Our vegetable garden by school of meliki

Page 1

First, we had to pick the ideal place for our vegetable garden. We all decided that place was just outside our school yard.

We took our tools and started work. We first had to weed out the area and get rid off all the litter. We sometimes used our hands to remove all that wild vegetation.

Weather was on our side, so some of us took

Our vegetable garden begins to take shape. We are doing a great job. Come on guys, don’t stop! Lets dig harder to prepare the soil for our baby plants and seeds.

Just look at us! We are ready for the next step. We have our tools and our baby vegetables and seeds in our hands. We are about to plant them in our freshly dug garden. We will plant lettuce, red lettuce,

iceberg

lettuce,

spinach, garlic and radish.

Theopisti is preparing the soil. She is digging a little hole for some lettuce. At the same time she’s giving instructions to the rest of the team.

Just watch how gently the little hands of our young farmers plant this baby red lettuce!

This another member of our team. She has already planted a lettuce and now a second one is being planted next to the first one, with the help of our little shovels.

These are Smaragda, Theopisti and Lamprini planting some more lettuce, iceberg lettuce. Between them they are planting some garlic because it acts as a natural insect repellent. They are so anxious to see all the plants in their place.
