Lyrics By Tim Rice Music By Andrew Lloyd Webber

Joseph is one of the most enduring musical comedies of all time and reimagines the rags-to-riches biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colours. The performance takes place in an airport (present day); Canaan, and Egypt (way, way back many centuries ago, not long after the Bible began)

The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited. JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Really Useful Group. www.concordtheatricals.com

letter from the director On March 8, 2020 I stopped by Sam’s Club on the way to my auditions for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to pick up paper products (as I had seemingly run out of EVERYTHING). The sight of so many people stocking up due to a virus named COVID-19 made me nervous. Rumblings had begun across the nation that restaurants, schools, and businesses would have to close to contain the emerging pandemic. I jokingly said to the checkout associate that I had “picked the wrong week” to run out of Kleenex, paper towels, and toilet paper. Thankfully I was able to not only stock up on supplies (not hoarding mind you) but was also able to hold my 3rd round of auditions on that Sunday evening. Less than a week later I was sitting in the same place you are now, watching Chanticleer’s production of The Music Man and getting excited for the possibilities of my show coming up a few months later. Less than 24 hours after I left PACE the world shut down, and with it, my production. Fast forward 21 months (!!!) to tonight. What a ride it has been. Some people onstage have been with me from the beginning, some are only 9 weeks in. Each person has traveled a different path to reach this stage tonight. As have you. We, as a creative ensemble, thank you for joining us. We are so ready to take you on our journey. For the next “hour or two” I invite you to sit back and enjoy your stay. You see, you have nowhere to go. That holiday flight you were planning to take? Grounded due to icing issues. You are trapped, for the foreseeable future, in the PACE international airport. You’re stuck here with a variety of individuals whose flights are also grounded. So why not make the best of it? Who knows? Maybe those flight attendants will help fill the time by telling you a story. A story of a boy, whose dream came true. The story of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. - Daena Schweiger | Director
