May Fayre Returns on 30th April 2022, Banstead Village

The Banstead May Fayre is being held on the 30th April 2022, after an absence of 2 years. Watch as Miss Sonia Patel (aged 7) will be crowned as May Queen! There will be commercial and May Fayre stalls in the Orchard of All Saints Church, Banstead, together with a fun ‘Kidzone’ in the Institute Building, which will open from 9am and close at 4pm. With fun for the whole family, you can enjoy lunch or a snack at one of the food vendor stands and the children can have a go on the fairground rides as well.

crowning, the displays will start and will run until about 4pm and will include maypole dancing and country dancing. The whole event will have a WW1, WW2, and poppy theme to it, including all of the music. The organisers ask that everyone attending tries to wear the colour red, or a poppy, or any medals that they or their relatives have been awarded in the past. Period costume would also be fun as well, and very eye-catching!

The Parade already has around 55 groups taking part, including three marching bands, and historic vehicles. The parade will start at 11.30am and end at All Saints Church, at about 12 noon.

By far the biggest attractions will be the Royal British Legion Jump for Heroes Team that will parachute into the Fayre , landing in the Cricket Ground. They will also have the 4th Battalion, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment in the parade.

The Mayor will attend to give a speech and the May Queen will then be crowned. Following the
