Chespirito ¡¡¡El Chavo sigue vivo!!! Luego de su lamentable muerte, Roberto Gómez Bolaños, creador del famoso Chavo del 8 así como del Chapulín Colorado y otros personajes que nos hicieron reír, podríamos decir que continúa vivo en nuestras casas ya que sus programas de comedia no han dejado de estar presentes en nuestros televisores. La muerte de Roberto Gómez Bolaños , creador de El Chavo del 8, generó un enorme impacto en el mundo: se fue la persona que hizo reír a todas las generaciones desde los 70 en adelante. Escuchar el nombre de Chespirito, el cual era su nombre artístico, nos provoca sonrisas y nostalgias a todos los que crecimos con el deseo de llegar de la escuela o del trabajo y podernos sentar a ver las ocurrencias, las travesuras, la creatividad de cada uno de sus personajes junto a sus compañeros de comedia y olvidarnos por un rato de todo el afán de nuestro diario vivir. El Chavo se estrenó el 20 de junio de 1971 y se filmaron 1,300 capítulos durante los 24 años que estuvo al aire en la televisión mexicana. Décadas después de su estreno, cada día 91 millones de televidentes ven un
capítulo de El Chavo del 8 en América, principalmente en los Estados Unidos y en Brasil. Pero "El Chavo” ha ido más allá y han sido varias generaciones, principalmente de latinoamericanos, las que han crecido y reído con esta serie que se ha doblado a 50 idiomas y que desde 2006 cuenta con su versión de dibujos animados. Cuatro décadas después de su estreno, la serie estrella del fallecido comediante mexicano Roberto Gómez Bolaños, "El chavo del ocho", sigue emitiéndose en canales de toda América Latina pese a la creciente competencia de nuevos programas y animaciones infantiles. ObamaCare La Ley de Cuidado de Salud a Bajo Precio y el Control de Inmigración De nuevo está abierta la oportunidad de inscribirse en el mercado de seguros de salud bajo la Ley de Cuidado de Salud a Bajo Precio. La fecha límite para inscribirse para conseguir cobertura a partir del 1 de enero 2015 es el 15 de diciembre de 2014, y la fecha límite para inscribirse en cobertura para el resto del 2015 es el 15 de febrero 2015. En este período de inscripción abierta, es importante recordar al público un mensaje que hemos emitido antes: Hemos oído que algunos personas que viven en los Estados Unidos que son elegibles para inscribirse en el Seguro de Salud del mercado son reacios a hacerlo por temor de que la información que proporcionan en sus solicitudes para la cobertura de salud será compartida con las autoridades de inmigración y se utiliza para deportar a sus familiares indocumentados. Affordable Care Act and Immigration Enforcement The ability to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace provided by the Affordable Care Act is open again. The deadline to enroll for coverage starting January 1, 2015 is December 15, 2014, and the deadline to enroll for coverage for the rest of 2015 is February 15, 2015. In this period of open enrollment, it is important to remind the public of a message that we have delivered before: We have heard that some Americans who are eligible to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace are reluctant to do so because they fear that the information they provide on their health coverage applications will be shared with immigration authorities and used to deport their undocumented family members. This is not true. Since October 2013, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (or “ICE,” as the agency is commonly known) has had a policy that states that the information you present on your application to enroll for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act will not be the basis for pursuing an immigration enforcement action. This policy remains in effect. The policy
is available, in English and in Spanish, on ICE’s public website; it can be found here. A policy like this is not new, as we have issued similar guidance when it came to the information provided for the 2010 Census and after natural disasters that impacted immigrant communities. No one in America who is eligible should be afraid to apply for health coverage because they have a family with mixed immigration status. Enrolling in health coverage – and using the health insurance that this important law extends to eligible individuals – will not prevent your loved ones who are undocumented from getting a green card in the future or put family members who do not yet have a green card at risk. We all deserve the security and the peace of mind that comes from having health coverage that’s there for us – that we can count on when we need it most The Obama Administration is doing everything we can to make sure we reach as many of those who are eligible to enroll as possible. I encourage eligible individuals to go to HealthCare. gov or CuidadodeSalud.gov to check out their options and enroll.

Con la época festiva que se acerca rápidamente, es tiempo de reflexionar en los éxitos del pasado año, un momento de pasar tiempo con familiares y amigos y un tiempo para reconocer todas las bendiciones que cada uno de nosotros recibimos. Deseo expresarles mi agradecimiento y aprecio por el arduo trabajo y los logros de cada uno de las personas que forman parte del Distrito Escolar de Osceola. Mientras visito los recintos escolares del Distrito, me asombro del amplio y profundo conocimiento que tenemos en nuestro Distrito Escolar y cómo influencia todos los días para aumentar las oportunidades educativas para nuestros estudiantes. Letter from School Board Chairman Merry Christmas! With the holiday season upon us, it is a time to reflect on the successes of the past year, a time to spend with family and friends, and a time to recognize all the blessings each of us have. I want to express my thankfulness and gratitude for the hard work and accomplishments of everyone who plays a part in the Osceola School District. As I visit school campuses across the district, I marvel at the breadth and depth of expertise we have in our school district, and how it is leveraged every day to increase educational opportunities for our students. Our school district has made great strides as we continue to work towards the vision of outperforming all other school districts in the state. For example, I am proud to share that: • The National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth selected the Osceola School District as the sole recipient of the prestigious 2014 Award for Distinguished Service and Leadership for outstanding efforts to provide service to homeless children, youth, and families. • Superintendent Melba Luciano was named 2014 Superintendent Literacy Leader of the Year for Florida by Just Read, Florida!, the Florida Reading Association, and the Florida Literacy Coaches Association. • The Florida Department of Education recognized the Osceola School District as one of only five Florida counties to improve in all seven academic assessment areas on the 2014 FCAT. • Osceola is the only Central Florida school district with no schools identified on the state’s “Lowest 300 Performing Elementary Schools” list
developed by the Florida Department of Education. • Celebration High earned a prestigious place on the national lists of “Top USA High Schools” and “Break-Out High Schools”, compiled by The Daily Beast in 2014. • Boggy Creek Elementary ranked number one in the world on minutes read by students as part of the worldwide Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. • Thirty-seven Osceola schools have been designated this year as Five Star Schools by the Florida Department of Education in recognition of exemplary family, school, and community involvement. In fact, there are many examples of how the district outperformed in 2014. Building a great school district is not simply about structure - it is about its people, about shared visions, about enduring commitments and partnerships, and about endless compassion and understanding. Recognition of the successes goes to the teachers and support staff, administrators, parents, students, and community residents for the part they play in making it happen. I am appreciative of the more than 58,000 Osceola students that come to school each day, of the more than 7,000 team members who work in the school district in the best interest of children, and of our wonderful community that believes in the power of a quality education for all. The largest lease signed in Downtown Orlando in 2014, is the new 91,000 square-foot Red Lobster Restaurant Support Center, which will move 300 permanent jobs and a Culinary Development Center to Downtown. A new Women’s Business Center, aimed at supporting women-owned technology businesses, will be located at CANVS and is expected to open and begin offering programming in January 2015. The first phase of Bikeshare will roll out in early January 2015 and includes 20 bicycles at four different locations, OUC Headquarters, Skyhouse, Gertrude’s Walk and Lake Eola Park. The City has committed $5 million over three years to provide permanent supportive housing for 300 chronically homeless individuals and is joined by Florida Hospital who has pledged $6 million over the next three years towards the Mayor’s initiative. Familia / Family Madres solteras, ¿merecen ser criticadas? Por Roberto y Yoly Sabillon Instituto Afamela para familia y matrimonio - Fundadores A través de los tiempos, las madres solteras han tenido que soportar insultos, críticas y prejuicios. Ellas han tenido que sobrevivir en un mundo hostil, en soledad, soportando que la sociedad las señale con el dedo y hable de ellas a la espalda. Sin embargo, sus hijos son su mayor tesoro, y ellas se vuelven fuertes. El amor que sienten hacia su hijo/a hace que todo merezca la pena. Muchas veces se critica a una madre soltera sin ni siquiera detenerse a pensar en las razones. Ha sido incomprendida y criticada, y muchas veces la peor parte ha venido de su propia familia, que tenía grandes expectativas para ella. Todo porque esa niña, en algún momento, se olvidó de si misma y se entregó en nombre del amor. Un amor que un irresponsable le prometió, pero que desapareció por arte de magia, evadiendo la sagrada responsabilidad de ser padre. Para muchas mujeres, descubrir que una vida se está gestando en su vientre es despertar brutalmente a una realidad que no pueden cambiar. ¿Quién puede cambiar la mente de un irresponsable cuando huye de sus responsabilidades? Aunque hay mujeres que escogen ser madres solteras, muy pocas
lo son por su propia voluntad y decisión. Las madres solteras, en contra de críticas, prejuicios, desprecios, abandono, dolor y lágrimas, se enfrentan al mundo con ese hijo que crece dentro de ellas: Son dignas de respeto y admiración, porque esa mujer que ayer estaba llena de sueños y metas, tiene ahora un doble rol que cumplir: el de madre y padre. Ella debe cuidar de ese hijo que fue dejado en su vientre, que fue olvidado por un hombre que no supo cuidar de la semilla que ahora germina en su jardín bendito. Una semilla que muy pronto llenará de amor los brazos de una mujer llamada, muchas veces con desprecio, “madre soltera”. Madre bendita y abnegada, madre soltera que defiendes y proteges a ese hijo que te fue dado con engaños, con inconsciencia de un hombre que no dudó en dejarte a tu suerte con esa preciosa carga: ve hacia adelante y derrumba los prejuicios de gente que llama a tu hijo “ilegitimo”. Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Acusan a dos reclutadores militares estadounidenses por sostener sexo con ciertos menores Condado Osceola - Detectives del Sheriff del Condado Osceola obtuvieron órdenes de arresto contra Christopher Glenn Doner, de 30 años, y John Back, de 33 años, dos reclutadores del Ejército de los Estados Unidos. Doner y Back trabajan en la oficina del área de Kissimmee y visitan con frecuencia las escuelas secundarias para reclutar estudiantes para que se unan a los militares. The mother of a victim contacted the Sheriff's Office after learning her daughter was sexually active with two adult males. The 17-year old victim was brought in for questioning and told detectives earlier this year, she met two United States Army recruiters while attending school at Harmony High School. She began communicating with both recruiters, identified as Doner and Back. The victim was sexually active with both suspects at different times during the course of several months. Doner and Back both asked her to stop the relationship with the other person, but she did not.
Anyone with information about similar incidences is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at (407) 348-2222 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.
In late November, Doner was brought in for questioning and cooperated with the investigation. He told detectives he knew it was inappropriate and indicated he would end the relationship. Comunidad / Community Cambio final de tráfico de la Fase II de Osceola Parkway Condado Osceola, FL - El cambio final de tráfico por las obras de construcción a lo largo del proyecto de ampliación de la Fase II de Osceola Parkway se llevó a cabo el 3 de diciembre. La carretera afectada es desde Buenaventura Boulevard hasta Heritage Lakes Boulevard, una distancia aproximada de 2 kilómetros.
Durante el intercambio, el tráfico estará utilizando las nuevas carreteras en dirección este y oeste, pero se limitará sólo a los carriles exteriores para permitir a los contratistas completar el trabajo en las áreas medias. City of Kissimmee Announces Upcoming John Young Parkway Lane Closures Osceola Parkway Phase II - Final Traffic Switch Osceola County, FL - The final traffic switch for construction work along Osceola Parkway’s Phase II widening project took place on December 3. The affected roadway is from Buenaventura Boulevard to Heritage Lakes Boulevard, a distance of approximately 2 miles.
During the switch, traffic will be utilizing the new eastbound and westbound roadways, but will be restricted to only the outside lanes to allow contractors to complete work on the median areas. All intersection signals and street signage will be in place and fully functional, but traffic is urged to be alert to construction signage in the area and to the temporary posted 35 mph speed limit that will be strictly enforced during the final phase of construction.

Orlando sitting steady in 9th in the Eastern Conference Orlando, FL - The Orlando Magic was looking to snap a four game losing streak after a 15 point loss in Indiana last Friday. On their first game out west, they did. Tobias Harris led the team with 21 points. Orlando was up by 11 going into the fourth quarter. The Suns rallied a little too late and the Magic got away with a 93 to 90 victory. Nik Vucevic added 18 points and 8 rebounds for Orlando. The team traveled to California to face Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Vucevic sat out due to back spasms. Kyle O’Quinn filled in for Vucevic. The young Magic men played some of the best basketball they had all season. Orlando was up by 9 with four minutes left to play but the warriors tied it up with consecutive 3 pointers. Orlando fought back and was up by 2 with only 2.2 seconds left on the clock, but Steph Curry sank an incredible 3 to win the game. Kyle O’Quinn gave an impressive performance with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Victor Oladipo led the team in scoring with 21 while Harris added 17 and Evan Fournier had 10. This young team is continuing to improve each and every game. The Warriors are the best team in league in the standings right now while Orlando is sitting steady in 9th in the Eastern Conference. Consistency in their performance will slowly start turning into consistent wins. The Magic needed to move on quickly for their game in Los Angeles the following night. The Magic faced the Clippers in another upset. This time it would be a blow out. The Magic playing without Vucevic again put O’Quinn back in the starting lineup. Unfortunately for O’Quinn and the Magic, the big man received a questionable flagrant two foul just 7 minutes into the game. O’Quinn went up to block Griffin as he went for the dunk. O’Quinn got the ball and Griffin’s face. It wasn’t vicious or intentional, just an unfortunate call that left the Magic shorthanded. It was all hands on deck with every healthy Magic man getting minutes but it wasn’t enough. Harris led the team with 16 and Oladipo finished with 11 in 114 to 86 loss in L.A. The Magic will play in Utah against the Jazz tonight and in Sacramento Saturday before making their way home to host the Washington Wizards next Wednesday.

Meanwhile, I must add, their bread is baked especially for Cooper's Hawk. The other appetizer was not far behind; for mushroom lovers, they stuff them with Chicken Pastor style featuring sausages, "pepper jack" cheese and cilantro. They were "finger licking" good! Finally, we reached the main course, as there was no "room" for dessert. The Short Rib Risotto with truffle oil which was perfectly cooked "al dente" steaming truffles' aroma was irresistible. The beef practically dissolved when pulled... exquisite! Additionally, they brought a "churrasco" with fries, that looked rather simple. Be ready for the most "mouth watering" piece of beef we have ever experienced, complimented with fries seasoned in truffle oil, parmesan cheese and cilantro with lime aliolio. What can be said? We have been searching for Orlando's "churrasco holy grail"... look no further. Marinated, sealed and grilled to perfection in a composite with oven, creating an effect so unique I can only describe as extremely juicy, with dimensions of flavors that explode in your mouth, so tender you do not need a knife. Churrasco utopia! No other words for this dish...PERIOD. It is intimate dining, a feeling of being among friends, no attack on your savings account while leaving a lasting impression on your partner or guests. The whole experience can easily take several hours (if you have time, do it!), I suggest Cooper's Hawk. Those who know say that when you find your soul mate, do not let go, capture it! This is the "perfect" place to taste and enjoy good company in a very different educational environment, which is definitely habit forming, forcing you to return for more! Look no further! Si deseas cenar íntimamente, pero en un ambiente que te sientes entre amigos, que te atiendan como un "rey", que no te ataque tu cuenta de ahorros y que dejes impresionado a tu pareja ó invitados en una " jornada" que, si deseas toda la experiencia fácilmente puede tomarte varias horas(¡si dispones de tiempo hazlo!), les sugiero Cooper's Hawk.
Por último llegamos al plato principal,, pues no hubo "espacio" para el postre... El Short Rib Risotto con aceite de trufas que estaba cocido perfectamente " al dente" y el aroma de las trufas era irresistible. La carne de las costillas desmenuzaba fácilmente...¡Exquisito! Adicionalmente, nos trajeron un churrasco con papas fritas, muy simple. en aceite de trufas, queso parmesano y un aliolio de cilantro con limón. ¿Qué puedo decirles?
