.................................................... FOUR SIMPLE GREETINGS TO ................................................... ADD TO YOUR CARD BOX TODAY .....................................................
W
hile sometimes it’s nice to set yourself a challenge to recreate a complicated paper make, there are some afternoons when what you really fancy is a nice and simple project. Arm yourself with a ruler, scissors and some good tunes on the radio and get stuck into these four lovely cards by Colette Smith.
YOU WILL NEED: ❂ PaperCrafter kit ❂ Downloadable papers from papercraftermagazine.co.uk ❂ Ribbon, red ❂ Hemp cord ❂ File ❂ Glue
GLAMOUR PUSS ➊ Place a dark red blank in the landscape position and add a red and white spotty border strip along the bottom. Cover the rest with pale striped paper. ➋ Take a piece of zigzag paper and cut a 2cm deep strip, following the line of one of the chevrons. Attach to the blank 2.5cm from the bottom. ➌ Snip around the handbag, perfume bottle and shoes motifs and attach

along the top edge of the zigzag paper as shown. ➍ Cut out two yellow hearts and one in navy, lilac and red. Glue above the other motifs. ➎ Trim round a ‘Glamour puss’ sentiment and mount onto a 4cm white card circle. Embellish with a small red heart and red ribbon bow. Attach the wording to the right of the blank, over the zigzag section.
THANK YOU ➊ Trim the navy patterned blank to a 10cm top-fold square and set the waste card aside. Cover the front and back with red floral paper. ➋ Add a 2cm x 11cm strip of leftover card across the blank, 1.5cm up from the bottom edge. Cut out a ‘Thank you’ motif and mount it onto waste card, trimming it to leave a

➌ Cover an MDF heart with spare card, trim the excess and file the edges. Cut a 3.5cm heart heart from floral paper and attach to the centre. Glue the heart to the top left of the blank. ➍ Knot a length of hemp cord, thread through a sequin, snip off any excess and secure with a dab of glue at the back. Tie a bow from hemp cord and glue to the back of the threaded sequin. Fix it to the top right of the heart.
AMAZING DAY
➊ Trim a printed wreath blank to an 11.5cm square. Cover the right side with an 8cm wide panel of stripy paper. ➋ Cut an 11.5cm length of leaf paper so there are two complete rows of leaves in the pattern and stick next to the striped section.
➌ Cover the rest of the blank with waste card from the navy blank. Snip out the ‘Have an amazing day’ sentiment and attach to the top left. ➍ Trim around the following motifs: handbag, lipstick, flower and leaves, navy heart, navy flower, yellow flower and yellow comb. Stick the flower and leaves motif to the lower left of the sentiment. Arrange the rest of the images as shown. Add a sequin to finish.
Trim, leaving a 1mm border. Mount onto the white side of the waste card and trim again, leaving a 2mm border. Adhere this centrally to the blank, 2.5cm from the top. ➌ Snip round a yellow bow motif and mount it onto red spotty paper. Trim and attach to the bottom right corner of the birdhouse panel. Cut out one yellow and two red hearts and fix to the blank, as shown.
MANY CONGRATS
➊ With the fold at the top, cut the blue blank so it measures 10cm x 11.5cm. Attach a 6cm x 9.5cm piece of birdhouse paper centrally so the top edge of the paper is in line with the fold. ➋ Cut out the ‘Congratulations’ motif and mount it onto waste navy card.
