Quello che ci è successo non passa con la fretta di ricominciare. Le tracce del lockdown sono incise, con più forza per alcuni, con meno violenza per altri, ma ci sono. Sappiamo cosa ci ha tolto, sappiamo cosa l’i-

Il Monte Baldo Lo chiamano il “giardino botanico d’Europa” per la sua flora varia e ricchissima che parte dalla fascia mediterranea dell’olivo e poi sale fino ai boschi di castagno, per arrivare ai querceti e al pino silvestre e compiersi tra le rocce delle vette. Il monte Baldo sorge alle estremità delle Prealpi venete. È un massiccio isolato di altezza massima di 2218 metri compreso tra le province di Trento e Verona. La sua forma di rettangolo si allunga dal veronese al Trentino per quasi 40 km, costeggiando il lago di Garda. Il nome Baldo deriva probabilmente dal longobardo Wald, ovvero selva, ed è citato per la prima volta nel 1163 in una carta topografica tedesca. Sulle pendici del monte, nel territorio di Ferrara di Monte Baldo, scavato nella roccia, vi è il Santuario della Madonna della Corona, meta di numerosi pellegrinaggi durante tutto l’anno. Il Baldo ha sviluppato un turismo legato all’escursionismo per la fitta rete di sentieri arricchita, parallelamente, anche dalla presenza della funivia che collega Malcesine al monte e permette di godere del panorama del lago senza la fatica della camminata. Merita una visita anche l’Orto Botanico del Baldo che ne ha inventariato il lussureggiante ecosistema. Sono circa una ventina le specie floreali tipiche o esclusive del monte Baldo, che perciò portano l’appellativo di “baldensis”, in quanto proprio qui sono state riconosciute per la prima volta: prova ulteriore dell’importanza naturalistica di questa zona.

Una notte tra i prodigi: la festa del fuoco di Giazza Il paese di Giazza, nel cuore della Lessinia orientale, è l’unico che trattiene l’eredità dell’antica lingua cimbra. Alcuni degli abitanti più anziani si scambiano ancora frasi nello storico idioma. A tutelare la memoria culturale si impegna da anni l’associazione Cimbri della Lessinia, costituita nel 1974 con il nome Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense. Il 23 giugno di ogni anno, gli abitanti del piccolo paese, poco più di 90 anime in totale, organizzano la Waur Ljet-

zan, la Festa del Fuoco. Una notte magica in cui convergono i riti indoeuropei e celtici che esaltano il potere del fuoco e della luce, un vero e proprio giorno sacro nelle tradizioni pagane precristiane. Attorno ai fuochi si canta e si danza; è una notte di prodigi per Giazza che attraverso rievocazioni, musiche e spettacoli di fuoco rinnova i riti ancestrali dei cimbri con l’accensione dei 13 bracieri, simbolo della loro unità.

Juni den Sommersonnenwende und man wird St. Johannes feiert. Eine magische Nacht in der indoeuropäische und keltische Ritualen zusammenkommen, die der Macht der Feuer und der Licht – die in der Vergangenheit heilig waren – verherrlichen. Diese Elemente sehr wichtig für die vorchristliche und heidnischen Traditionen waren. Ums Lagerfeuer tanzt und singt man: das ist eine Nacht von Wundern, die durch Lieder und Feuervorstellungen die alten Ritualen der Kimbern mit 13 Feuerschalen – die Symbole ihre Einheit sind – erneuert.

Il monumento più antico è la fontana di Madonna Verona dietro la quale lo sguardo si perde tra lo stile tardo rinascimentale di Palazzo Maffei e le suggestioni affrescate delle Case Mazzanti che riassumono lo spirito della Verona del XVI chiamata, non a caso, proprio urbs picta. Erbe Square is located on the ancient Roman Horo, the oldest monument is the fountain of Our Lady Verona. Behind it, you can lose your gaze in the late Renaissance style of the Maffei Palace and the rampant evictions of the Mazzanti Houses, which sum up the spirit of the Virgin of XVI called, with no coincidence, urbs picta. In the background, the Maffei Palace, whose original late-medieval nucleus lies in the Capitolium area, built when Verona became a Roman City Hall. It all speaks of baroque in the splendor of a three-story architecture. Appena ragazzina, neanche immaginava di venire eternata nell’eroina di tutti, dopo la prima riscrittura della sua storia, firmata dal vicentino Luigi Da Porto nella novella Istoria nuovamente ritrovata di due nobili amanti con la loro pietosa morte. Le vicende delle famiglie rivali - i ghibellini Montecchi (o Monticoli) e i guelfi Capuleti (o Cappelletti) - già nominate da Dante nel Purgatorio VI 106-108, sono ripercorse anche da numerose versioni cinquecentesche. L’eredità di Da Porto riesce però a giungere all’approdo insperato: William

Shakespeare tra il 1594-1596 adattò il poema nella tragedia teatrale Romeo and Juliet e ne determinò la fortuna perenne. Si accede alla casa attraversando un cortile. I muri dell’androne sono stati per decenni piccole geografie del sentimento, con gomme appiccicate, cerotti e dichiarazioni d’amore vergate su biglietti da visita, fazzoletti in tutte le lingue del mondo. Dal 28 ottobre 2019, l’amministrazione comunale ha ripulito questi graffiti spesso più simili a gesti di degrado che a confidenze amorose. Chissà se a fermare gli innamorati ora basterà lo scrittoio informatico posto all’ingresso della Casa. Con l'occasione è stato lanciato l’hashtag #EnjoyRespectVerona.
