Feelings are like rainbows

Rainbows are beautiful, but they wouldn’t exist without rain! Our ‘rainy’ feelings are just as important as our ‘sunny’ ones...

In assembly last week, Miss Donna and Miss Claire shared the Rainbow poem with P1-P3 and talked about the different feelings that you may have. If you would like to reflect on the assembly with your child, please click on the link here: Rainbow Assembly.

LEARNING CHALLENGE: We would like you to create a rainbow in your own special way. What will you use? Maybe paints, crayons, chalk, pens or possibly you have another idea of what you could use. What colours represent your feelings today? Ask your grown up to take a photo and email them to us: donnabonham@panagaschool.net clairerichmond@panagaschool.net Remember, there are no ‘good’ nor ‘bad’ colours!

Special Edition Risha and Kiara are full steam ahead at keeping the wolf at bay Risha and Kiara (P2A) completed their STEAM activity based on the story, The 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf, assigned by Miss Claire. The task was to build a foolproof pig house to keep them safe from the intruding wolf and which doesn't get blown to pieces when the wolf blows on it. They made best use of the materials available at home (zero waste) and created this house using a cardboard box, spare gift wrap papers, dried tree sticks, leaves, tissue rolls, glue, toy dolls and LEGO etc. They also set up various traps for the wolf. They really gave a lot of thought on the traps and derived inspiration from the story itself and some other cartoon shows. They also made sure the house is strong enough, so they used mum’s hair dryer to blow hot air on it to double check the strength of their creation. They were happy with their finished product which turned out to be environmentally friendly as well. They were proud to show it to Miss Claire. Risha and Kiara demonstrated enthusiasm, persistence, presence of mind, logical thinking and organisational skills. They learnt how to be creative by keeping the environment in mind. - Dipannita

Marvellous measuring In some of our recorded Maths lessons, we have been talking about comparing length and height. We have been learning to use words like 'longer’, ‘shorter’, ‘taller’ and ‘the same'. We found things around the house and compared their height to ourselves. We looked for things that were shorter than us, taller than us and about the same size. We also ordered objects of different lengths from the shortest to the longest.
