Peninsula Symphony June 25th Concert and 50th Anniversary of the Edith Knox Young Artists Performance Competition The Peninsula Symphony presented its final concert of the 2022-2023 season on June 25th at Redondo Union High School (RUHS) Auditorium. Maestro David Cubek led the orchestra in a program of dances from Europe and Latin America. The featured soloist was USC graduate student Cameron Akioka who played Beethoven’s 4th piano concerto. Akioka won the symphony’s 50th Edith Knox Young Artists Performance Competition. All participants perform full concertos in a preliminary round, and five are selected for the final round. The winner performs as soloist with the Peninsula Symphony and presents a solo recital sponsored by Classical Crossroads.
