Dear Broadway Lover, Welcome to Something Rotten! We are glad you are with us today to share some hearty laughs. You will enjoy this great theatrical tale of two brothers who set out to invent the art form we lovingly call musicals. As a fan of Broadway at the Orpheum, I have no doubt you are up to speed on our upcoming 2018-2019 season. Hopefully, all of you who are current season ticket holders have already completed your renewal order. If you have renewed, I thank you for deciding to join us for another great year! You are well-versed on the rest of the information in this letter, so please feel free to move on to the next page. However, if you are still deciding, or are a potential new season ticket buyer, read on. Anchored by the mega-hit Hamilton, our 2018-2019 season also includes some of the newer shows I have seen on my recent trips to Broadway, all of which have become favorites of mine. I love Waitress! When patrons ask me what I recommend seeing in New York, this show has been at the top of the list. A sweet story of a small-town woman who dreams of bigger things and hopes her pies will get her there. School of Rock and On Your Feet! are wonderful music-related tales: one of a ne’er-do-well substitute teacher who teaches his young pupils to play rock-and-roll, and the other the story of a married couple whose Latin sound took over the world. A sequel to Phantom of the Opera? The idea alone makes Love Never Dies intriguing. But when Andrew Lloyd Weber writes the music, you know this sequel will transport us to a time and place none of us ever imagined when the Phantom disappeared from his lair at the end of the original classic story. Then there is Anastasia. My assistant, who grew up in the 1990s, counts the animated movie of this story as her favorite childhood film. But you do not have to be young to enjoy this lavish production. It is truly a show for all ages that will make you swoon. Is that enough to get you excited? If not, we have also included the return of two classics: Les MisÊrables and Fiddler on the Roof! No explanation is needed on these two audience-favorite shows, I think. I am also happy to share with you that we are currently at the highest number of Season Ticket Holders in the history of the Orpheum Theatre! This is great news. In the coming season, we expect to go even higher. Truly, the only way to ensure you will have tickets to see these fantastic shows is to become a season subscriber. We want to share all that our season holds for a true lover of Broadway musicals like yourself. If you want to become a Season Ticket Holder, season tickets will go on sale to the public on April 20th. Thank you for being here tonight. Thank you for your ongoing support. To paraphrase the lead character of School of Rock: Rock On, Broadway Fan, Rock On!

THEATRE ETIQUETTE As a courtesy to the performers and patrons, latecomers will be seated at an appropriate break in the performance. Turn off your cell phone and other electronic devices. The light and noise from cell phones and electronic devices are a distraction to performers and those seated around and above you. No text messaging, photography, or recording. Do not talk or whisper during the performance. Also, please refrain from searching through your purse or bag or unwrapping candy. You may be making more noise than you think. The Orpheum staff and our dedicated team of volunteer ushers work hard to accommodate modern crowds in our historic theatre. Please be patient as we work to serve you as best as possible. Certain productions may not be suitable for all ages. We recommend taking the time to determine which shows are appropriate for your children. Visit our website at Orpheum-Memphis.com or call our Box Office at (901) 5253000 if you have any questions. In order to ensure the safety of our guests, purses, briefcases, and bags may be inspected upon arrival. Firearms, knives, and weapons of any kind are prohibited inside the theatre. Other items not allowed inside the theatre include illegal drugs, laser pointers, fireworks, outside food and beverages, SLRs, DSLRs, video cameras, professional cameras, including external flash camera units or interchangeable/detachable lenses, and pets other than service animals. Larger items that have the potential to block walkways or disturb other patrons will need to be stored at coat check. For your convenience, we recommend refraining from bringing large bags to the theatre. Help us keep our venues secure — if you see anything suspicious, please tell an usher or other Orpheum Theatre Group representative.
