Laura Pembroke and Jarrett Brugman met through mutual friends. They were married at Howard Smith Wharves overlooking the Brisbane River, with the backdrop of the Story Bridge and a glistening city skyline. “The day shone bright with a brilliant blue, sunny Autumn sky, made more beautiful by the gorgeous white and blush florals adorning the space. Petals were strewn down the aisle and fluttered in the soft afternoon breeze – it was like a floral wonderland!”

The wedding theme was minimalist, modern and romantic. Laura and Jarrett decided not to have a bridal party. Laura’s sister Stephanie, her cousin Sophie and her future sister-inlaw Julia supported her in the pre-wedding preparations. They all wore white as a nod to the bride. The couple asked their niece, Grace, to present the rings. “Grace did a fabulous job, looked gorgeous, and felt very much involved in the day.” Laura and Jarrett wrote their own vows and wanted to keep things simple to reflect their approach to life. “It was all about declaring our love in front of our family and friends.”

“Our Celebrant held a ceremony rehearsal with us to ensure everything went smoothly on the day. We also received beautiful printed cards of our personal vows which we will always cherish. The ceremony was absolutely the highlight of our day.”
