14 tablespoons butter, cubed 1 cup Turbinado Sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 teaspoon kosher salt 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 350°F/175°C. In a medium saucepan on medium heat combine the butter and sugar, stirring constantly. Once butter is melted, cook for one more minute and remove it immediately from the heat. After the mixture is cooled, whisk for one minute. Stir in the vanilla, salt, and flour.
Press the dough into an ungreased cookie sheet, spreading it all the way to the edges. Bake for about 25 minutes, rotating the pan every five minutes until the brittle is firm in the center. Once the brittle has cooled, break into pieces. Adapted from Cookies and Cups.
