Publication 17, Your Federal Income Tax, features details on taking advantage of a wide range of taxsaving opportunities, such as the American Opportunity Tax Credit for parents and college students, and the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit for low and moderate income workers. It also features a rundown on tax changes for 2013 including information on revised tax rates and new limits on various tax benefits for some taxpayers. This useful 292 page guide also provides thousands of interactive links to help taxpayers quickly get answers to their questions. Publication 17 has been published annually by the IRS since the 1940s and has been available on the IRS web site since 1996. As in prior years, this publication is packed with basic
tax-filing information and tips on what income to report and how to report it, figuring capital gains and losses, claiming dependents, choosing the standard deduction versus itemizing deductions, and using IRAs to save for retirement. Osceola Escuelas / Schools Distrito Escolar cumple con los requisitos de la enmienda al tamaño de las clases Condado Osceola, F.L. - En el 2002, los ciudadanos aprobaron una enmienda a la Constitución de Florida que establece límites al número de estudiantes en las clases de asignaturas básicas, tales como, matemáticas, inglés, estudios sociales y ciencia en las escuelas públicas del Estado. A través del arduo trabajo de administradores de las escuelas y el personal, la superintendente Melba Luciano se enorgullece al informar que el Distrito Escolar de Osceola cumple totalmente con la enmienda al tamaño de las clases para este año escolar. Osceola School District meets class-size amendment requirements Osceola County, FL - In 2002, citizens approved an amendment to the Florida Constitution that set limits on the number of students in core classes, such as mathematics, English, social studies, and science in the state’s public schools. Through the hard work of school administrators and staff, Superintendent Melba Luciano is proud to report that the Osceola School District is in full compliance with the class-size amendment for this school year. This task, which is an unfunded mandate for local school districts, involved ensuring that 15,988 Osceola classes across the district met the following requirements: --18 students in prekindergarten through Grade 3; --22 students in
Grades 4 through 8; and --25 students in Grades 9 through 12. “I am extremely proud of our schools for meeting the class-size requirement,” said Superintendent Melba Luciano. “With the high amount of student mobility in our county, it requires tireless attention each and every day to ensure compliance. I commend our teachers, administrators, students, and parents for their patience, determination, and flexibility.” At the School Board meeting on November 5, 2013, the Osceola County School Board approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to permit flexibility for students enrolling after the October Membership Survey, as allowed in Section 15 of
Chapter 2011-55, Laws of Florida. Superintendent Luciano and School Board members felt that it is impractical and disruptive to student learning to not permit the flexibility. A student who enrolls in a school after the October Membership Survey may now be assigned to an existing class that temporarily exceeds the maximum number of students assigned to each teacher. The Board’s approval allows up to three students to be assigned to a teacher in kindergarten through Grade 3 and up to five students in Grades 4-12 above the maximum. The Osceola County School District will continue its successful efforts to meet class size by providing adequate staffing resources and monitoring core course class size for the current and upcoming school years.

They’ve signed up either for private insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace or for the Medicaid program. There’s still time for you to enroll and have coverage as soon as February 1. All you have to do is sign up with the Health Insurance Marketplace by January 15. The Health Insurance Marketplace helps people who need health coverage to find it. When you fill out the Marketplace application, you’ll find out if you qualify for a private health insurance plan and whether you qualify for lower costs based on your household size and income. Some people may qualify for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs in their state. Even if you don’t qualify for lower costs, you can still use the Marketplace to buy insurance. Desde el escenario Paula Machado, Reportera de Infomás fue la anfitriona del evento. El Departamento de Policía de Kissimmee regaló un casco protector a cada uno de los niños ganadores de las bicicletas. Ellos junto con el Departamento del Sheriff del Condado Osceola ejercieron un papel muy importante para que el evento se desarrollara de forma tranquila y segura. Muchas culturas de todas partes del mundo celebran el Día de Reyes, para conmemorar el día en que los 3 Reyes Magos siguieron la estrella de Belén
para llevar sus regalo de Oro, Incienso y Mirra hasta el pesebre donde había nacido el niño Jesús. En el Condado Osceola, el Concilio Hispano de Negocios adoptó esta tradición para traerles mucha alegría a los habitantes más pequeños del Condado Osceola y de Florida Central.

Orlando Magic El Magic renuncia a Hedo Turkoglu y Solomon Jones Por Amanda Ludick Orlando, FL - Al Orlando Magic le fue finalmente posible renunciar a sus derechos sobre Hedo Turkoglu el viernes pasado. Turkoglu jugó para el Magic en el 2009 cuando el Magic fue el campeón de la Conferencia Este. Él fue traspasado a Phoenix por una temporada y luego se encontró de nuevo en Orlando. Turkoglu tuvo una mala temporada el año pasado a causa de una lesión en su mano en el primer partido de la temporada. A su regreso a la cancha, dio positivo a PED y fue suspendido por la mayoría del resto de la temporada pasada. La gerencia del Magic acordó negociar una indemnización con Turkoglu y su agente. La investigación se inició en noviembre de 2013, cuando los agentes tomaron un informe de una madre de un incidente lascivo e impúdico. The investigation began in November 2013, when deputies took a report from a mother of a lewd and lascivious incident. The mother told deputies her 14year old daughter was receiving inappropriate text messages from Laurencio who lives in the same community. The 14-year old girl met Laurencio when she was at her school bus stop in the neighborhood. Laurencio asked to exchange phone numbers so that his son and the victim’s brother could play together since they were the same age. Laurencio began texting the victim inappropriate sexual messages even though the victim did not respond back. When the victim’s mother saw these messages she contacted the Sheriff’s Office. As part of the investigation, detectives began texting Laurencio messages from the victim’s phone. Unaware he was not communicating with the victim, Laurencio sent inappropriate sexual messages and in one of the messages, Laurencio sent a picture of himself which assisted detectives with locating him in the neighborhood. He was brought in for questioning and cooperated with the investigation, telling detectives he sent the victim numerous sexual messages, fully aware of the victim’s age.
