Wo und was hast Du während der Quarantäne gemacht?
Where and what have you been doing during quarantine?
Wir waren in unserem Haus in LA und haben eine dringend benötigte Auszeit genossen. Es war für alle ein hartes Jahr und wir sind davon nicht ausgenommen, also war es wirklich schön, zu Hause am Strand zu sein. Wir machen viele Spaziergänge bei Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang, schauen Filme, spielen viele Brettspiele, machen Puzzles und kochen Abendessen und genießen einfach ein langsameres Leben.
We have been at our home in LA enjoying some much needed down time. It’s been a rough year for everyone and we are not exempt from that so it’s actually been really nice to be home by the beach. We take a lot of sunrise and sunsets walks, watch movies, play a lot of board games, do puzzles and cook dinners and just enjoy a slower pace of life.
Was hat Dir an der Quarantäne am meisten Spaß gemacht?
As much as I love our show FBI: Most Wanted, it was my first time living in NY which is a completely opposite environment from Southern California and we shot a lot outside and during the winter months it got brutal! Plus the long shoot days, it’s just been a nice break to be at home, spend time with friends and family, and rest.
So sehr ich auch unsere Serie FBI: Most Wanted liebe, war es das erste Mal, dass ich in NY gelebt habe, was eine komplett entgegengesetzte Umgebung zu Südkalifornien ist und wir haben viel draußen gedreht und in den Wintermonaten wurde es brutal! Neben den langen Drehtagen war es einfach eine schöne Abwechslung, zu Hause zu sein, Zeit mit Freunden und Familie zu verbringen und sich auszuruhen.
Was war das Schwierigste an der Quarantäne? Ich dachte, das Schwierigste wäre, nicht reisen zu können. Ich liebe es, an neue Orte zu reisen, aber als das alles passierte und die Show eingestellt wurde und wir zurück nach Kalifornien flogen, wurde mir klar, wie sehr ich eine Auszeit brauchte. Stillsitzen zu müssen ist normalerweise eine meiner Lieblingsbeschäftigungen, aber ich habe diese Zeit wirklich geliebt.

Ganz im Gegenteil! Von den Räumlichkeiten bis hin zum Wetter war es am Anfang definitiv eine harte Umstellung. Das Tempo ist viel schneller, es ist viel lauter. Ich mag meine Zeit für mich allein und die Ruhe, also hat meine Frau für die zweite Saison einen Ort für uns in einer anderen Gegend gefunden, die viel friedlicher und ruhiger ist, und ich weiß jetzt schon, dass die nächste Saison noch besser sein wird als die erste! Außerdem planen wir, mit dem Auto rauszufahren, so dass wir dieses Mal ein Auto dabei haben, was uns mehr Freiheit gibt.
What have you enjoyed the most about quarantine?
What’s been the hardest part about quarantine? I thought the hard part would be not being able to travel. I love to get away to new destinations but when this all hit and the show got shut down and we flew back to CA, I realized how much I needed some down time. Being forced to stay still is usually a pet peeve of mine but I actually have really loved this time.
Your new show shoots in NYC, how is life different out there compared to Los Angeles? Completely opposite! From the space to the weather it was definitely a tough adjustment at first. It’s much faster paced, a lot more noise. I like my alone time and peace and quiet so for season 2 my wife found a place for us in a different area that is way more peaceful and calm and I already know this next season will be even better then the first season! Also, we plan on driving out so we have a car there this go around which will allow us more freedom.
»…but when this all hit and the show got shut down and we flew back to CA, I realized how much I needed some down time.« How are you enjoying being married, what’s something that has surprised you about marriage? I absolutely love being married. I mean I get to hang out with my best friend for the rest of my life! It’s awesome. I think one of the most surprising things is how fulfilling it’s been. I always knew I wanted to be married one day but I didn’t realize how much it would bring the best out in me.

She’s watched a lot on her own but yes she always asks me to watch with her and give her the behind the scenes scoop which is fun for me to go back to things I don’t normally think about and revisit some really special times in my life. I really do enjoy when we do this!

Twilight was such a huge phenomenon 10 years ago, if you could go back and tell yourself one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

nes Großvaters zu erkunden. Wir konnten seine Urgroßväter entdecken und das Schiff, mit dem er nach Amerika fuhr, alles in diesem riesigen Buch in Bremen geschrieben. Es hat ihm Tränen in die Augen getrieben. Was für eine Erinnerung. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt für mich war, dass ich die Chance hatte, auf dem Auto-Bond FLOOR IT zu fahren. Ich liebe es, schnell zu fahren, und das war ein irrer Nervenkitzel, so schnell zu fahren, wie ich konnte! Ein weiterer Pluspunkt war das Essen in München und die bayerische Kultur! Möchte jemand Oktoberfest feiern?!
Twilight war vor 10 Jahren so ein riesiges Phänomen. Wenn du zurück gehen und dir selbst einen Ratschlag für dein jüngeres Ich geben könntest, wie würde der lauten? Oh Mann. Ich war jung und hätte es vielleicht zu schätzen wissen und den ganzen Prozess mehr genießen können. Ich war so dankbar und habe es nie als selbstverständlich angesehen, aber ich war Anfang 20. Ich wünschte, ich hätte all die coolen Erinnerungen in Tagebuchform aufgeschrieben und viel mehr Fotos gemacht. Rückblickend denke ich nicht, dass ich viel ändern würde, weil ich liebe, wohin es mich geführt hat. Ich bin für immer dankbar für diese verrückte, lustige Achterbahnfahrt namens Twilight-Saga.
Wo siehst du Dich in 10 Jahren?
Hoffentlich haben meine Frau und ich eine eigene Familie, ein paar Hunde, eine Menge Land, auf dem wir herumlaufen und Spaß haben können, und ich kann immer noch schauspielern und das tun, was ich liebe.
Du hast ein ziemlich außergewöhnliches Leben gelebt und so viele coole und erstaunliche Dinge auf der ganzen Welt getan, was steht noch auf deiner Liste von Abenteuern, die du noch nicht gemacht hast?
Oh man. I was young and maybe could have appreciated it and enjoyed the whole process more. I was so grateful and never took it for granted but I was in my early 20s so I wish I knew to write down in journal format all the cool memories as well as take way more photos. Looking back I don’t think I’d change much because I love where it’s led me. Forever grateful for that crazy fun roller coaster called the Twilight Saga.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully my wife and I will have a family of our own, some dogs, a lot of land to run around and have fun on and still get to be acting and doing what I love.
You’ve lived quite an extraordinary life and done so many cool and amazing things around the world, what’s still on your list of adventures you havn’t pursued yet? I really really want to get my pilots license as well as squirrel suit skydive!!!!
What tv/film have you enjoyed watching past few months? My wife and I just started watching the office (American) for the first time and we’re loving it! I’ve always binged the new twilight zone, I thought Jordan peele did an amazing job. And I’ve also been loving See No Evil which is a show where they solve missing persons cases and crimes based solely on surveillance video. Und ich habe auch See No Evil geliebt, eine Serie, in der sie Fälle von vermissten Personen und Verbrechen lösen, die nur auf Überwachungsvideos basieren. Konzentriere ich mich auf den nächsten wichtigen Schritt oder bin ich ständig im organisationslosen Pool von unternehmerischen Gedanken gefangen? Klarheit und Priorisierung sind der Schlüssel, um wirkliche Fortschritte zu erzielen. Sie sind kein behäbiger Schwertransporter, der eine halbe Ewigkeit für die Implementierung von sinnvollen Maßnahmen benötigt, sondern ein wendiger Sportwagen mit zwei Sitzen. Sie sind aktuell nicht in der Situation, um riesige Mengen von Anfragen abarbeiten zu können. Only very few companies achieve their goals with regard to digitalisation. In an interview, management consultant Andreas Eichenauer explains how managers can drive change forward in a targeted and successful manner. If one takes a look at the Central European status quo of the economy, there are serious wounds. The reasons for this are political, social and individual-entrepreneurial in nature, whereby only the latter aspect can really be influenced. What does the individual self-employed person do for his or her further entrepreneurial development with a view to the ever-rapid digitalisation? What are entrepreneurs, managers and company leaders doing for their staff to make them aware of the benefits of digitalisation? How can companies of all shapes and sizes turn the buzzword digitalisation into a mindset that benefits all concerned? The answer is simple: focus on practicality and results orientation!

Am I doing the right things or merely doing things right? Am I focusing on the next important step or am I constantly caught in the organisationless pool of entrepreneurial thoughts? Clarity and prioritisation are the keys to making real progress. You are not a ponderous heavy transporter that takes half an eternity to implement meaningful measures, but a nimble sports car with two seats. They are not currently in a position to process huge numbers of requests. But they are very capable of making quick decisions and validating the results of these. Does it make sense and bring results or is it crap and just costs money, time and nerves? Be harder on yourself and pay attention to results. If it doesn‘t work, it‘s nonsense and a waste.

Vertreter des Mittelstandes unterliegen häufig einem völlig anderen Problem: Saubere Prozesse, transparentes Reporting und KPI-basierte Entscheidungen sind leider eher die Ausnahme als die Regel. Dieser Mangel an Rationalität und die dadurch erhöhte Abhängigkeit von Einzelpersonen innerhalb des Unternehmens führen dazu, dass Organisationen ihre Bedeutung im wörtlichen Sinne verlieren. Als Mittelständler bewegt man sich in einer existenziell weniger bedrohlichen Situation, als dies bei einem Selbstständigen der Fall ist, wobei die herrschenden Risiken im Zweifelsfall einen deutlichen höheren Wirkungsgrad haben. Aus diesem Grund befinden wir uns in dieser Phase in einem Hybrid zwischen gesundem Wachstum und der Absicherung aller unternehmensspezifischen Grundbedürfnisse. Gleichzeitig besteht ein Interesse an fortwährendem Wachstum, das in dieser Phase, um dem Anspruch der Risikoaversion gerecht zu werden, lediglich über die Optimierung des bestehenden Geschäfts passieren kann. Um eine Optimierung wirklich vollziehen zu können, bedarf es einer klaren Linie, deren Erfolge absehbar sind. Sie sollen keine Unternehmensakrobatik vollziehen, sondern lediglich kampferprobte Strategien in Anwendung bringen, um Ihr Bestandsgeschäft profitabler zu gestalten. Wachstum auf diesem Level ist mehr als eine Entscheidung, denn Ihre Unternehmensprozes-

Representatives of SMEs are often subject to a completely different problem: clean processes, transparent reporting and KPI-based decisions are unfortunately the exception rather than the rule. This lack of rationality and the resulting increased dependence on individuals within the company lead to organisations losing their significance in the literal sense. As a medium-sized company, one moves in a situation that is less threatening to one‘s existence than is the case with a self-employed person, whereby the prevailing risks have a significantly higher degree of effectiveness in case of doubt. For this reason, we find ourselves in this phase in a hybrid between healthy growth and the safeguarding of all company-specific basic needs. At the same time, there is an interest in continued growth, which in this phase, in order to meet the demand of risk aversion, can only happen through optimisation of the existing business. In order to really be able to optimise, a clear line of action is needed, the successes of which are foreseeable. You should not perform any corporate acrobatics, but simply apply battle-tested strategies to make your existing business more profitable. Growth at this level is more than just a decision, because your business processes must have the necessary resilience to prevent the initial growth from turning into an unwanted test of endurance of a special kind.

For the first time since the launch of Bentayga in 2015, an S version is now available – reflecting feedback from the huge number of customers that enjoy the dynamic performance of their Bentayga on-road. Building on Bentley’s established ‘S’ brand, the new enhanced sports Bentayga provides an even more engaging drive, with Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control fitted as standard and an enhanced Sports chassis mode. A 15 per cent increase in damping stiffens the chassis and provides a platform for a more dynamic SPORT mode ESC tune.
