This Panaga School Biweekly edition reflects learning adaptations that have started to evolve in line with Phase 2 of school reopening, as a result of progress in Brunei’s National COVID-19 Recovery Plan. This week, it has been an absolute pleasure to welcome back students from our Middle and Early Years, as they have been able to return to face to face learning.

Remote learning resumes for all in P1 to P7, unvaccinated students in M1 and those who are unable to return due to personal reasons. Online learning continues to provide relevant, engaging learning experiences for our students, with all important social connections. We thank our committed teachers for their continued efforts to produce such high quality learning, despite the significant challenges that online learning presents. In addition to The Ministry of Education progressing with schools’ reopening, The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has also progressed in its efforts to restart sporting events. This has resulted in many of our students now able to access much loved sports across the community. We will continue to monitor and respond to progress in the National COVID19 Recovery Plan Framework, currently at an early endemic stage, due for review on 14th February. As soon as there are opportunities presented to have more students return to face to face learning, parents will be informed.

Enjoy taking a look at the fabulous submissions of learning taking place in our community herein. Thank you to those who have contributed. We can’t underestimate the importance of the social connections generated through this remote way to engage our community at this time. Wishing everybody a safe and wonderful weekend.

P3G artists are as clever as a skulk of foxes!

P3G followed instructions to draw a fox in our live lesson. We are very proud of our results. - Miss Gina

Anyone can code and we love it! To celebrate the return of Rampayoh DE, P1-P3 children took part in “Hour of Code” this week.

With over 100 million students across the world participating, including children in Teraja and Melilas, “Hour of Code” is an introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. Click here for more information on “Hour of Code”. As can be witnessed (RIGHT), Bauke (P3L) couldn’t wait to share his enthusiasm for DE once more and coding. Awesome! - Mr Damian

Special Edition Dear Melilas and our entire community, I am very pleased to be writing our first Melilas bulletin for the New Year 2022, on-site, from school! This week has been hugely exciting as Melilas have spearheaded a return to learning on-site. Simultaneously, we have also maintained high-quality, virtual learning, from our successful Term 1 model, so that there is equity for all Melilas students, whether they be on-site or learning remotely. Our teachers and LSAs have juggled this expertly. Thanks to all of our students, teaching staff, LSAs and parents, who have worked as a community to facilitate this re-opening. Also, we give full credit to our returning Melilas learners, who have been very good at abiding by the fairly rigorous COVID-19 SOPs, allowing us to keep safe at school. We look forward to taking learning forward in Melilas this term for both virtual and on-site students. Have a wonderful weekend, Rob Unsworth, Deputy Principal for Middle Years
