APPLICATION PROCESS

At Parish Episcopal School, our goal is to help our students uncover the unique passions and abilities that will not only serve as preparation for college, but also establish the foundation for a meaningful life.

During the admission process, we want to become acquainted with the individuality of each student – who they are and who they want to become. Our holistic review considers students’ grades, test scores, letters of recommendation, interests, talents, and goals. Parish is interested in all of this.

Inquire and Visit Parish

Join us on campus for one of our many events, including campus tours, our admission Open House (Parish Preview), or an arts or athletics event. You can also explore Parish through our Admission webpage or schedule a meeting with our Admission team. We invite you to deep dive into Parish to see if it is the right independent school for you.

LOVE OF LEARNING

Parish’s academically stimulating curriculum students with a solid foundational education that piques their curiosity and creative constitution and enhances a growth mindset for a life-long love of learning.

Core to the Parish classroom (in and outside of four-walls), our dedicated and passionate Lower School faculty focus on a student-centered, differentiated curriculum designed to engage each and every child in the arts, humanities and STEM, which is further emphasized in the Beasley STEM Center and enrichment programs through hands-on, interactive centers and activities.

As students move through the Lower School, and as developmentally appropriate, curriculum becomes more integrated and developed around students’ daily explorations that enable them to make connections across subject areas.

Likewise, for our older Lower School students, as they move to the Midway Campus an emphasis on organization and study habits is important as we promote independent, self-directed learning and service, guiding each student to lead and serve with integrity and helping them explore their possibilities and become a positive influence in the School community.

It’s a place where

every individual’s

story and perspective are valued and encouraged

Upper School at Parish Episcopal School is a place where students begin their journey for life after graduation. The School’s constant aim is to equip students, regardless of their next steps, with the skills and confidence needed to navigate the complex global society in which they will live after stepping out on their own.

Parish Upper School is a place where students can engage their curiosity and deepen their talents. They are invited to dive into areas of interest to them, beyond core curricula, exploring a variety of programs and activities, including Parish’s signature programs.

SERVICE

& LEADERSHIP

Service and Leadership for Upper School students are key to the Parish experience. Our oldest students serve as inspiring role models for the entire Parish community. Within the framework of ParishLeads, the School empowers students to become globally-minded servant leaders. While the community service requirement for graduation is 60 hours, many students serve much more than that during their time at Parish as they begin to forge relationships with the local and broader community, and expand their responsibility as global citizens.

Freshman: Service Possibilities – 15 hours. May serve up to eight hours at Parish; must serve at least seven hours away from school with local agencies.

Junior: Servant Leadership – 15 hours of service and a project/event that is geared to benefit those whom they serve; also includes a presentation to the Upper School community.

Sophomore: Local Causes – 15 hours for Local Causes in the DFW area, outside of Parish.

Senior: Extending Beyond – 15 hours for the organization they supported through their Junior Servant Leadership experience.

EXPERIENCE

ADVISORY

Upper School advisories stay together all four years, giving students a core peer and adult mentor group (or family if you will) to rely on, discover alongside and share in the Upper School daily experience.

STUDENT LIFE & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

The Upper School has a challenging yet balanced program with diverse courses, including advanced programs in core subjects and co-curricular opportunities. It also has an array of Parish experiences that allow students the space to explore, reflect and become leaders in their own right.

46 Center for College and Life Planning (CCLP)

As students prepare for life after Parish, CCLP counselors are there to support them along the way, starting in their freshman year and even after they’ve left the halls of Parish. The degree of guidance increases and becomes more specialized as students advance from 9th through 12th grade. This extensive student-centered program is highly personalized and collaborative.

At Parish, we believe no student should have to make the transition from high school to college unsupported. With our specialized preparation, we help students cultivate impactful relationships with college counselors who understand that each student’s particular life journey will be different from their peers.

Our approach is a student-specific process that supports and encourages future graduates to forge a path toward their individual brand of success. Counselors ensure both parents and students are knowledgeable about the unique intricacies of preparing for college, the college search process, completing applications and, ultimately, selecting a college or choosing an alternative plan in some cases.

ARTS

The arts permeate through all disciplines at Parish Episcopal School, from PreK through 12th grade.

At the Midway and Hillcrest campuses, Parish Arts are indeed everywhere!

Even when Parish students are not seated in an arts class, they are immersed in the discipline as it touches all programming across the School, including athletics. Whether it’s the set and costume designs by six year olds for the annual Primer play, a focus on the role of music during the Arab Spring for Academy of Global Studies, an online art history course in The Academy through Parish Plus, a dance class for athletes, a theatre performance that benefits a local charity, or an independent study in an advanced technique, the influence and importance of the arts shows up everywhere at Parish in ways that are intentional and unintentional, required and voluntary.

50 ARTS PROGRAMS

Parish offers 50+ arts programs, including Advanced Placement programs, during the school day, as extracurricular, as well as during our afterschool Parish Extend program.

At Parish, all students have the opportunity to explore their talents through the arts.

Expands upon the school day, providing opportunties for our community to explore passions and discover new interests.

Our programs are built for students finding their way in the world, alumni returning to their Parish roots or adults wishing to develop new skills. We strive to ignite passions, promote creativity and build confidence within the Parish community and beyond to the broader, local community.

Parish Extend is a comprehensive after-school program that seamlessly extends your child’s day and enriches their curriculum. With offerings tailored to students of all ages and interests, Parish Extend provides a vibrant space for discovery, creativity, and growth. Whether it’s after-school care, Exploration classes in STEM, Arts, Athletics, and Lifestyle, or specialized programs like the Dance Academy and private music lessons, there’s something to inspire every passion.

Parish Summer offers more than 250 camps in academics, arts, athletics, languages and STEM, allowing you to create a summer your child won’t forget. Our summer programming is designed for students from the ages of 3 to 18 and includes a day camp, as well as specialty camps that appeal to a wide range of interests.

The Academy encompasses all academic programming offered beyond the regular school day, including summer sessions. It’s designed to invigorate minds, broaden perspectives, and boost classroom confidence. From academic workshops for all grade levels and Upper School for-credit courses to convenient driving instruction and study abroad opportunities, The Academy provides a diverse array of enriching experiences.

Parish Abroad is an educational program designed to enhance global competency in Parish students through intentional and impactful travel, equipping them with the skills for critical, ethical, and global thinking. Abroad programs are designed for students 6th-12th grade.

Located on the Midway campus, The Gilman Study (The Study) supports Parish’s core academic programs by providing a physical space where people can develop new skills, explore new interests and have access to the help they need, when they need it. The Study consists of Parish Lab which offers programs designed to support students who learn differently, and Parish Link for those who seek academic coaching to boost success. Future plans involve opportunities for further confidence-building and supportive programming for the entire community.

Parish Lab is a resource for 3rd through 12th grade students to develop their learning styles, strengths and practice study skills. Led by a team of learning specialists, Parish Lab is geared toward each student’s individual needs.

Parish Link assists families by connecting parents and students to qualified, fully screened academic coaches and therapists (i.e., dyslexia, speech-language, occupational). We appreciate that students learn differently and at times may require additional academic or specialized support.

PAWS Spirit Store is your one-stop shop for all required uniform apparel, accessories and school-approved outerwear. PAWS is also the perfect place for students to pick up a drink or healthy snack or to replace a lost pencil or pen during the school day.
