Thank you for reading the Spring Edition of the Community Fitness Center Newsletter! Hope everyone has had a great 2024 so far.
NEWS AND UPDATES
Based off your feedback, staff purchased the Octane Seated Elliptical and will be in the fitness center permanently.
Congratulations to Sharon Fahey! Sharon was the lucky winner of the Fitbit Luxe fitness tracker for completing the annual member survey.
Members were able to fill out a bracket and compete against other members for the March Madness college basketball tournament that began on March 21st.
A new group exercise class has been added to the basic membership offering! The class is currently held on Wednesday nights from 5:30pm-6:15pm over at the Birchwood Recreation Center.
Beginning Monday April 1st, the fitness center will be going to spring hours. On Sunday’s, the fitness center will close at 3:00pm.
Be on the lookout for a summer challenge!
Reminder to members: Every member should wipe down equipment before and after each use.

PROMOTIONS
May Initiation Fee: The $25 initiation fee is waived for new members who sign up in May.
Summer Student Pass: Available to purchase May 1-June 30. $30 for a 3-month membership. For ages 14-24 with a valid student ID.

Referral Program: This is an ongoing promotion. Refer a friend to sign up for a membership at the Community Fitness Center and both of you receive a one-month extension!

Never worked with a personal trainer before? Get a jump start to achieving your fitness goals with this training package. Trainers will provide you with actionable steps you can take immediately to get you progressing in the right direction to reach your goals.
SPINACH SALAD WITH QUINOA, CHICKEN & FRESH BERRIES
Total Time: 10 minutes • Yield: 2 servings
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups fresh baby spinach or mixed greens
1 cup cooked quinoa
2/3⅔cup chopped cooked chicken breast
½ cup fresh blueberries or sliced fresh strawberries
½ ounce crumbled feta cheese (2 Tbsp.)
2 tablespoons sliced almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon kosher salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place spinach, quinoa, and chicken in 2 (1-quart) airtight containers. Top each salad with berries, cheese and almonds. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
2. Just before serving, whisk together oil, vinegar, mustard, honey, and salt in a small bowl. Divide dressing evenly between the salads and toss to coat; serve immediately.

Hamilton Park 2.25-mile course
Light up the night on this 2.25-mile course around Hamilton Park. This is a fun, non-competitive event that starts at sundown. Wear light up running gear or any glow item you can find. Participants will receive a t-shirt with their entrance fee.
Pre-event activities include games, a photo op, glow body paint and music.
Pre-registration Fee: $30.00 by August 2
