INDUSTRY NEWS TOWING & RECOVERY
Hurst Towing was leveled by a F3 Tornado last month, but they stand strong on the Rock! Lynn worked for his father while in high school and drove a tow truck. However, it was the farthest thing from his mind going into towing as a career. Lynn Hurst recalled the day his father told him they were going to look at a tow truck for sale. Lynn said he would never buy a tow truck but went along just to keep the peace. That truck was the start of Hurst Towing on January 16, 1987, but it was only a spark. In early 2000 my Debbie told me, “I am going to start going to church.” Through her decision, I made up my mind I was going to go too - no matter what! Because of all this, I got saved, and so did my wife, my son, and my daughter.” Lynn and his wife, Debbie, began doing missionary work in Nicaragua and questioned if that was where he belonged serving others. With Debbie being Lynn’s rock, she kept assuring him of who he was in God, and that God’s service could be done daily through his business in his own community. This was the turning point in his business, his growth, and his ability to relate and lead his employees, known to him as family! The focus became less on the business, and more on
what he could do with it to serve others going forward. “The tornado took our building, but our faith, growth, and employees’ needs are all standing on the Rock!”
