OSU’s accounting major prepares students to become trusted accountants, advisors, auditors, financial reporting analysts and tax experts who support businesses and organizations in the global marketplace. Accounting students at OSU-Tulsa can take advantage of the university’s downtown location and flexible class options to network and discover internship and career opportunities with nearby businesses and organizations. DEGREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE IN TULSA • Internal Reporting, Control, and Auditing prepares students to work with leaders of businesses and other organizations to generate and analyze accounting information. Professionals involved in internal reporting, control, and auditing are important advisors within an organization, using business expertise, communication and interpersonal skills, and accounting knowledge to improve decision-making within that organization. • External Reporting, Control, and Auditing prepares students to help ensure that accounting information is useful for making good judgments. Accounting information provided to external stakeholders is a vital resource that allows capital market participants to make informed decisions, regulators to obtain needed information, and economic resources to be allocated efficiently. Those using this accounting information include investors, creditors, regulators (such as the IRS), and many other stakeholders.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS • At least 45 hours must be upper-division. • Minimum 2.50 GPA in all School of Accounting major requirement courses and 2.50 GPA overall. • At least: 60 hours at a four-year institution; 30 hours completed at OSU; 15 of the final 30 or 50% of the upper-division hours in the major field completed at OSU.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? OSU is one of the best values in the Big 12 and has lower tuition and fees than many Tulsaarea schools and online-only institutions. Students taking 15 credit hours (full time) will pay approximately $6,636 per semester in tuition and fees and an estimated $630 for books and supplies. (Estimates based on 2021-2022 tuition and fee charges. Books and supplies will vary based on classes taken each semester.) OSU-Tulsa offers financial aid, scholarships and tuition waivers, with several dedicated specifically to transfer students.
