Friends of Goodale Park ~ Our Brand Story
Friends of Goodale Park works to preserve and beautify Columbus’ oldest public park.
LOGO
FGP members decided the new logo should include visual representation of key identifying aspects of Goodale Park including the elephant fountain, gazebo, trees and magnolias. The design style is a twist on the vintage WPA and National Park style graphic design approach. The logo is a combination mark - it includes ‘The Mark’ as the pictorial representation and the ‘Wordmark’ that can also be used separately.
< The Mark
The mark consists of a visual representation of key recognizable aspects in Goodale Park. The blue frame should always be present on primary logo usage.
The Wordmark
The wordmark is the FGP name aspect of the logo that can be used apart from the mark in the three line stacked configuration.
Typography
The FGP logo utilizes 2 fonts: Milk & Clay and Hundergad Script . ‘Goodale’ and ‘Park’ are set in Milk & Clay. ‘Friends of’ are set in Hundergad Script.
Milk & Clay is a distressed handwritten sans serif font that has a vintage character available in caps only. Hundergrad is handwritten, friendly, legible script also with a vintage style & unique character.
Caraque Regular Solid is a recommened font that has a compatible style to the FGP logo and could be used for block quotes, headlines and special uses .

Color
The FGP logo color palette conveys the natural colors associated with the park as well as the vintage aesthetic. Green is the dominate color with blue, brown, pink and dark gray secondary colors.
Green is a dominant color in nature and therefore makes us think of growth and vitality. Green also evokes feelings of calming balance, harmony, healing and health. Shades of green express renewal and life.
Color
The Mark should be reproduced in full color as shown >
If full color reproduction is not available, the Wordmark is the default that has flexibility to be reproduced in 1 or 2 colors as well as black or grayscale.
