Hispanicotorga Business becas Council grants scholarships Osceola County, FL – On October 11th, 2011 the Hispanic Business Council (HBC) of the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce granted $6,000 in scholarships awards to Valencia College – Osceola Campus students in commemoration of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.
Condado Osceola, FL – El 11 de octubre de 2011 el Concilio Hispano de Negocios (HBC, siglas en inglés) de a Cámara de Comercio del Condado Kissimmee/Osceola otorgó $6,000 en becas a estudiantes del Valencia College – Osceola Campus en conmemoración de la celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Las cuatro becas otorgadas fueron: Para estudiantes de tiempo completo: • Joel Lora - $2,000 AAS – Mercadeo • Isabel de la Cruz Tirado $2,000 AS – BS en Administración de Negocios Para estudiantes de tiempo parcial: • Marisol Rodríguez - $1,000 – AAS – Administración de Recursos Humanos • Marbellys Moy Bolivar $1,000 – AS – BS en Administración de Negocios Para ser elegible para estas becas los estudiantes deben ser Hispanos, residentes de Osceola y estar matriculados en un programa relacionado con los negocios en el Valencia College. Pueden ser estudiantes nuevos o de reingreso,

Los estudiantes deben haber solicitado el FAFSA. Las becas pueden ser utilizadas para pagar matrícula, libros y/o cuotas. Part time students: • Marisol Rodriguez - $1,000 – AAS – Human Resources Management • Marbellys Moy Bolivar $1,000 – AS – BS in Business Administration To be eligible for these scholarships the students must be Hispanic, an Osceola resident and enrolled in a business related program at Valencia College. Awards can be for new or returning students, with financial needs. Students must have applied for FAFSA. The scholarship awards may be used for tuition, books, and or fees. For additional information about the HBC please contact Roberta Medina at 407-847-3174. The money collected for the scholarships by the HBC came from several fundraising events including a special yearly Latino day at ICE! at the Gaylord Palms Resort where 50% of the admission is donated back to the HBC for the students scholarships.
