hat makes a city great? What is so special about big cities? What make them so unique? Is it their stories? Their architecture? Their populations? Their secrets? Or, maybe, something else. These are thoughts I have while wandering around London for the last few years. The longer I live here, the deeper I investigate its history, more I get fascinated. The different atmosphere over his place causes a special effect on people. Its tiny bricky streets. Its wet passages. Its bridges. The view of Thames River, its colour and smell. The gloomy and cold winter nights and adorable Autumn sun light turning London from grey to a deep reddish inspiring city. Its deep contrasts also knock me out. Wealth and appaling misery coexisting side by side, sometimes, can be bigger than in a Third World country. The incredibly rich array of culture is also breath taking. Styles, music, trend, religion, attitude, everything together running as a chaotic play on a crazy theatre. Well, London can be perpetually explored through its different layers. And one way of doing it is photographing these subtle features. This is what this book is about. As its previous volume, it is an attempt of registering London`s character through its inhabitants and its geography.
