Reverend Dr. Dewey E. Smith Sr., Pastor Reverend Bernice Davis, Officiant
Mrs. Vivica Catherine Adams Leslie was born the third of six girls in Atlanta, Georgia, March 27, 1956, to the late Billy Ford and Doris Adams. She was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and enjoyed playing basketball as an extracurricular activity. She later married and to this union were born three children. Vivica was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Corliss Adams, niece Shavikia Adams and nephew Terrias Adams.
For over 35 years, Vivica worked for The Wendy’s Company. She started in the position of cashier before climbing the ladder and becoming a store manager. During her employment with The Wendy’s Company, she provided many people, young and seasoned, with an opportunity to enter the workforce, while learning life skills. Some of those employees, whom she trained and mentored, would eventually become managers. Her integrity and impeccable work ethics that she modeled will forever remain engrained in the lives of these employees and serve as a beacon to others.
In 2006, Vivica was joined in holy matrimony to her long-time friend Mr. Roy Lee Leslie. Vivica loved the Lord and joined her husband, a life-long member of The Greater Travelers Baptist Church, now House of Hope Atlanta, to continue serving and worshiping until her illness and death.
Throughout her life, Vivica enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, traveling, decorating, and showering others with gifts. There was no greater gathering than one where family and friends could enjoy great food and robust laughter. The great food often consisted of Vivica’s signature, and many times requested, candied yams. On August 17, 2023, after a continuing illness, God allowed Vivica to travel to her final destination, the best of all. He called her home where she can dance on the streets of gold, sit at the welcome table, feast on milk and honey, and be showered with gifts forever.
Vivica leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband, Roy Lee Leslie; children, Deacon Donald E. Adams, Jr. (Shaunta`), Francesca Adams and Crystal Adams; bonus children, Kishina Grant (Gerald), Tierra Leslie, Nakeya Leslie and Shamea Leslie; sisters Betty Sloan Clark (Arthur), Scherise Adams, Zina Adams and Felicia Adams; grandchildren, Jaquavious Adams, Quindarius Clemon, Briana Clemon, Jacorey Adams, Mallory Adams, Zion Clemon, Frederick Adams, Gerald Grant, Kensington Grant, Gabriel Grant and Niko Leslie-Yulle; great-grandchildren, Quindarius Clemon Jr. and Cali Tolliver; aunts, Rita Johnson and Anita Clay (Tommy); uncle Alfred Smith (Lula); sisters-in-law, Sandra Leslie, Sheila Leslie and Andrea Hicks; brother-in-law, Johnny Leslie; the Adams, Barber, Moore, Hursts, Jackson and Darden families; the Wendy’s family; and, a hosts of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
