VIRTUAL THEATRE CLASSES
Nothing can replace LIVE theatre. But with virtual theatre we have an opportunity to literally focus on elevating our body language facial expressions, gestures, body positions, posture, etc. Details we don't usually have a lot of time to work on will be focused on as we play with these fun new skits, written specifically for on-line rehearsals and performances. Students will receive their Virtual theatre scripts by e-mail and we will rehearse using ZOOM video conferencing. The last day of camp, students will be allowed to record the final performance. To use ZOOM, each student must have access to a computer which has speakers, a microphone and a video camera. Students will be asked to find simple costumes and props for themselves. ATTACK OF THE ZUMITRONS by Steve Flowers As a fleet of spaceships is returning home from a mission, they are ambushed by a horde of angry Zumitron aliens. The pilots are rendered defenseless against Zumite, the Supreme Commander of the Zumitrons, forcing those back on the command ship to find a way to defeat aliens and free the captured pilots. (Running time - Approx 20 min). THE MAGIC OF ZOOM by Wade Bradford It's Hogwarts meets Zoom! The students of Dogwarts have their first day in Professor Snope’s virtual classroom. How are they supposed to practice the magical arts of wizardry on a computer? What’s in Plotter’s closet? And what about this year’s prom?. (Running time - Approx 15 min). HOME SCHOOLED by Jason Pizzarello When the town of Smorgasbord is forced to close the public school system and rely on a motley crew of parents to homeschool all the children, the parents are thrown for a loop. Realizing that none of them are remotely qualified to teach a full course load, the parents decide to divide and conquer the subjects. Current events make this show relatable for parents. (Running time - Approx 30 min). Age: 10-16 years Location: Virtual Instructor: TBD Min/Max: 7/10 Day Date

THE SCIENCE OF CARNIVAL GAMES, FUN HOUSE MIRRORS & THE CONCESSION STAND
STEP RIGHT UP….STEP RIGHT UP….WIN A “BIG PRIZE”, a carnival barker’s famous words! Carnival games have a rich history and are played not only at traveling carnivals, but also charity fundraisers, amusement arcades, and state fairs. Is there a science to winning these games OR is it all luck? Which games should we play for the best chance at winning? Are these games rigged to scam you? How can we use our communications skills to find out? We will turn into investigators and build confidence as we pull back the curtain on the amusement industry. Popular games explored: Balloon Darts, Ring a Bottle, Duck Pond, and Fool the Guesser. Next, we will learn why we look so wacky in Fun House mirrors and the science behind Pop Rocks, Root Beer, Popcorn, and getting rid of a BRAIN FREEZE. If you have M&M’s candy, get them ready….we will do the coolest experiment! This is fun for the whole family to enjoy together.
