➌ Slice lengths of tissue paper to the following measurements: 3cm, 4cm, 5cm, 6cm and 7cm. Pleat each length as if making a fan.
FANCY FANNING ➊ Mount a 9cm x 13.5cm rectangle of snowflake patterned paper onto a slightly larger panel of white card.
➎ Use a foam pad to fix the heart centrally under the Christmas tree strip. Fit the folded strips inside one another, with the largest on the bottom and the smallest on the top.
➋ Add 2cm wide strips of tissue paper to the top and bottom of the patterned paper. Stick a second length of Christmas tree paper to either end.
➏ Cut out a narrow triangle from spare card. Carefully glue the stacked tissue paper layers onto the card then fix this under the star motif with a length of double-sided tape.
➋ Attach the third star-adorned motif in front of both trees, using a double layer of foam pads along the left edge.
TREE LAYERS ➊ Cut out three geometric trees. Glue one tree onto the blank and attach the second tree in front and slightly to the right, using foam pads.
➌ Finish by cutting out a 'Greetings' sentiment and fixing this with foam pads so it overlaps the trees as shown.

➍ Fold each pleated strip in half. Cut out a heart from the tissue paper. Mount it onto spare card and trim to size.

ORIGAMI TRIANGLES ➊ Cut two squares from festive patterned paper measuring 5cm and 7.6cm. Create two squares from a different patterned sheet measuring 3.8cm and 6.4cm. ➋ Take the largest square and, with the pattern facing up, fold it in half. Open it out and and fold in half again the other way. With the pattern side down, fold the paper diagonally to create a triangle. Open it out and repeat the other way. ➌ Pinch two opposite corners together and inwards to create a 3D triangle. Flatten this shape and
fold one edge inwards to meet the centre fold. Repeat on the other side to make the first tree layer. Repeat these folds on each of the remaining squares. ➍ Cut a rectangle of snowflake patterned paper to 10cm x 15cm. Stick this to a silver blank. Using white embroidery thread embellish this panel with a hand-sewn border. ➎ Glue the smallest triangle towards the top of the blank. Slide the slightly larger triangle inside the top one and glue in position. Repeat this until all four shapes are attached. ➏ Using foam pads attach a 'Peace' sentiment under the tree and a pop-out star above.
SNOWY BRANCHES ➊ Take a sheet of snowflake patterned paper and roughly tear two 2cm x 11cm lengths of paper from it. Fix these to the bottom of a forest patterned blank. ➋ Select two more Christmas papers and start to build up a 10.5cm tall tree motif by tearing a series of triangles and layering them, starting from the base.
8.5cm x 14cm rectangular aperture from the centre and secure to the blank with double-sided tape. ➎ Pop out a star motif and fold it so each point is creased through the middle. Make additional creases from where each pair of points meet to the centre. Push the centre forward to create a 3D effect. Affix this to the card with a foam pad in the centre and a dab of glue under each point so it overlaps the frame.
➌ Once the layers are glued down, cut out two small trees and position them alongside the main tree as shown. ➍ Cut out a white card rectangle the same size as the blank. Trim an

THREE TREES
SNOWFLAKE GATEFOLD
➊ Cut a 9cm circle from blue card and stick two die-cut trees onto the card at slightly different heights. Take a third motif and punch two small holes above the pot. Tie a small length of red organza ribbon through and knot.
➊ Create a 13cm square gatefold blank from white card. Cover the front two panels with 6.5cm x 13cm pieces of white patterned paper.
➋ Glue gold gems to the star at the top of the third tree. Add this section to the centre of the circle with foam pads. ➌ Cut an 11cm circle of card and cover with snowflake patterned paper. Fold in half. On the reverse of the folded circle, trim a 0.5cm straight line from the edge adjacent to the folded line, so the card stands securely. Affix the completed blue section to the front of the folded card.
23 PA P E R C R A F T E R
Stick pink die-cut letters to the inside centre of the card to spell out LOVE, as pictured. ➋ Cut a 10.5cm circle of blue card and stick a die-cut snowflake to the centre. Embellish with tiny silver gems and stick the finished disc to the left panel of the card.

YOU WILL NEED: ❂ PaperCrafter kit ❂ PaperCrafter Studio Selection Paper Book ❂ Gems, clear ❂ Ribbon, navy ❂ Card, white, aqua, navy ❂ Buttons, blue, plum, aqua ❂ Fine liner, black ❂ Adhesives
LOVE HEART ➊ Create a white 12.5cm x 15cm blank. Cover the bottom with a 4.5cm x 15cm section of aqua cross patterned paper.
T
his issue's kit is packed with fab illustrations and motifs that look great on a range of projects. We're particularly fond of the bright, colourful patterns by Jessica Hogarth featured in our Paper Book, which are just the ticket for contemporary makes. Here, Colette Smith has teamed these papers with our pop-out shapes to create four stylish cards that will brighten your recipient's day.
➋ Cut out the pink and navy triangle section from the vertical stripes paper, attach to the blank so it is in line with the top of the aqua cross patterned paper. Snip out the aqua and navy scallop strips from the horizontal striped paper, stick the scallops above the triangle section and the navy strip below. ➌ Cut a heart from navy card so it measures approximately 4cm x 5.5cm. Snip round a smaller one in white card, another in aqua cross
paper and a tiny heart from the rectangles paper. Matt and layer each heart and adhere to the left of the blank over the scallop border. ➍ Arrange the ‘Love’ letters in the top section of the blank, so that they overlap slightly, stick down and finish with a gem in the smallest heart.
CITYSCAPE ➊ Create a top-fold 10.5cm x 15cm aqua blank. Attach a 4cm x 48
PA P E R C R A F T E R
10.5cm piece of triangle paper to the bottom. ➋ Cut out five of the rectangles from the cityscape patterned paper, trim so they are different heights and adhere to the blank above the patterned piece, making sure the two end buildings go off the edge of the blank. Trim any excess. Cut a small circle from a yellow section of paper and three clouds from a white and pink area. Stick to the top of the blank above the ‘skyscrapers’. ➌ Draw and cut out ‘Hi!’ in navy card, mount onto white card and trim, keeping the sides at an angle. Affix to the lower right corner. Attach a length of navy ribbon over the paper join to cover the bottom of the ‘skyscrapers’. Finish with three gems to the left of the ribbon and two on the clouds.

TIP: When writing your own wording, such as with the ‘Superstar’ card, write it first in pencil on the pre-cut strip of card, when you are happy, go over in fine liner, allow the ink to dry then rub out the pencil marks; you can then attach the strip
HOME SCENE ➊ Trim the grey blank to 11.5cm square. Cut scallops along the top of a 7.5cm x 11.5cm panel of the aqua sky paper as shown. With the fold at the top, adhere to the blank, 4cm from the bottom.
SUPERSTAR! ➊ Trim the plum blank to A6 and with the fold at the top, cover the bottom with a 2.5cm deep strip of white card. ➋ Cut out the star section from the Christmas borders paper and stick above the white card. Wrap and tie navy ribbon around the join, with the knot at the right. ➌ Pop out the stars and layer so that you have a large, medium and small star. Glue a button in the centre of each; adhere to the left of the blank, with the point of one star overlapping the ribbon.
➋ Pop out the row of houses, turn over so the white side is facing. Cut a strip of the olive rectangle and navy stripe section from the vertical stripes paper. Attach to the border below the houses. Adhere to the blank 2.5cm from the bottom and trim the border so it overlaps the sides of the blank by 0.5cm.
➍ Write ‘Superstar’ in the bottom right corner with black fine liner.
➌ Select the ‘Home’ letters from the die-cut sheet and use them as a stencil to create the letters in the aqua sky paper. Fix the letters to the bottom right corner. Snip a door and windows from navy parts of the patterned paper and adhere to one house. Finish with three gems on the border and two above the buildings.
