The recent decision denying a longer stay has created statewide confusion about the effect of the injunction, which is directed to only one of Florida's sixtyseven clerks of court.

In a continuation of the effort to maintain uniformity and order throughout Florida until final resolution of the numerous challenges to the voter-approved constitutional amendment on marriage,

KUA - Noticias / News Policía de Kissimmee y KUA advierten de fraude en facturación Kissimmee, FL - El Departamento de Policía de Kissimmee y Kissimmee Utility Authority están trabajando juntos para advertir a los residentes de una estafa de facturación de la que están siendo víctima los clientes de la empresa.

Kissimmee Police and KUA Warn of Billing Fraud Kissimmee, FL - The Kissimmee Police Department and Kissimmee Utility Authority are working together to warn residents of a billing scam targeting utility customers.

KUA customers are receiving phone calls from individuals indicating they are an employee of the electric company.

The “employee” informs the victim that the electric bill has not been paid and a crew is being dispatched to their location to disconnect power. The victim is told if they purchase a pre-paid money card and provide the confirmation to the caller the crew will not be dispatched.

The Kissimmee Police Department

has noticed a spike in these types of fraud calls within the past few days.

Here are reminders for utility customers: • Never provide your Social Security Number, credit card number or banking information to anyone requesting it over the phone or at your home unless you initiated the contact and feel confident with whom you are speaking.

• If you receive a call claiming to be your utility company and feel pressured for immediate payment or personal information, hang up the phone and call the customer service number on your KUA bill.

• Always think safety first. Do not give in to high-pressure tactics over the phone or in person for information.

If you receive a phone call of this nature, do not send money. Call the police to report the incident immediately.

Kissimmee - Noticias / News Concurso de decoración de vitrinas para Navidad de Kissimmee Main Street Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Main Street y la Asociación de Empresas del Centro de la Ciudad realizaron el Concurso de Decoración de Vitrinas para Navidad en el centro histórico de Kissimmee.

Nuestro distrito histórico está decorado para la temporada de Navidad, ¡gracias a muchos estudiantes de arte! Muchas empresas participaron en el evento de decoración de vitrinas que muestran los trabajos de estudiantes locales a través de los vidrios en las fachadas de las tiendas del Centro de Kissimmee. ¡Las ventanas están decoradas con temas de Navidad y de invierno y muestran la creatividad de los más jóvenes miembros de nuestra comunidad!

Se envió una invitación a los profesores de arte en muchas escuelas en Kissimmee. Cada escuela participante recibió $100 para su programa de arte.

El centro histórico cuenta con 11 vitrinas decoradas. Tres jueces caminaron por todo el centro y evaluaron todos los diseños por su creatividad y tema para determinar premios. Había dos categorías; escuela elemental y superior.

Kissimmee Main Street holiday window decorating contest Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Main Street and the Downtown Business Association present the Holiday Window Decorating Contest in historic downtown Kissimmee.

Our historic district is decorated for the holiday season, thanks to many local art students! Many businesses participated in a window decorating event that displays local students’ work across the glass store fronts of downtown Kissimmee. The windows are decorated in winter holiday themes and display the creativity of our younger community members!

An invitation was sent out to the art teachers at many Kissimmee schools. Each participating school received $100 towards their art program. Historic downtown had 11 storefront windows decorated.

3 judges walked throughout downtown and scored all windows on creativity and theme to determine awards. There were two categories; elementary and high school.

The Elementary School 1st place goes to Kissimmee Elementary School, Mr. Rodriguez’s class; Massageworks Salon and Day Spa The High School 1st place goes to Osceola High School, Mr. Rossi’s Art Club; Lanier’s Historic

Downtown Marketplace. The 2nd place goes to Osceola High School, Mr. Rossi’s Art Club; Echoes of Yesterday. The 3rd place goes to Professional and Technical High School, Ms. Middleton’s Glocal Club; Shore’s Menswear Because of the tremendous support from our sponsors, all the winners will be awarded prize money from their art program. First place will receive $400, second place $250 and third place $100.

I’m concerned that I may not be seeing as well as I used to. What should I do?

However, if you think your vision has changed, you should see your eyecare professional as soon as possible.

Vision changes like these could be early warning signs of eye disease.

Usually, the earlier your problem is diagnosed, the better your chances are for successful treatment and maintaining your vision.

These devices include: adjustable lighting; large-print publications; magnifying devices;closed-circuit televisions; electronic reading machines; computer systems with voice-recognition; telephones, clocks and watches with large numbers.

Regular eye exams should be part of your routine health care.

Devices and rehabilitation programs can help you adapt to vision loss. They may help you maintain your lifestyle.

I’m beginning to have trouble with my hearing. Is there anything I can do short of getting hearing aids?

There other “hearing aids” you should consider. There are listening systems to help you enjoy television or radio without being bothered by other sounds around you. Some hearing aids can be plugged directly into TVs, music players, microphones, and personal FM systems to help you hear better.

Some telephones work with certain hearing aids to make sounds louder and remove background noise.

And some auditoriums, movie theaters, and other public places are equipped with special sound systems that send sounds directly to your ears.

Alerts such as doorbells, smoke detectors, and alarm clocks can give you a signal that you can see or a vibration that you can feel. For example, a flashing light can let you know someone is at the door or on the phone.

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Policía de Kissimmee arresta hombre por intento de asesinato Kissimmee, FL - Los oficiales de la Policia de Kissimmee arrestaron a Ronald Batista, de 57 años de edad, por intento de asesinato.

Kissimmee Police Arrest Man for Attempted Murder male throwing several punches in Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee police officers have arrested 57 year old Ronald Batiste for attempted murder.

On December 12, 2014 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Kissimmee police officers responded to 1700 West Vine Street in Kissimmee in reference to a 9-1-1 hang up call. Officers checked the area but no one was found. As officers drove to the back of the business, they observed a curtain at one of the rooms at the Gold Orchid Inn located at 1620 West Vine Street quickly open. Officers saw a large

downward position inside of the room.

As officers approached the room they could see the male, identified as Ronald Batiste, battering a petite female. Officers gave commands for Batiste to open the door and Batiste complied. The female suffered from several injuries including stab wounds.

The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. Ronald Batiste was charged with Attempted Murder and Hindering a Call to Law Enforcement. He was transported to the Osceola County jail and is held on no bond.

Suspect Arrested for 5 Counts of Car Burglary Osceola County - On December 9 at approximately 9:55 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to 1946 Big Cypress Drive in St. Cloud. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with three victims who indicated their cars had been burglarized. Items stolen included cash, gift cards, credit cards and a purse.

Based on Wright's statements and the evidence, he was arrested and charged with 4 counts of Car Burglary, 1 count of Armed Car Burglary, Grand Theft, Criminal Mischief and Petit Theft. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

El Magic regresa a casa luego de un itinerario de viaje caótico Orlando, FL - El viernes pasado, el Magic de Orlando se enfrentó a los Hawks de Atlanta. Orlando fue competitivo en su juego los primeros tres cuartos, pero perdió en la recta final. Este es el mismo problema que el Magic tuvo toda la temporada pasada.

Orlando iba al frente por 12 en el tercer cuarto, hasta que Atlanta cambió su juego. Los Hawks añadieron presión sobre la defensa y jugaron muy agresivos para anotar y ganar este juego.
