Madison Selwood and Matthew Button met while working together at a local coffee shop. Madison shared the proposal: “Mum suggested going out for dinner in the city. When we arrived I was surprised to see Matthew. He had come home a week early from Defence training and had booked a room at the Stamford Plaza Hotel. When I walked into the room, I saw a rose petal pathway leading to a book written by Matthew where he had written our love story. He then popped the big question.”

“We wanted to go with an intimate, outdoor wedding with our closest friends and family. Matthew’s parent’s church leader of North Brisbane Salvos helped bless us through the wedding ceremony, creating a loving and calm environment. Having his grandfather there was a huge highlight for Matthew as well as seeing me walk down the aisle. We were so blessed to have our closest friends and family able to attend during Covid and we received so many lovely messages afterwards, saying it was the best wedding ever! We felt very relaxed, loved and happy on our special day. Oh! and another highlight was when the photographer was chased by a bull for the money-maker shot. We spent our honeymoon at Airlie Beach.”
