SOCIOLOGY A B.A. or B.S. in Sociology at OSU-Tulsa helps graduates see the world through different perspectives to develop a global, multicultural understanding. Here, students gain the tools for contributing productively and living in a changing world. Sociology majors are competitive candidates in any career path involving creativity, critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, multicultural and global understanding, and verbal and written communication skills. Students will develop strong criticalthinking skills, ethical judgment and the ability to work on diverse teams. DEGREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE IN TULSA • Applied Sociology is especially appealing for those seeking real-world employment experience. This degree option teaches students how to apply sociological theory, resolve issues and promote change in real-world settings.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS • At least 40 hours must be upper-division. • Minimum 2.5 GPA in all SOC/ANTH courses. • At least: 60 hours at a four-year institution; 30 hours completed at OSU; 15 of the final 30 or 50% of the upper-division hours in the major field completed at OSU.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? OSU is one of the best values in the Big 12 and has lower tuition and fees than many Tulsaarea schools and online-only institutions. Students taking 15 credit hours (full time) will pay approximately $6,636 per semester in tuition and fees and an estimated $630 for books and supplies. (Estimates based on 2021-2022 tuition and fee charges. Books and supplies will vary based on classes taken each semester.) OSU-Tulsa offers financial aid, scholarships and tuition waivers, with several dedicated specifically to transfer students.
