YOUR PAPER PROJECT This month our designer for the day Victoria Norris sent us three fantastic cards that you can try for yourself. Victoria is very excited to see her design in print! Go online and visit papercraftermagazine.co.uk to get the instructions for Victoria's other delightful makes. ➊ Cut a pink card blank to a 11.5cm square. Cover the front with an 11cm square of green floral paper. ➋ Hand cut a 9cm scallopedged circle from the middle of the blank. ➌ Cover the inside of the blank with an 11cm square of blue polka dot paper. Cut out the cloud shape and stick to the back of the card, checking its position through the aperture.

Add the bunny using foam pads. Cut a quarter of the scallop circle and position to the left. ➍ Cut out the pink scallop border, 'Sweet springtime' sentiment and chevrons. Affix to the card as shown and knot a length of pink twine around the base. Add two eggs to the bottom right using foam pads. ➎ Take the offcut of pink card from the blank at the beginning and cut

along the score line so it measures 5.5cm x 11cm. Score at 2.75cm and fold in half, then score and valley fold at 0.5cm and 5cm. ➏ Position half a scallop circle, large bird and two chicks at the bottom of the card as shown and add to the first part of the mountain fold. Add glue along the two 0.5cm scored areas and stick to the inside to create a 3D effect.

ffective looks don't have to be complicated, in fact sometimes it's best using simple techniques to make a good impression. Here, Colette Smith shows you how to do just that with this blooming fab duo. Simply cut and layer simple shapes to complement your kit elements for show-stopping flower power salutations.

ROUGHLY CU ING OUT THE CIRCLES GIVES A MORE QUIRKY, NATURAL LK TO THE FLOWERS

FOR YOU ➊ Make the flower by hand cutting three basic leaf shapes from green patterned paper and three circles in different sizes; one from green floral paper and two from the pink blank. Layer each circle and attach the leaves. ➋ Trim the top and bottom of the floral circle blank so it measures 14.5cm in height. Stick the ‘For You’ sentiment to the flower and adhere to the lower right corner. Embellish with gems.

19 PA P E R C R A F T E R

HAPPY SPRING ➊ Trim the top section off the floral/peach card to make a 11cm square top fold blank. Mount the sentiment onto a piece of peach card and fix to the upper left of the blank. ➋ Cover a wooden flower with white card and trim. Matt a peach flower onto green patterned paper and stick to the centre of the flower. Attach the flower and three leaf shapes cut from peach card to the lower right corner of the blank. Finish by embellishing with gems.

aking great greetings doesn't have to be complicated, in fact when you've got this charming card making kit, Rosie Simon's fabulous motifs speak for themselves. Simply follow Colette Smith’s easy step-by-steps and you can whip up a set of cute, colourful spring-themed salutations that anyone would be delighted to receive.

E AST ER WISHES ette By Coilth Sm

➊ Trim the pink blank to a 11cm square. With the fold at the top, attach an 8cm square of patterned paper centrally in line with the fold. Stick a length of scallop border from the lower right corner of the paper panel to the left edge of the blank. ➋ Cut out the large yellow chick, the half hatched egg and clover

leaves. Assemble the pieces so that the chick is sitting in the egg with the large clover behind and the two small clovers in the front. Attach this to the bottom left of the blank. ➌ Trim the ‘Easter wishes’ panel from the patterned squares paper. Matt this onto pink card to give a 2mm border and snip it to leave the right hand edge without one. Adhere to the top right edge of the card and add a few gems. 22

C UTE EASTER EGG ➊ Slice off the last two panels on a kraft album to make a folded blank with a scallop edge. Cover the inside of the blank with white card. Use zigzag tissue paper to cover a 6cm x 7cm section of white card and secure to the top of the blank, leaving a 0.3cm border. Wrap and tie pink raffia around the blank, covering the lower edge of the zigzag panel. ➋ Cut out the floral egg, mount onto pink card and stick above the raffia. Close the blank and fix gems to the centre of each scallop hole so the gems will be on the inside of the blank. Embellish the egg with a pink raffia bow and gems.

lizabeth Moad's cute creations were made with just one thing in mind – fun! Pour yourself a nice brew and enjoy crafting spiral roses, stepper cards and an aperture design, then pop your finished greetings in your card drawer for that next special occasion.

BEAUT IFUL ST E PPE R ➊ Open out a patterned blank and cut a central 13cm slot 5cm in from one long edge. Score the smaller area above the slot at 5cm and 7cm from each edge. Fold into a concertina to make a stepper card. ➋ Cut a basket shape from blue card using the wooden motif as a template. Attach eggs to the reverse and a strip of floral patterned paper to the front. ➌ Tie a length of pink raffia to the handle. Glue the basket ensemble to the bottom left. Attach a chick motif to the top as shown. Fix a 'Life is beautiful' sentiment and flower to the floral section.

PAPER ROSES ➊ Trim a blue blank to 10cm x 11.5cm. Fix a slightly smaller panel of blue patterned paper to this. Using a sewing machine and pink thread, stitch a zig-gag line all the way around. ➋ Tie a bow of pink raffia around the spine. Cut a 5cm circle from blue card and attach a sentiment to this. ➌ From blue patterned paper cut one 5cm and two 6.5cm circles. Use scissors to cut each circle into a spiral, fringing the outer narrow end. See our post at papercraftermagazine.co.uk for stepby-step instructions. ➍ Lightly colour the edges of the spiralled papers with a blue ink pad. With a quilling tool, coil the spiral, starting at the fringed edge. Glue to secure. Cut three leaves from blue paper and glue the flowers and leaves as shown.
