Adriana Makras and Joseph Anthony met at an Australia Day party at Bar Pacino. “We bonded while trying to get our friends to talk after their first date. Joseph proposed on a trip to Japan with friends. He had planned to propose at a flower festival near Mount Fuji, however he couldn’t wait that long (after leaving the ring in a sushi restaurant) so he proposed at the top of the Bamboo Forest in Kyoto.”

“Our wedding theme was romantic, architectural, moody and fun. There were so many highlights. I wish we could relive them all again! Finally getting to walk down the aisle after having to postpone our wedding so many times, our first steps as husband and wife in church (called the ‘Dance of Isiah’) and entering our reception to see all our family and friends in one room ready to celebrate our marriage.”

“Our advice to other couples planning their wedding is don’t stress! I was lucky enough to have my mum and Joseph’s help with the planning and organising of all the vendors. This made the process a lot smoother. Unfortunately, we can’t control what gets thrown at us with restrictions and lockdowns so it’s always good to have a back up date booked with all your suppliers. Also, just enjoy the process and take it all in when the day comes. We haven’t been on our honeymoon yet but plan to head to North Queensland for the New Year.”
