainment and more. Grand Central: The reimagined atrium is the first thing you see on board. It features expansive floorto-ceiling windows that overlook the ocean. French Quarter: Inspired by the culture and vibe of New Orleans, home to bars and dining options that are a nod to the city itself. Summer Landing: Just chill! Yes, that’s exactly what you do in this zone. Here’s where you’ll find the pool, whirlpools and Carnival’s ever-popular Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse.
La Piazza: Flavor is what stands out here and it starts with pizza served 24 hours a day. La dolce vita isn’t far away in this blissful atmosphere with roaming musicians, reminiscent of a romantic Italian street scene. Lido: Tons of casual dining spots, poolside movies, bars and lounge chairs make up the Lido that Carnival cruisers know and love. The Ultimate Playground: Introducing BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea. Race along an 800-foot-long track at speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour! Alongside BOLT is Carnival’s biggest-ever WaterWorks aqua park, with three — yes, three! — super slides and an expanded SportSquare to fulfill your athletic needs.
TAKE A BITE Three’s definitely a charm when it comes to dining on this ship, which will star a trio of culinary favorites: Emeril Lagasse, creating New Orleans-inspired cuisine at his first restaurant at sea, Emeril’s Bistro 1396; Guy Fieri, cooking up smoked-on-board brisket and other BBQ faves along with craft beers brewed right on board, for Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse; and Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal, serving scrumptious takes on poultry at his Big Chicken restaurant. Mardi Gras will offer a full menu of other dining choices, from casual snacks to sit-down experiences.
