PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Hill will be located in the heart of Beacon Hill in Boston, Massachusetts. Pulling in Boston history with inspiration from the gold dome of the State House. The design intent is to experiment with scale and proportion in interior architecture, while keeping focus on sustainability. The Hill will incorporate surrounding demographics that are found in Beacon Hill. The sleek line work mixed with organic shapes and textures creates a sophisticated space. Integrating layered lighting and bold architecture with ambition to charm guests looking for an unforgettable stay.
SUSTAINABILITY OBJECTIVES is the key focus in our design intent. In hopes to design a green building, materials will be local and energy use will be monitored and function as necessary. Research on sustainable design led to objectives to be met throughout the design process.
REDUCE CONSUMPTION OF NON-REUSABLE ENERGY Increased natural daylight, encourage use of public transportation or bike rental, chefs to increase stove-top efficiency, low-energy lighting sources, energy-saving room keys,

low flow faucets and shower heads, as well as dual flush toilets, collection of rainwater to be reused, microhydro turbines
OPTIMIZE SITE SURROUNDINGS location to be within walking distance of grocery, shops, entertainment and public transportation
MINIMIZE PLASTIC USAGE glass dinnerware in rooms and breakfast area, water fountains located in lobby and vending, refillable shampoo and conditioner
SUPPORT OF LOCAL BUSINESSES breakfast features local farmers and family owned businesses, local artists’ work displayed
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALITY FSC certified wood, no -VOC finishes, recycled solution carpet, glueless finishes
