o educate the students about election, particularly the first time voters, Ms. KC Montoya, Election Assistant II of Commission on Elections (COMELECImus City, discussed the importance of voting and emphasize the role of voters in changing the future of this country.

“Ang pagboto ay isang konseptwal na pundasyon sa istraktura ng ating demokrasya at ang proseso o sistema ng eleksyon sa ating bansa para sa mga magrerepresinta sa mga taong-bayan ay nagpapatunay na tayo’y miyembro ng isang panlipunang sibil,” Ms. Montoya imparted. In cooperation through voting, this has more value than the reforms made by those people with authorities and in democratic perspective, this is better to implement because the choice of public is to elect leaders in leading the country.

“Mga miyembro ng estado ang pumipili sa mga taong nangangasiwa sa ating gobyerno. Kaya kung matalino ang mga mamamayan sa paggamit ng kanilang karapatang bumoto, mas nadadala natin ang bayan sa tamang direksyon tungo sa magandang knabukasan at pag-unlad,” she added. Mr. Cedric Joces Yoro, Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Teacher also explained the concept of voting based on experts and theories. “Ayon sa Theory of Social Contract ni Jean Jacques Rousseau, ang pagboto ay nagpatupad ng konsepto na ang gobyerno ay nabuo

sa pamamagitan ng pagkakasunduan ng mga tao at ang kay John Locke naman, na isang eksperto, bumoboto ang tao upang magkaroon ng isang gobyerno na may pahintulot mismo ang mga taong-bayan,” Mr. Yoro asserted. Ms. Montoya emphasizes that the votes of the public is the key for the future of the Philippines to be a progressive nation, and through their voting rights, the development of this country is in the hands of elected officials. “Ang ating ideolohya, pangarap sa bayan, ninanais para sa pamilya, at

pagunlad ng sarili ay nakasalalay sa ating pagiging matalinong botante,” Ms. Montoya continued. Mr. Yoro exclaimed that the votes of society will change the governing system in the present. “Nais kong sabihin sa inyo mga mahal kong Benedictinians na maging mapanuri, makielam, magsaliksik ng tama, kilatisin ang mga kandidato, maging kritikal, at pagiging matalinong mamamayan ay nakabubuo ng isang maayos at maunlad na lipunan.” he concluded.

SINAG 2018 focuses in performing cultural dances

T

o concentrate on generating culture through performing arts, the SINAG 2018 plans to conduct a Cultural Show to formally launch the said organization as a cultural dance troupe.

“We are going to focus on propagating Filipino culture through performing arts. On either November or December, we will be conducting a Cultural Show to formally launch SINAG as a cultural dance troupe,” Kim Joshua Daño, SINAG club adviser, said in a statement. To recall last May, Benedictine Institute of Learning finished 2nd Runner Up in HATAWatawat dance competition during the Wagayway Festival despite the lack of preparation. “I think it’s a perfect start for SINAG to really engage into arts and culture,” the club adviser stated. Furthermore, the competition boosted the start of this school year’s

SINAG as 35 members consisting mostly of new senior high school students. Moreover, the dance club became essential to the growth of its members in personality and show their love and support to the beauty of our country’s culture. “I think this is a way of expressing myself, the things I can’t express in words coming out through my talents. Most especially, SINAG is not just for showcasing the talents of the students but to inspire others and motivate them that we all have our hidden talents and it is time to give them a freedom to express themselves,” Alexis Leonidas, club president asserted. Leonidas stressed joining the club

helps inspire others and help make a difference. “Just dream more, learn more, do more, and become more,” Leonidas added. SINAG is the key to unlock the potential in students waiting to be unleash, a perfect club to showcase talents and a family of nurturing adviser and multi-talented people, Supreme Student Government (SSG) President and SINAG member said. Princess Joy Barcinas, SSG President, said in a statement that SINAG grew into a family as they become more attached to one another. By: Judina Hilario

SSG builds special... The established committees are namely: Special Projects, Student Welfare, Clubs and Extracurricular, and Environmental Consciousness assigned with one student as the head for each said group. Mr. Cedric Yoro, SSG adviser and BIL Senior High School (SHS) teacher, asserted that they have come up with this idea after the school organizations’ continuous struggle to maintain a controlled program. “We tried our best na kapag may meeting ang bawat organizations, maging kasama dito ang SSG, kaso naging problema ang manpower,” he said. Mr. Yoro also mentioned that he studied the Department of Education (DepEd) Orders in the midst of creating an organizational chart after SHS faculty member and former BIL school paper adviser Mr. Paolo Aure suggested the idea to him. “Sa paggawa ko nito, pinagbatayan ko ang DepEd Orders regarding student governments, at pina-aprubahan ito sa SSG President, kay Ma’am Cielo at kay Ma’am Gina,” Yoro added. Princess Joy Barcinas, SSG President, reassured that this will help in giving the full attention of a group to specific issues that have to be addressed. “Nagkaroon ng iba’t-ibang committee para mapalakas ang puwersa ng SSG at mas mabigyan

Moreover, she cited that the organization’s outputs became more successful since the formation of the committees. “Bukod sa pagpapagaan nila sa mga trabaho naming SSG officers, mas naging maayos at maganda na rin yung events tulad nung Teachers’ Day dahil sa efforts nung mga committees,” Barcinas explained. Mr. Yoro also stated there are still a lot of rules yet to be settled, like limiting the amount of volunteers down to the students who are not part of busy organizations. “May mga sumasali kasi na alam kong hindi matututukan ang pagiging parte ng SSG committee kung meron pang ibang inaasikaso, saka based on my experience, ginagawang secondary lang ang SSG,” he pointed out. Furthermore, Mr. Yoro vowed to tighten the guidelines and policies for the students who will be interested in joining the newly created committees next school year. “Nasa stage pa rin tayo na dahil bagong-bago pa lang, kailangan magexperiment, so magkakaroon pa rin talaga ng failures and shortcomings, at may makikita pang mga problemang pwede ma-improve next year,” he concluded. he comeback implemented Research Elective in Junior High School (JHS) will prepare the students of Benedictine Institute of Learning (BIL) for their Senior High School (SHS) and College lives which is abundant in foundation in making research and thesis defense.

SCHOOL

According to Mrs. Gina Pira, SHS Department Head and Academic Coordinator, the Research Elective was not intentionally removed in JHS in the past two years and there’s a condition that was made that this will be putted under Science subject therefore it will not be under the English anymore, but the plan did not succeed. “We just don’t know what happened, kasi di siya natuloy and then nakita namin yung naging

difficulties ng mga students like in SHS kasi halos kada semester ay meron silang thesis writing and kung walang Research sa JHS, wala silang foundation sa SHS and College, so we opted na elective English na ulit siya,” she asserted. The impact of this Research subject enables students to have foundations in thesis and research writing in SHS and College and it’s not required and not prohibited by

the school but it’s for the students to prepare them for future. “Based on my observations, maganda ang impact niya dahil nagkakaroon ng foundation ang mga students para sa SHS and college life nila at wala naman akong nakikitang negative feedbacks dahil for sure malaki ang naitutulong nito sa futureng mga students ng BIL,” Mrs. Pira conluded. According to Mr. Joel Mañozo, one of Benedictine’s computer teachers and I.T. specialists, the reason for the partnership is that the school worked with the team to help develop the new Benedictine portal. He asserted details about the new portal, saying that aside from the usual contents like news and announcements from the school, it also contains a detailed student profile containing not only their grades, but also their raw scores, attendance, medical information from

the clinic, accounting information such as tuition fees, and more. Besides, this portal can also be accessible by the parents in order to monitor their child’s performances inside the classroom. Mr. Mañozo stated that the new portal is said to be launched around this December because there are some things need to be fixed in the portal to be more functional in its operations. enedictinians tighten their belts to cope with steep prices of goods and services as the Philippine inflation rate rocketed to 6.7% last September 2018.

A lot of components drive inflation rate, but more components are affected by it such as sellers in variety stores and markets, businessmen, farmers, the less privileged Filipinos, and of course, students and teachers from Benedictine Institute of Learning. Aside from being the highest inflation rate in 9 years, it was also the 9th consecutive monthly inflation rate increase from January 2018. Despite these alarming facts, government officials seem to shrug it off their shoulders --in a recent interview, Department of Budget and Management Secretary Ben Diokno said that the inflation is a “mere hiccup.” Based on a survey conducted by Ora Et Labora among Junior and Senior High School students, 92.6% suffer from sky high prices caused by the said inflation rate. Majority have answered that they are affected mostly by the escalating prices of food. In fact, since August, a cup of rice in the High School canteen, which was ₱10, now reached ₱12. In addition,

transportation issues are also faced by Benedictinians as the minimum jeep fare for students increased from ₱7 to ₱8. Moreover, the inflation rate also took a toll on the pockets of students due to rise of charges in school supplies and school service, both of which are vital in the everyday lives of Benedictinians. Influencing factors that may cause the said inflation include the supply and demand, price of raw materials, high costs of production, rising world oil prices, and the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law. In the plight Filipinos are in, countless pockets are damaged – commodities and services surged as fast as the inflation rate, and students reiterate this dilemma because they are greatly affected. As the inflation rate continue to damage the national economy and hurt the finances of citizens, government actions are missing, that is why Benedictinians must curb to fight the inflation by buying smartly, limiting spending spree, and being thrifty.

hat’s a better way to celebrate Teacher’s Day? Last October 4, teachers of Benedictine Institute of Learning celebrated Teacher’s Day lead by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) with the students from different year levels. It was a fun filled day with lots of activities and performances from different talented students, and games wherein teachers are mainly the players. Teachers are—and always will be—indispensable figures in our life. Students can all come to that conclusion. Teacher’s day is that time of the year where we pay tribute to persons in that profession. But as students, how can we show our gratitude towards our beloved teachers? Education is one of the most important foundations in our society and teachers are a huge part of that foundation. But for the most part, they are often underpaid, underappreciated, and underresourced. They are faced with a lot of responsibilities having less in return for their hard work. Salary increase is not even part of the negotiation within the government. Teacher’s salaries still lag behind their occupation, and they are required to return to school for

unending extracurricular activities. Even in their time off, they spend their long hours trying to finish their work.

Teacher’s salaries still lag behind their occupation, and they are required to return to school for unending extracurricular activities.

Teachers also deal with everything involving their students—from bathroom disasters, diseases, and even the personal problems of the students. Their

profession can lead to another. They are instant nurse, communicators, leaders, accountants, mentors. Name it; teachers have the power to do it. Teachers are professionals and they do a job that is in our best interest. Just like any other profession, there are good and bad teachers, but the vast majority of them are good, because it takes a special kind of person to be a teacher. It takes a lot of patience and understanding. Thank a teacher, not just during this special day. Teacher’s day should not be different with any other days where we appreciate and value what our teacher’s have done for us. Truthfully, teachers play a great and important role in our lives. Without them, how could we manage to have learning and understanding?

Parents and students were disappointed by the snail-like actions of local officials. Remulla was in hot seat in social media last July for suspending classes not ahead of time, causing students to go through much more inconvenience. Aside from wasting time, money and effort to attend classes and eventually go back home due to delayed cancellation, students can also acquire sicknesses when exposed or showered in the heavy rain. According to government officials, they rely on Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), but the weather bureau issues bulletins only at a specific time in a day. Therefore, the idle officials’ actions heavily affect not just the academics of the students, but also their health and safety, contrary to the purpose of suspending classes which is to safeguard the pupils from heavy rain and bad weather. Local officials like mayors and governors must be wide awake, and since we live in a technological era, they can rely on social media to easily disseminate news. As a servant of the municipality they authorize, they must be aware of the weather conditions so they can adjust their decisions, or else they will wake up with flood rising, not outside, but on their phones and social media accounts.

or the school year 2018-2019, Benedictine Institute of Learning has implemented research elective subjects for Grades 10, 11 and 12 students, which aims to show them how to properly do a thesis and help them with applied statistics. The said subjects, which are now called Practical Research 1 and Practical Research 2 in the Senior High School Department, was last implemented in the Junior High School Department during the 20142015 School Year. Research Elective comes back as the Benedictine Institute of Learning adapts to the Republic Act No. 10533 or the Act Enhancing the Philippine Basic Education System whose purpose is to “broaden the goals of high school education for

college preparation…” Also, the academic institution’s motto is “a commitment to educational excellence and professionalism.” In line with this, the administration and the Junior and Senior High School Department Heads, Mr. Aldren Santos and Ma’am Gina T. Pira, teamed-up to guide and prepare students, and to promote quality education. For Elective English, the students are shown the steps of how to do proper research and collect data

for a perfect dissertation and thesis, while Elective Math teaches applied statistics to help them with the interpretation and analysis of their data. Both of these electives go hand in hand, and it will be very helpful for the students to learn all of these early on, so that when they take that step towards senior high school or college, they will have the advantage and necessary knowledge to make things easier for them. Depression has no face by: Janna Mikaela B. Biazon

epression is quite the most challenging case that Mrs. Mary Joy Teruel, Guidance Counselor in Benedictine Institute of Learning (BIL), has handled. This year, there are three students who are reportedly suffering from depression. She told during an interview that these students usually have mental breakdowns in between classes.

According to her, depression does not mean being sad. Depression involves a lot of other things. These statements are true. Its scope is wide and involves chemicals or medications in treating this. Aside from medications, there are other things that could help in preventing depression. Assessing these students is right for the treatment of their health. There are several ways in assessing the students: counseling, observation, and conference with the parents. Using these different ways, the teachers and the parents can determine what could be going on with the child. Lifestyle has an essential part of depression treatment. Some of the lifestyle changes to treat depression are having a regular exercise, social support, nutrition, enough sleep and stress reduction. We should always have a positive outlook in life. Neglect the negative things or reactions made by other people

“No man is an island”; a person suffering from depression should rely on his friends and plunge himself to the things he loves. suffering from depression should rely on his friends and plunge himself to the things he loves. We could learn from every person that we encounter every day, and in this way, we share our emotions with them. If you’re feeling stuck, don’t hesitate to talk to trusted family

members or friends, or seek out new connections from support group, for example. Having a journal can help in letting out our emotions and prevents ourselves in hiding all our sentiments. But most importantly, knowing God and talking to Him is a huge relief because He knows everything. Still, it takes time and commitment to find the right treatment. Sometimes, it might feel overwhelming or frustratingly slow but that is normal. It might take some trial and error to find the treatment and support that best works for a person suffering with depression. We won’t recognize a person with depression easily. omplaints from the Grade 11 and 12 students are rising on social media regarding their disapproval on the K-12 system. This should not be neglected by the Department of Education (DepEd), considering that their “experiments” themselves are the ones who are complaining. K-12 Program was launched 3 years ago to create globallycompetitive students and for them to work-efficient after graduating from High School. 3 years later and now releasing the first batch of graduates, they are not proving enough that they are living off the standards set by DepEd. Their main goal in implementing K-12 is to produce globallycompetitive students yet these students are the ones who are claiming that they are turning into robots. For instance, the Grade 10 students here in Benedictine are being bombarded on school projects and performance tasks on their Quarterly Examination Week. They are forced to finish and handle those instead of studying for their exams. Also, it has been a routine by some teachers to assign heavy school workloads and putting the deadline the day after.

The K-12 Program is offering the senior High School (SHS) various strands that will lessen the burden of lessons in college such as the

that are under that strand even if they will not use it in the future. The burden that is lessen on college is nothing because that burden is added on SHS to the point that it is unhealthy for students. On the other hand, the thought by the DepEd to initiate the program is great, thinking that we are being left behind on the standards of education set by the top countries who offers quality education such as Switzerland but it seems like that the K-12 program was hurriedly implemented. The students should not be bombarded by the plenty of school works, projects, and performance tasks, thinking that their health is now compromised. The only solution is for the deparment to reform the K-12 and prioritize the health of the students.

enedictinians are frequently faced with the confusion regarding academic and extracurricular activities. Often, they are grade conscious due to external pressures; from parents, relatives, or friends. Doubt and uncertainty are drawn from their willingness to focus more on their academic grades. Students would always come up with the conclusion that in achieving honors, grades are far more important.

Majority of teachers beg to disagree. Both are important to get our way to the top. It’s a matter of balance between these factors to achieve the grade that we desire. According to Sir Aldren Santos, Junior High School Department Head, co-curricular activities are those that are related to academic learning while extracurricular

activities are not related to a particular subject but are required either by Department of Education or the institution. It is written in the Student’s Handbook, Section 12 “Criteria in Determining the Achievement Award” that in order to determine the outstanding learner, 7-3 point scheme is used. 7 points for

Academic Excellence and 3 points for Co-curricular Activities. The 7-3 point scheme is the basis for the 75 percent academic average for Benedictine Highest Award and the other 25 percent is taken from extracurricular activities. When a certain extracurricular activity is tedious and would eat up some of the student’s time away

from his or her class, the student would be considered ‘excused’ on that particular day. But the student still need to comply from all the activities that the student missed during that day. Even if a student have a high academic award, there’s still a huge percentage of extracurricular activity that will most likely

have an effect on the final grade. Yes, students should focus on academics, but we shouldn’t neglect what extracurricular activities contribute to our grades. The importance of academics and extracurricular activities should always be balanced.

BenedicTHING: Things that only Bene has! T

he best of the best, it rises higher than the rest. This is a school like no other.

Every school has its unique features, things that can only be found and experienced in a particular one. In Benedictine, you can expect not one, not two, and certainly not three, but a lot of exceptional activities and things that define this school and also its students. Top-of-the-line teaching is guaranteed here in Benedictine Institute of Learning. Not only are the teachers’ smart and patient, but also licensed and educated. Their teaching is done best with modern and complete facilities provided by the school. In Benedictine, students learn a lot easily because of the combined effective teaching methods and outstanding Dubbed as “the home of academic and sports champions”, Benedictine surely lives up to that part. The intramurals here is something that you would never ever experience in any school. Besides the fact that it is celebrated a week long, this is the time of year that the Benedictinians show

eing able to attend schooling in the prestigious University of the Philippines is a privilege that every student desire, as a matter of fact Benedictinians are only the few that aspires to have scholarship grant in this university. The University of the Philippines will conduct an entrance examination commonly known as UPCAT at the 27th to 28th of October 2018. In lieu with this the Benedictinians who are going to take the exam are already preparing. Here are some tips on how to nail the test:

Undergo reviews. If you can’t afford to enroll at training centers, you can buy books that will help you to learn the knowledge that you need to pass the examination.

Practice self-discipline. Of course you cannot neglect your school works and just focus on the review. You have to learn to manage your time. Avoid any distractions and activities irrelevant to your study. Create fun ways in learning. Be creative on how to make your review as light as possible and at the same time will help you to enhance and sharpen your memory, like applying melodies on the lessons.

Acquire enough sleep. Get yourself an 8-hour sleep, you deserve it! Your review may be your life but resting if needed is lifer. Studying with an exhausted brain is like sweeping the floor with the fans at number three. Always keep in mind that health is wealth, and ask yourself what is use of passing the test but you will not be able to savor the privilege because you’re being conducted a lot of tests and you’re lying on a hospital bed. Take time to relax. Don’t put so much pressure on your shoulders. Being pressured will make you lose your focus from time to time.

As a Benedictinian it is a pride to carry the name of your school, if you follow these five simple instructions and put an extra effort, you will have a great chance of seeing your name in the list of the UPCAT “survivors”. Make the cut in UPCAT. Go up in UPCAT! By: Jann Miguel Biazon

their very competitive self, in sports and academics alike. In a Benedictinestyled Intramurals, everybody gets to participate and do a certain part in your team. Everyone is included and should at least join one contest. And also, everyone can join the sports games, not only the varsity students of the school. This is also a chance to meet new people and gather new friends, because this is also a very social event where you really would interact with your fellow Benedictinians and have a lot of fun with them. Those people you only pass through in the hallways could be your next instant friend. In Benedictine, every intramurals is a very unforgettable experience, with a lot of memories to treasure and cherish. The school like no other is also a second home to a lot of students. And with a best school, comes best children, with best intentions and best behaviors. By: Ana Althea Virata

SK Federation President Joshua Guinto: Paving the Path with Passion and Progress Ana Althea Virata

The path he took is not an easy one. Going uphill and downhill, it was not an easy road to paint with his ambitions and success. Trying to uphold the title he carries, he makes his way, slowly and carefully, into the path he decides to take. As the SK Chairman and SK Federation President, Joshua Guinto faced struggles before he earned those titles. Running for both chairman and federation president seems such an exhausting thing to do, but he strives and does his best in every way he possibly can. He had little problem with being the SK Chairman, since there were only said to be 80 registered voters. But being the SK Federation President, it was kind of a chaotic challenge. It was different from regular elections, and the turn over was really a messy one. Also, with the belief of President Rodrigo Duterte that barangays are the breeding grounds for corruption, the congress is still reforming the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015. According to the rules, SK also cannot give programs, but they are the ones who implement the Task Force on Youth Development programs. But setting that aside, the SK cannot also do a lot of programs because of some unclear instructions. With that in his hands, Joshua

Guinto wants to find a way on how could he be able to do something good in his time as an SK Chairman and Federation President. He has not yet achieved anything, but is readily planning to do something remarkable. Handling 97 barangays as the SK Federation President is a great deal of work for Joshua Guinto, even though he is very accustomed to it. During his elementary and high school days, he was always a class officer, which makes him already a role model in his early years of being a leader, and people view him as a responsible person. Handling 97 barangays is no joke, and he has a way of unwinding and relaxing for a bit. In a week, there is a day that he “shuts off” and does not do any work. Choosing a path that leads to the desired outcome, even if it is a rickety and challenging one to take, the one with a lot of obstacles, is the one that Joshua Guinto decided to trek and pursue.

Kuya Oui: Visual Art as an Instrument

Jose Miguel Octavo

Art. An imaginary place where you can express anything you want in any way. Art is a favourite place of many people, people known as artists who reside and want to stay in this place where they belong, sculptures, drawing, photography, and the like. But one person who interests in painting and uses it to convey deep messages to the viewers’ eye has sparked attention and gained different awards for his meaningful pieces. Louis Espinosa, otherwise known as Kuya Oui, is an alumni from Benedictine Institute of Learning and now three years into studying Fine Arts in college. Just like any other kid, he was introduced with a piece of paper and pen, while some of us can only draw stick men, Kuya Oui continued learning and decided it was his passion to draw. From tuning into “Pokemon” and reading “Mars Ravelo” comics to drawing his favourite anime characters and now using his fine hand techniques and accurate detailing, he surely has improved a lot. He describes his style as “more on realism and an offspring of inspiration from other artists.”, though he has his own style, Kuya Oui still spends hours in researching for new styles and techniques on how to improve his skills. Espinosa’s signature style now has art enthusiasts crazy for its uniqueness and creativity. Taking home numerous awards, Louis Espinosa recently took home the People’s Choice Award in the 32nd Pinoy Pride Visual Arts Competition for his piece called “Kulturang Dalisay” last March. Now, his piece called

“Tanggap ka namin, Anak” is a contender for the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence which centers in the acceptance of parents to LGBTQIA children. But, this is just the start of Espinosa’s career, so we should expect more that he can nag more prestigious awards. Just like any other artist, Espinosa’s personal goal is to have a personal exhibit and to have his captivating pieces hung up in the famous Louvre Museum. Another dream, Kuya Oui is trying to reach is to start an art school for aspiring artists who doesn’t have enough money to go to one as Fine Art schools can be pricy. Kuya Oui is such a great role model for every Benedictinians with a dream in arts. He is a role model that with determination, success will be around the corner. Louis Espinosa would always be the instrument to paint up every aspiring artist’s life.

Nathan’s Corner: Falling Down and Getting Back Up Ana Althea Virata

As fast as the vehicle sped up was his life flashing before his eyes. Falling as if in slow motion, as he hit the pavement and everything in his world went pitch black. An unexpected thing occurred in the life of Sir Nathan Lazaro. Never did he anticipate something like this to happen to him. His pleasant journey on his way home was paved with his own blood as he stepped down the tricycle. Little did he know that as he was stepping down the vehicle, it moved very fast. He lost balance, and hit his head hard on the side of the road. He said that this was the biggest challenge he ever faced. “Aside from fighting for my life, I am fighting to be healthy,” Sir Nathan said Sir Nathan is now fighting to be healthy. He is not able to play his sport, or go to far places, or do whatever he wants to do, which kind of lets him down but still he chooses to fight and look on the positive

side of things. What motivates him to keep moving forward is his dream to be a statistician and a professor, and also his family and loved ones. “Sila nga ‘di nila ako sinukuan so ‘di rin dapat ako sumuko.” Sir Nathan told us. To all the people out there who are undergoing the same ordeal as Sir Nathan does, he tells us not to give up. He is also reminding us that the pain we feel in our lives is a reminder that we are still alive, and what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. “So if you are alive, be thankful. Kasi you are still capable of improving your life. Ganoon naman eh, habang may buhay, may pag-asa.” Sir Nathan added. As fast as he fell was also how fast he got up. In time lapse, he got up, moved forward, and started anew. The pitch black world started to have color again, piece by piece.

Ethan Jaro: Youtu-mator Jose Miguel Octavo

Lights, Camera, Action! Creating a video is one way of expressing someone’s hobby and feelings. But this Benedictinian showcased that even if he is still a student, he can rock Youtube and animation. Naethaniel Jaro or Ethan, a grade eight student from Benedictine Institute of Learning, otherwise known as “Baglets” in his Youtube account has amazed viewers and audience with this smooth and funky animations. Ethan also does livestreams that show him animating for hours and hours with his viewers, it shows how hard it takes to make a single animation. At first, Ethan was very anxious about starting his channel. “People are going to hate it” he thought, but with the help and support of his friends and family, he finally got the courage to start his channel. The beginning was rough, he barely had any subscribers and couldn’t sacrifice all his time for animations. But as time got by, he gradually got bigger, collaborating with other Youtubers, meeting new friends, and here he is now, Ethan Jaro, a proud student

of Benedictine and a proud animator. Ethan successfully launched his famous “Beans and Berb” animation series with his friends and classmates who play as the voice actors of the animations. He got and effective, whole support system that’s why he is always motivated to do what he likes. Ethan just reached 10,000 subscribers in Youtube. For him, reaching the 10,000 subscriber mark for his channel was his best achievement. Ethan is one of the students who continue to inspire fellow students to pursue their passion passion, that they should never be afraid or shy to share their talents for it is a gift from above. As and aspiring Youtuber and animator at the same time, Ethan is the perfect representation of an aspiring artist who failed, stood up, and strived harder to reach every dreamer’s goal.

I have gone through a lot, finding help, but I feel hopeless, as if I am searching through a dark forest, not knowing what to find, not knowing where to go, and worse, not knowing if there’s a way out. The only thing that compensates me is the light that others provide in my long and seemingly endless search for the end of all my sufferings. A spectrum is what they call me, either beneficial or a nuisance, either the positivity or negativity of myself. I don’t want to hurt myself and make me suffer, but I can’t control it. Family history, genes, or past experiences trigger me, like I said I can’t control myself. It will be hard when I’m at my breaking point. I make myself feel hopeless and worthless. Mood swings often make me not want to socialize anymore. That’s why most days I make myself stay in a dark room, where I overthink about everything, every aspect of my life, and yet again, make me feel bad about myself. I can’t control it. They don’t need to exert an unwanted force to hurt me and instill fear within me because I know myself that I can be easily disciplined. I am old enough and I think that it’s kind of inappropriate if my parents would do that. I always follow what they say so they are not easily angered and short-tempered. They will be really angry if I have done something wrong that is too much for them. Of course, my parents believe that everything can be fixed if they are talked out.

The movie ‘Midnight Sun’ was released last March 2018 but I only got the chance to watch it last April this year. The protagonist in the movie, Katie Price, played by Bella Thorne, can be killed even by the slightest exposure to the sun. I got very excited about the flow of the story but the lessons it taught me opens up my mind about the reality of life. Embracing life wholeheartedly is a brilliant point of the movie. The science behind depression D

epression has a miserable array of misguided stigmas and criticism surrounding its diagnosis. Some believe depression is a prolonged bad mood or just someone’s negative outlook on life, but it’s so much more than that and science has proven it.

The Ancient Greeks believed depression was a result of fluid imbalances of blood, phlegm, yellow and black bile. Meanwhile, early Christianity just threw the blame of the devil for man’s suffering, which resulted from their internal battle to fight the temptations of sin. Finally, Renaissance rolled around and scholars, such as Robert Burton, began to recognize the depression as a disease, but since then, attitudes and misconceptions have changed throughout history until we reached modern times when we came to understand there’s something far more complicated than a simple chemical imbalance behind this darkening disorder. Scientists suspected low levels of serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for feelings of elation and happiness was the cause. When they fed depression patients drugs filled with serotonin, some of them started

feeling better, so they thought they had it all figured out, but then they took a closer look and realized there was something irregular about their hippocampus. This seahorse-shaped structure in the brain is responsible for memory and emotion, and those who were depressed tended to have smaller ones. Even worse, the longer they were depressed, the smaller the hippocampus shrunk in size, ultimately limiting its ability. By stimulating the growth of the hippocampus with new neurons, patients were happier and healthier. The complication goes on once you get into the genetics of depression, which makes it a heritable disease from either or both of your parents. The shorter your serotonin transmitter gene, the more likely you’ll become depressed, especially when life events place stress and anguish upon a person. Every year, five to eight percent

of the United States’ adult population is depressed, which accounts for approximately 25 million people and a total of 350 million worldwide; however, only a half of them actually get any treatment, according to the National Alliance on Mental Health. Without treatment, depression tightens its talons into the minds of millions and worsens symptoms, eventually leading to severe levels of depression that only worsen over time. However, in the Philippines, where mental health is rarely discussed, the figures of the said deaths accorded to this case are lower than the annual global-age standardized suicide rate of 11.4 per 100, 000 populations according to a special report of GMA. Moreover, Philippines has the lowest suicide rate among ASEANmember countries. By: Bojo G. Evangelista

Referring to its lots of advantages, library will always be occupied by the students who came early just to have a nice spot in a computer, and do their assignments and such tasks while they are waiting for their next class. Some of us are using our spare time to do rushed works, and instant researches. However, some of the students are just using the library as a place for them to hang out, chill, and log in to their favorite social media

accounts. Because of this, most students are now complaining regarding the insensitive people who are just staying in the library just to entertain themselves by using computers, disregarding others who are in need of a PC for their school works. Just like this, hindrances are also present. According to a grade 10 student, such users are way too abusive to the computers that is should be used for doing school works, not for browsing

the internet just to watch videos in Youtube. Some of them, also wasting their free time on scrolling their news feed, considering that the computers are only limited and such students are losing their time waiting, instead of them being able to do their assignments if only everyone are considerate enough to let the people who are in need on doing their school works by lending them the computers. Earthquake drill’s reality

F

rom the orientation session, to the actual happenings during the Earthquake Drill, the Benedictine Community, led by the Junior Medic Team of Senior High School STEM Students, faced the truth of conducting and organizing a drill that will give enough awareness and knowledge to everyone. With the help of City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, the Benedictine Institute of Learning held this year’s Earthquake Drill for the students to be completely ready and fully prepared when the expected calamity happen. During the First part of the drill, the ring of the school bell was not heard and was not noticed in time, mostly in the Senior High School Building. The expected organized evacuation was not properly executed since most of the students are intentionally ran, and did not take the drill seriously. Some of the students were also confused on how the drill should be, all of the areas were too crowded, the planned evacuation areas were not well prepared. As a result to this miscommunication and disorientation, the first part of the drill was ineffective. According to Lt. Col. Roy Castronueva, the CDRRMO Officer and a part-time instructor, the first try of the drill became unsuccessful since the circulation, and the organization did not take place, some of the students are ahead, some of them are behind; The whole Execution was considered too irrelevant as to how it should be. The morning drill went unorganized since it contains lack of orientation, and

the Medic Team did not bring first aid kit even though it was just a drill. However, after the held adjustments of Junior Medic Team together with the CDRRMO, the second part of the earthquake drill went well. From the scrambled, unarranged, jumbled, and untidy Drill, the second part of the drill became better. From the problem in evacuation, the second attempt went well since all of the students already knew what they should do during the drill, the cooperation and the inclination of every student also helped for the it to be more successful. The guidance of the selected Junior Medic Team also soothed for the students to be properly assisted while the drill takes place; From the ineffective attempt on the Morning Drill, the aim of having presence of mind was evident from the teamwork of the Benedictinians, and the CDRRMO. As Mr. Castronuevo stated, their aim is to familiarize every student on how an Earthquake will possibly strike anyone. That is why the Drill should be taken seriously, since it is all about saving lives and avoiding the petrifying impact of this kind of calamity. By: Bojo G. Evangelista

rs. Mary Joy Teruel, the Guidance Counselor of Benedictine Institute of Learning (BIL) addressed how the school handles the Mental Health Issues of students in maintaining a peace- quality school.

Mrs. Teruel stated that 30 students are diagnosed under Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism, Depression, Learning Difficulties, and Language Impairment as the school year started. “Commonly maraming unusual behavior ang mga students kung saan ino-observe natin sila kung saan nagkakaroon ng conference with the students and their teachers and yung mga parents nila,” she explained. She also added that the role of being a counselor is not to cure the disorders but to inform and counsel the students with their parents objectively about the condition that a student is suffering with. “Kapag na figure out namin na may ganun [disorders] sila ay iniinform namin ang mga parents para magpatingin sila sa mga professionals

like; Development Pediatrician, Psychologist, and Psychiatrist para ma-cure sila or ma-suppress kasi naman diba may mga therapy, medicine at treatment na ngayon,” Mrs. Teruel stated. She emphasizes that autism is not recognize by the students who had this where they were socially blind and the actions they’re committing is not suitable in the way of interacting therefore there is Anecdotal Record for the teachers to report their students’ attitude. “With this anecdotal record ay nare-report nation yung mga cases sa mga parents kung saan nagkakareoon tyayo ng two to three sessions at ang mahirap pa riyan ay yung mga parents na Indenial kung saan nahihirapan tayo na i-comminicate sila at sabihin na yung anak nila ay kailangan ipa-tingin sa Specialist,”Mrs. Teruel

continued. She affirmed that half of 30 students’ parents are in denial where they were arguing that their child is not like that or maybe the teachers have just mistaken and in that case the teachers will convince them repeatedly what they were saying to the parents until they will realize that it is true about the findings of the teachers. “Dahil sa pangungulit namin, naisip nan g mga parents na totoo pala yung mga observation nmin sa mga anak nila kung saan ay sinusunod na nila yung mga advice na binibigay naming like ipa-consult yung mga anak nila so in the end nagbubunga talaga yung pangungulit nmin sila kahit na minsan sila pa yung galit,” she concluded. round 6 out of 10 Benedictinians buy street food in and outside of the school before going to class, every recess and after dismissal, according to the survey conducted by Ora Et Labora among Junior and Senior High School students. Street foods are the go-to foods for students because it is delicious, affordable, and has a wide variety, but consuming too much is a risk and might result to sicknesses. Taho, a snack food or drink made of soy milk or softened tofu, syrup and sago, leads the poll as one of the most famous Philippine street food among Benedictinians. While kwekkwek, a tempura-like Filipino street food made by deep-frying battercoated quailed egg, is the second most commonly bought street food. Cheese sticks, sweetened cheese corn, ‘dirty’ ice cream and chicken/ fish ball follow the list. Pinoys, especially Benedictinians and street foods are inseparable -- every corner of every street caters a vendor or peddler who offers street food. Despite being affordable and accessible, their quality and cleanliness are questionable. First off, majority of sellers do not have their own filtered water, additionally, open areas invite smoke, cockroaches, mosquitos and flies, and disease-causing germs, which can affect the cleanliness of the

food. Once contaminated, it may cause complications and illnesses like hepatitis infection, typhoid fever, diarrhea, stomach pains, gastroenteritis and allergies. In fact, a Benedictine student once had allergy attacks after eating several chicken balls. He was then sent to the emergency room because the allergic reactions got worse. Aside from this, a local television food program create a program or study involving street foods such as sisig, taho, banana cue, at fish ball. After the research and consultation to a microbiologist, it was discovered that only the banana cue is safe and clean food amongst other tested street snacks. The banana cues passed the cleanliness test because it was cooked at a very high temperature where bacteria is killed. According to Benedictine Institute of Learning (BIL) Nurse April Pagunsan, street foods should be avoided because we are unaware of how it is prepared and cooked, and the ingredients used. True enough, foods sold by vendors are vulnerable to insects and bacteria present in the

streets. Nurse Pagunsan encourages students to be particular, alert and smart when buying food to avoid further risks that might affect our health. Street snacks cost ₱5 - ₱ 20, but our health costs more than that; do not jeopardize your valuable wellbeing just to save money. If really on a tight budget and buying street foods is inevitable, observe how it’s being served and prepared to ensure its cleanliness – street foods must be safe foods; also make sure to sanitize your hands by washing before and after eating. You may also seek other alternatives such as bringing biscuits and buying at the school canteen where cleanliness and sanitation are monitored. Benedictinians, choose your health, nutrition and being picky over being thrifty. Be strict with the standards of food you’re going to buy. Street foods may be delicious and cheap, but being hospitalized due to food contamination and poisoning would not be cheaper.

URTI coined main cause of students absences R

ecords from the BIL school nurse, April Pagunsan, showed that most of the cases recorded that leads to the absences of most students in Benedictine is due to the infection of upper respiratory tract.

“Ever since I started in Bene, I noticed that cases affecting the upper respiratory tract usually start at the beginning of July. Aside from bad weather, having a weak immune system may also cause it”, nurse April said. Ms. Pagunsan explained upper respiratory tract includes the mouth, nose, sinuses which are bony, air-filled cavities inside your face and skull, throat, larynx or the voice box, and the trachea or the

wind pipe. Furthermore, the school clinic recorded some Upper Respiratory Infections (URTI) in the first 2 months of the school year namely allergic rhinitis, acute nasopharyngitis, conjunctivitis, acute pharyngitis, sinusitis, and acute tonsillopharyngitis. On the hand, she claimed that these diseases, although have low chances of being fatal, hinders a student from learning at school.

“Because of these, students had to stay at home and rest because they’re body doesn’t have much strength. This also avoids other students to catch the same diseases,” said the school nurse. She also advised the students to eat more healthy foods and exercise regularly to boost your immune system and drinking vitamins may also help reduce the high risk of getting sick. By: Bojo G. Meningitis: what took our beloved teacher F

rom the death of our much-loved Sir JM Lomtong, Meningitis is the reason why we lost a teacher who has a passion for spreading hope and happiness in every life of a student.

Meningococcal disease, commonly known as Meningitis, is an inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal which is may be caused by fungi, bacteria, parasites, or by viral viruses. It is commonly the result of an infection by bacteria that already live in the nose and mouth. The bacteria enter the blood and become lodged in the brain’s outer covering, the meninges. This can also be caused by the spread of an infection occurring near the brain, such as from the ears or the sinuses. Not only that, it is also an occasional complication of brain, head, or neck surgery. Once bacteria or other organisms have found their way to the brain, they are somewhat isolated from the immune system and can spread. However, when the body eventually

begins to fight the infection, the problem can worsen. As the body tries to fight the infection, blood vessels become leaky and allow fluid, white blood cells, and other infection-fighting particles to enter the meninges and the brain. This causes brain swelling and can eventually lead to decreased blood flow to parts of the brain, worsening the symptoms of infection. Often, the average age for meningitis is 25 years, and meningitis affects both men and women equally. However, You may not know it, but teenagers and young adults are at increased risk of getting (meningitis). It is important to know the specific cause of meningitis because the treatment differs depending on the cause.Certain lifestyle factors and behaviors are thought to put healthy preteens and teens at greater risk

of meningitis infection. Fortunately, most of the bacteria that cause meningitis are not as contagious as the viruses that cause the common cold or the flu. Common symptoms include: Fever, cold hands and feet, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion and irritability, severe muscle pain, pale, blotchy skin, spots/rash, severe headache which occurs in most people with meningitis, and of course, stiff neck which occurs in most people suffering with this disease. It is really important to visit your doctor when symptoms starts to show as only approximately 45% of people with meningitis experience these classic signs. This disease could be deadly so proper prevention is necessary. By: Coby C. Gamier

The guidance counselor added that there were eight cases of students that committed acts related to the use of social

lectronic gadgets and computers are results of our modern and advanced technology; though they may be seen as causes of vices, online fraud and dependency, some are still oblivious to the benefits such devices can bring, especially to the youth. Benedictinians are beneficiaries of the convenience gadgets bring because 9 out of 10 students are using cellphones (Dulay et al.), according to a qualitative research conducted by Grade 11 students last March 2018. Moreover, 78% of students have more than 2 gadgets, and the most commonly used are cellular phones, laptops, iPads and tablets, thus proving that students and electronic devices are almost inextricable. Firstly, gadgets and networks provide connection between people; through e-mails, (electronic mails), SMS (short message service), and MMS (multimedia message service), there is now a faster and easier way of communicating with people from anywhere around the globe. Another common perk of using modern gadgets is for educational purposes. According to Educause, 99.5% of students use technology for writing academic documents and completing school activities. Vlogger’s way of developing self confidence V

logs are now conquering the industry of social media sites as most of the people are now enjoying and satisfying themselves and their viewers as well, by filming their daily routines in their everyday life.

From their dance covers, makeup tutorial, school vlogs, and food trips; vloggers tend to give much entertainment from their subscribers by sharing their passion in video graphing. Through Youtube, vloggers upload their weekly videos as they earn their subscribers who are constantly binge watching their vlogs and by giving them a thumbs up after they view it. They are now encouraged and determined to post their videos by having an increasing number of viewers. In short, most of them do this kind of entertainment because they wanted to earn enough confidence not just for themselves, but for having a guts to express yourself to others as well. “Nang dahil sa pagv-vlog ko, ‘yung confidence and selfesteem na pakiramdam ko na mas may worth SCHOOL

Based from the statement, vlog is a new way of finding your inner confidence as an individual who has a capability to show everyone what’s in you, your life, and the whole you. also has a lot of latent and less known benefits. These include discovery of talents and skills in playing online games, which are now legitimate and official sports after the Gaming and Amusements Board (GAB) allowed eSports players to secure athletic licenses starting last August. In connection with this, eSports players who use gadgets are able to contribute to the country’s pride; in the recently concluded The International 7 (TI 7), Philippines’ TNC Gaming took home P18 million after placing in the said tournament. As 21st century learners, Benedictinians must be equipped with technology-related skills, in fact, there are subjects taught in Junior and Senior High School regarding information and computer technology. It is incumbent for modern students and the youth to gain knowledge about gadgets, but it is also ethically obligatory to be knowledgeable, responsible, and disciplined enough to properly use technology.

Robotics for early ages A

BIL-based IT expert believes that in education, there is no age limit to learn and acquire new things as he claimed that Robotics, being a new centerpiece of curriculum, would be possible for Elementary and junior high school students.

Here, Mr. Joel Mañozo mentioned that at an early age, an individual can solve problems, create design, and compose on their own, and countercheck possible errors [troubleshoot] that he or she might encounter in building the robot would help meet their needs in education. However, he clarified that it would be more likely to be possible if it will be in a form of organization or club since this is an advisable action for the starters and to consider the available resources such as material, financial and human resources. “Siguro sa mga nagi-start pa lang, syempre titignan natin yung resources na meron tayo… ‘pag sinabing resources, ano yung meron tayo, especially sa [titignan natin] kakayahan ng mga devices na meron tayo,

syempre ‘pag sa resources may kaakibat na financial resources yan, at may kaakibat din yan na kung sino yung magte-train sa mga estudyante…” he further explained. Moreover, Mañozo also mentioned that there is a need for a tie-up or partnership to the schools who are already implementing this innovation to acquire more information and enhance the knowledge of the trainees. Meanwhile, Emelito Gandia Jr, a grade six pupil, believed that it will great for the students like them to explore more things. On the other hand, Mr. Mañozo, together with Mrs. Arlene Sapida, won 3rd place in the Humanoid Robotics in the conduct of National Level Training Workshop on Robotics on October 6-7 at DepEd NEAP-NCR, Marikina City. To recall, BIL implemented the Robotics classes for Junior High School, particularly 10, as part of the enhancement of the computer curriculum of the school and learning advancement of the stakeholders. onsidering E-games as a sport has been a big noise for the past few years. Until now some cannot accept it because of the fact that it lacks physical actions and it is just nonsense or another source of addiction. But we should not be alarmed if the number of people who prefer it over the traditional, physical sports bloats because it is just befitting to keep up with the innovation of the world’s continuously developing technology. Sitting in front of a computer and playing video games is not the image that comes to mind when a person thinks of an athlete. Instead, an image of someone who may not be physically fit and lacks athletic abilities is usually the stereotype that is associated. But by doing so, one’s strategic ability is enhanced, coordination improved and the brain’s speed developed. As a matter of fact the Boston Celtic player from NBA, Gordon Hayward is a living proof that playing e-games, whether console or pc is not a hindrance for a person from reaching his goal. Despite his childhood full of video games with his Dad, he is now a key small forward in his new home, Boston. “I’ve always been a competitive person, so I’ve always loved the competitive side of video games,” Hayward recalled. In addition e-sports can be the window for success to the “comshop” boys to earn money and

save up for their future and their family. According to other news, universities can also benefit from the cost of starting up an e-sports team and they can also save a lot of funds compared to other collegiate sports. As an example the iBUYPOWER arena cost $100,000 to start up, while the average college football stadium construction on the other hand, requires around $400 million in capital investments. If e-games is still not considered as a sport, the beauty in our technology will be of no use. Therefore it is just suited to embrace e-sports as a sport for it mold athletes as a person, providing them with skills they can use on a daily basis. E-sports as a lowcost sport being benefitted by the country or any state that holds an e-games league. All in all, video games are not a bother but a great convenience.

s an athlete, one needs to be disciplined inside and outside the court. The coach is responsible for the athlete’s attitude, but there are incidents wherein the disciplinary actions taken go to a point where players are being physically, verbally, and mentally abused. This issue has been existing for years, and many cases go unreported because of the sport culture where athletes tolerate this because of the perception that this way of disciplining is part of being an athlete. In an interview, Paulo Rey Aure, Benedictine Institute of Learning (BIL) Men’s Volleyball Team coach admitted that he often raise his voice to discipline his athletes and correct their mistakes.

This type of coaching may sound good, but it can lead to athletes being depressed, mentally unstable and even to worse gameplay.

PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG) is a game that is a very competitive game. Hence, if you want to converse with someone, talk to a PUBG player and surely you’ll get a response in a second! Take for instance Bryan Patrick Nato a grade 12 STEM student form Benedictine Institute of Learning, who has been playing eGames since five years old. “Kasi para sa akin, five years old pa lang ako, eto(eGames) na yung hobby ko eh, kaya parang passion ko na rin siya, nae-enjoy ko naman siya.” He said in an interview. Besides, being a PUBG player

he use of technology has been used on different aspects by the present generation also called the Millenials. Currently E-games/ E-sports has been on the trend where the present generation and Benedictinian students patronized. Benedictine Institute of Learning immediately supported students who possess the blood of the gamers and players. This has been a wonderful step made by Benedictine for the present generation to exhibit the impressive ability of Benedictinian students who play E-Games. Every month of February, alongside physical games in Intramurals, Benedictine holds E-games for the competent players studying at Benedictine to showcase their skills in the said sport. DOTA I-II consists of two teams where 5 players per team clash against each other to grab the victory by the means of destroying the Tree of Life or the Frozen Throne. Benedictine streghthened the

students through modern technology. Not only addiction but excellence

is what drives student to continously play E-games. For example Johniel Singson, a Senior High School student of Benedictine is an Honor student but at the same time is a skilled DOTA 2 player. He is one of the proof that you can play well at E-games and at the same time excel at studying. We cannot deny the fact that the present generation suddenly idolized playing E-sports. With this, the players’ numbers instantly doubled. It is appropriate to push the advocacy of making E-games an official sport.

n a survey’s result conducted by the Ora Et La Bora, the official publishing of Benedictine Institute of Learning (BIL), shows that Basketball is the most liked sports game of the Benedictinians. Eight hundred ninety-five students participated in the said survey.

Three hundred fifty-six or 40% students are favored in Basketball while 239 or 27% students chose Badminton. Volleyball on the other hand was picked by 205 or 23% students and only 95 or 10% students of BIL settled with Table Tennis. For the past years, Volleyball dominated the adrenaline of the Benedictine students, surprisingly it only placed third in the most liked sports game this school year. Badminton somehow sustained the student’s thirst for physical activities. “Kadalasan kasi ito talaga ang prefer na laruin ng mga bata hanggang sa mga guro dito sa Benedictine, lalo na ang mga lalake mula sa Elementarya hanggang Senior High School. Ito yung nilalaro nila kada oras ng P.E at kilalang kilala at patok na

patok ang isports na ito sa mga batang Bene”, explained the 11th-grader Basketball Varsity Empol Angeles. There was a time when students were fond with Volleyball, but mostly women played this game and less men desire it, this is one of the reasons why the number of students who consider this game declined. On the contrary, students have a hard time in playing table tennis. Due to the smallness of the equipment they cannot perform striking moves unlike Badminton. Playing any sports game can help our body to be physically fit, and it is just befitting to be involved in these kind of activities, by participating in the said activities will help to improve our body, to grow and to be stronger.
