Mes de la Hispanidad Hispanic Heritage Month Kissimmee, FL – ¡Celebremos el mes de la Herencia Hispana! En septiembre de 1968, el Congreso autorizó al Presidente Lyndon B. Johnson la proclamación de la Semana Nacional de La Herencia Hispana, que se celebraba durante la semana que incluía el 15 y 16 de septiembre. Luego, en 1988, la celebración fue ampliada a una conmemoración de un mes (del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre), efectivo desde el próximo año. América celebra la cultura y tradiciones de aquellos con raíces españolas, mexicanas y todos los de habla hispana de Centro América, Suramérica y el Caribe. El 15 de septiembre fue escogido como el punto de inicio de la celebración debido a que es el aniversario de la independencia de cinco países latinoamericanos: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras y Nicaragua. Sept. 15 was chosen as the starting point for the celebration because it is the

$25K grant to forge safe routes to school
