City to offer Holiday camps Kissimmee, FL - The City of Kissimmee Parks and Recreation Department is offering two Holiday Camp for grades K-5 (must be five years by the first day of camp) on December 23, 26 and 27, and December 30, 31, January 2, 3, and 6.

Camp will be held at the Oak Street Park Community Center located at 717 North Palm Avenue, Kissimmee, FL 34741. The fee per child includes admission to field trips, transportation, and supervision from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Campers must bring a packed lunch and snacks each day. El Condado Osceola selecciona a nueva presidenta, vicepresidenta Osceola Condado, FL Los Comisionados del Condado seleccionaron a Viviana Janer como presidenta de la Junta de Comisionados del Condado Osceola para el próximo año, el lunes, efectivo inmediatamente.

Osceola County Commissioners select new chair and vice chair Osceola County, FL - County Commissioners selected Viviana Janer as Chairwoman of the Osceola Board of County Commissioners for the upcoming year on Monday, effective immediately.

Janer represents Osceola County District 2, which includes Buenaventura Lakes and portions of the city of Kissimmee, including Lakeside and Mill Run. First elected to County office in 2014, Janer serves on numerous boards, including her current appointments as Osceola County representative on the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission and the LYNX board of trustees.

“It is truly an honor to be selected as Chairwoman by my fellow Commissioners,” said Janer, who was also chair in 2016 “It is vital to maintain positive momentum and to keep Osceola County moving in the right direction as we will continue to improve the County’s infrastructure and better the lives of our citizens every day. And with our forthcoming green initiative,

I feel certain that the quality of life for everyone will steadily improve.”

During the same meeting, District 4 Commissioner Cheryl Grieb was selected Vice Chairman. As outgoing Chairwoman, Grieb said she was proud of all that was accomplished over the last 12 months.

“I feel like the County was able to move forward on its key initiatives and find the best solutions for all of our citizens,” said Grieb. “Among them we’re advancing work on priority roads in a way that has never been done.

Residents will see those improvements sooner rather than later. We continued to build our economy with the opening of a new Class A office building at NeoCity. I look forward to continue working with Chairwoman Janer and our Board to keep Osceola on the path to prosperity.”

Osceola County Noticias / News Celebrando el Día de Acción de Gracias Condado Osceola, FL – Con motivo de la celebración del Día de Acción de Gracias, el secretario de la Corte del Condado Osceola, honorable Armando Ramírez, regaló 400 pavos a familias con limitaciones económicas.

El evento, que se llevó a cabo el sábado 23 de noviembre, es el séptimo que realiza el secretario, quien estableció la actividad como una tradición en su carácter personal junto

a su familia, en agradecimiento a los residentes quienes lo han honraron con la elección, y con la reelección, desde noviembre del 2012.

Las familias, mayormente hispanas, fueron identificadas por pastores de iglesias correspondientes al Distrito 2.

Venezuela Allá Brasil otorga asilo a más de 21 mil venezolanos Por Marco A. Jiménez Potenza – El Osceola Star Orlando, FL – El pasado jueves, 5 de diciembre del 2019, el Comité Nacional para los Refugiados (CONARE) de Brasil, otorgó asilo a 21,432 ciudadanos venezolanos.

Cabe destacar que, hoy en día Brasil alberga un aproximado de 224,000 venezolanos, de los cuales 98,000 viven bajo peticiones de asilo con un estatus pendiente.

A mediados de junio del 2019, el Gobierno de Jair Bolsonaro clasificó públicamente a Venezuela como un país donde existe una "grave y generalizada violación de los derechos humanos", lo cual posteriormente permitió a la CONARE abrir la puerta del asilo a más ciudadanos venezolanos a territorio brasileño. Debido a

esta medida, la organización “Human Rights Watch” (HRW) exhorta a otros países de la región a seguir el ejemplo de Brasil para otorgar protección legal a los refugiados venezolanos.

El anuncio que permitió la otorgación de asilo a los más de 21 mil venezolanos fue realizado en un acto en Brasilia que contó con la participación de

representantes de la Oficina del Alto Comisariado de las Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (ACNUR).

Bernardo Laferté, portavoz del CONARE, mencionó que este tipo de acción "es un marco histórico en términos de regularización migratoria, un divisor de aguas que abre precedentes para facilitar procesos semejantes en adelante".

Brazil grants asylum to more than 21 thousand Venezuelans Por Marco A. Jiménez Potenza – El Osceola Star Orlando, FL – Last Thursday, December 5, 2019, the National Committee for Refugees (CONARE) of Brazil granted asylum to 21 thousand 432 Venezuelan citizens. Where it is important to highlight that today, Brazil is home to approximately 224 thousand Venezuelans, of which 98 thousand live under asylum requests with a pending status.

As of June 2019, the Government of Jair Bolsonaro publicly classified Venezuela as a country where there is a “dreadful and widespread violation of human rights,” which subsequently allowed CONARE to open the asylum option to more Venezuelan citizens to Brazilian territory. Because of these actions, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) organization urges other countries in the region to follow Brazil's example to grant legal protection to Venezuelan refugees.

The announcement that allowed the granting of asylum to the more than 21 thousand Venezuelans, was made at an event in Brasília where representatives of the Office of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) were present. Bernardo Laferté, the spokesman for CONARE, mentioned that this type of action “is a historical framework in terms of migratory regularization, a watershed that opens precedents to facilitate similar processes in the future.”

Local News Cónsul de México en Orlando se reúne con el Sheriff de Osceola Osceola County, FL – El martes, 10 de diciembre, 2019 se reunión el cónsul de México en Orlando Juan Sabines con el sheriff del Condado Osceola Russ Gibson. A la reunión se unieron miembros del equipo del sheriff, mayor Jacob Ruiz y Bethzaida García, de la Oficina de Relaciones Públicas del Sheriff.

Entre los temas discutidos se habló sobre la realización de la Academia Hispana del Sheriff de Osceola, también de la certificación para las víctimas de violencia con y sin documentos migratorios. La Academia para Ciudadanos enseña los derechos y protocolos de actuación de las autoridades en distintas situaciones, actividad enfocada además en que la comunidad refuerce su confianza en las autoridades.

El sheriff Russ Gibson expresó que sus oficiales no persiguen a individuos sin documentos, sólo se dedican a combatir el crimen con buenos resultados.

Acompañó al cónsul Juan Sabines a esta reunión, el Sr. Guillermo Hansen, editor del periódico El Osceola Star, quien hará las gestiones necesarias, junto con el Consulado, para llevar a cabo la Academia del Sheriff.

También asistieron a la reunión David Díaz, coordinador de Comunicaciones del Consulado de México; Alberto Martínez, del Centro de Defensoría del Consulado de México en Orlando; y Juan Pablo Sabines, hijo del cónsul.

One of the topics discussed was the realization of the Hispanic Academy of Sheriff of Osceola, also the certification for victims of violence with and without immigration documents. The Academy for Citizens teaches the rights and protocols of action of the authorities in different situations, this is an activity focused on the community to reinforce its trust in the authorities.

Sheriff Russ Gibson expressed that his officers do not persecute individuals without documents, they only work to combat crime with good results.

To this meeting attended Mr. Guillermo Hansen, Editor of the newspaper El Osceola Star, who will take the necessary steps, together with the Consulate, to carry out the Sheriff's Academy.

Three King’s Day in Osceola press conference Osceola County, FL – For fifteen years the Hispanic Business Council of the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Three King’s Day in Osceola. Celebrated in many countries of the world and most of Latin America, the Three King’s Day, or “El Día de los Reyes” is a holiday recognized by different cultures, as a way to remember the three Wise Men or Kings, as they brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to Baby Jesus.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, the Three Kings brought an early present to Osceola. On behalf of the Hispanic Business Council a scholarship donation of $5,000 to be matched

by Osceola County Commissioner Peggy Choudhry for a total of $10,000 through Amigos Helping Amigos (a non-for-profit community organization) and Florida Technical College. Marco Antonio Jiménez, Belén Infante and Carmen Luciano, the students that received these scholarships, attended the press conference.

The Three King’s Day celebration will take place on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Old Town at 5770 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy., Kissimmee, FL 34746.

Over 8,000 people, mostly children, with their families attended last year’s event and we anticipate that this year the number will be higher, due to the amount of families relocated from Puerto Rico and Central and South America. All Central Florida community is welcomed to attend.

Police & Sheriff Noticias / News Robo en Invasión de Hogar Condado Osceola, FL - El 5 de diciembre de 2019, aproximadamente a las 9:13 a.m., los agentes de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado Osceola respondieron al informe de una Invasión en el Hogar en la subdivisión Morningside Acres. La víctima dijo a los agentes que fue despertada por tres hombres armados con máscaras en su dormitorio. Los sospechosos la agarraron y registraron la residencia mientras la sostenían a punta de pistola. Los sospechosos salieron de la residencia con un armario de armas que contenía varias armas de fuego.

Mientras los agentes registraban la zona, una persona anónima reportó tres sujetos en el área del 620 Royal Palm Drive disparando armas de fuego en el patio trasero.

Home Invasion Robbery Osceola County, FL - On December 5, 2019, at approximately 9:13 a.m., deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a Home Invasion in the Morningside Acres subdivision. The victim told deputies she was woken up by three armed men wearing masks in her bedroom. The suspects grabbed her and searched the residence while holding her at gun point. The suspects left the residence with a gun cabinet which contained several firearms. While deputies were searching the area, an anonymous caller reported three subjects in the area of 620 Royal Palm Drive shooting firearms in the backyard.

The Sheriff’s Office Aviation responded to the area and located three individuals matching the description of the suspects and their vehicle. The suspects were standing in the backyard with the vehicle and the stolen safe still in the vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and detained the suspects at the residence. The victim’s safe, and firearms were located in the vehicle and inside the residence.

Detectives arrested Jesús Miguel Márquez-Sánchez (juvenile), Miguel Danyel Márquez-Sánchez (Adult), and Francisco Antonio Claudio-Muñiz (juvenile). The suspects were charged with Home Invasion, Aggravated Assault, and Grand Theft on a zero bond.

El Porto y el Benfica de hace algunos años comandaron la legión portuguesa que fue exitosa, pero solo en la Europa League.

Del Este del continente llegaron el Shakhtar Donetsk o el Zenit de San Petersburgo, levantaron trofeos, pero solo de la Europa League (antigua copa UEFA), y ya en la década pasada. ¿PSV o Feyenoord? ¿Celtic o Rangers? ¿Algún candidato nórdico o balcánico? Muy poco de ellos, realmente. El futbol

It’s a clear sign that money matters more than ever in football. Great players concentrate on fewer teams, and the rest don't have much of a chance. Four or five leagues dominate the world, and the tendency is to continue that way for a long time.

Worst of all, the Champions League will not return until February, but at least we have the draw, which will be held next Monday. The worthy ones to the next round are, from Spain: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, Atleti.
